iBook problems

I have ordered SuSE 6.4 for PowerPC. My problem is that I can't install the system. I have an iBook with 96 Mb ram, 300 Mhz G3, 3,2 GB HD, 4MB rage pro gfx card. I use system 9.04. I have partition the drive with 3 mac partitions wich one is a linux boot partition with 40 Mb space. Then there is one root partition with 1 GB and a swap with 128 Mb. (done with the apple's partition tool) When I install the folder on the linux boot disk and hold down space bar when I boot, I can see nothing on the screen. When I push enter, it starts too rrrrrr (sign that it is something processing). very funny. I think the onley problem is the gfx. Because when I try BootX, I see everything, the installer etc, but it quits after a while (this is because it is a new world mac and I should'nt use the bootX in the first time.) Tnx in advance. Video Acceleration

Apple iBook

Dear listmembers! I plan on getting an Apple iBook but wouldn't if there were any unsurmountable issues concerning getting Linux PPC running on it. I had thought of SuSE 6.4 . Does any one of you have this combination running? Please be so kind to share your experiences, good or bad. TIA! Hallo Alex, Hallo Linuxkollegen, mir scheint, als ob unser geliebtes Linux für PPC ein generelles Netzwerkproblem hat. Wir haben hier zwei Pismo PowerBooks. Auf dem einen ist ein LinuxPPC auf dem anderen ein SuSE Linux installiert. Beide frieren gelegentlich ein oder starten sich spontan selbst neu - aber scheinbar nur wenn sie am Netz hängen. lost packets

Hallo, ich habe unter Suse Linux PPC 6.4 ein kleines Problem mit meinem Netzwerk. Mit dem Kernel vmlinux habe ich ca. 25% lost packets auf meinem Ethernet. Wenn ich den LinuxPPC-Kernel zum booten auswdhle, reduzieren sich die lost packets, aber ich habe immer noch einige Netzwerkfehler. Ich verwende einen Gravis TT (baugleich Umax Pulsar / SuperMac S900) und die interne 10 Mbit/s Schnittstelle (MACE). Netzwerkkarte der Gegenstelle, Kabel und Switch habe ich bereits als Fehlerquelle ausgeschlossen. Unter MacOS 8.6 lduft das Netzwerk problemlos. Es scheint sich um ein Problem im Kernel oder Modul zu handeln. Hat jemand dhliche Probleme? Merci, Alex P.S.:Hat jemand erfolgreich eine PC-Netzwerkkarte unter SuSE PPC zum laufen gebracht? Meine Versuche mit einer Realtek 8139 waren noch nicht von Erfolg gekrvnt.

Hm, i can't read the message! Just 0-9 is readable and all from a-z is mixed.
