Hey all,
A bit ago I put out a call for participation on the editorial calendar
[1]. Still looking for people to 1) propose ideas for the calendar and
2) step up and take on articles.
We have room to publish these on news.opensuse.org as appropriate or
we can often offer things to Linux.com and other publishers who might
be looking for how-to type material.
Who's ready? :-)
Best,
Zonker

Hello ,
Its great to see that the new openSUSE Board Members are announced
[1].And i would take this time to Congratulate Bryen Yunashko , Rupert
Horstkoetter and Pavol Rusnak for the same and hope to have a much more
better experience , more enthusiasm and more fun working to/for the

And now its the time to Tweet , Blog , Digg and facebook the

Hi All,
today, during the configuration of a clean install of openSUSE 11.2, i
have noticed that many pages of the Italian Wiki points to the English
version. To confirm this, i have visited the pages that i had
traslated some time ago (like http://it.opensuse.org/Netbeans or
http://it.opensuse.org/Java ) and there are the original english
version. Why? What's going on with the Wiki?
Thanks in advance,
Bye

Hi guys... As you probably know i'm actually maintaining LXDE for our
distro, with repo, Live CD and so on. Mario Behling as you can see from
quoted mail invited me to join an LXDE meeting as openSUSE rappresentative.
I joined last FOSDEM with Lars Vodgt for a talk about openSUSE-Education
(i'm one of the coo-admin) with my own money (Joe Zonker should rember
me) and i hope to join next one to talk exactly about LXDE.
I was wondering then if openSUSE should provide me the Ticket to allow
me to go to that meeting. I'm actually an italian openSUSE ambassador also.
Thanks for reading this e-mail... waiting for a (positive i hope) answer :)
Regards
Andrea Florio

FYI - Call for Papers - would be good to have openSUSE folks here:
http://www.linux-magazine.com/Online/News/CeBIT-2010-Call-for-Papers-for-Op…
"Interested speakers can send their proposals with the title of the
talk, information about the speaker and a short description of the
content up until January 7, 2010 to events(a)linuxnewmedia.de. Talks can
be in English or German. The user-based talks and follow-up Q&As are
scheduled for 40 minutes; the presentations of free projects should be
20 minutes each."

If anyone here is in the Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) area and wants to give
one or two presentations about the openSUSE Community at GWAVACon at
the end of January, get in touch with me.
This past January, Chris Hobbs and I both presented at GWAVACon on
behalf of openSUSE and we had huge numbers attending the sessions. One
was a SUSEStudio demonstration and the other was on the benefits of
getting involved in the Community (aimed at Novell partners and
customers.)
GWAVACon appreciated us and invited us to attend once again. But,
unfortunately, we don't have a travel budget, so I can't go.
Understand, if you go, it's on your own dime. But if you're also
interested in GroupWise and other Novell topics, it's a good opportunity
to go, present sessions and get free admission to the conference to see
other relevant sessions.
If you volunteer to go, I will be more than happy to work with you on
tailoring good session topics aimed at this audience market.
Let me know ASAP. Thanks!
