There's this event FOSS.IN, probably the largest of it's kind in the country. It just released it's call for participation (http://foss.in/news/fossincfp-2009.html) The call for speakers/sponsors/delegates opened sometime this week. If interested in sponsoring, someone in authority might want to contact them (http://foss.in/contact) . I might be going as a delegate, but am not yet sure, as I may have exams. If anyone would come as a speaker, they will be accomodated, maybe even sponsored in some cases. If possible, do come (especially developers), even if only as a delegate[Registration fees for delegates: INR 500(Student), 600(Individual) & 2500(Corporate, i.e. you represent a company)]. INR 46 ~ US$ 1. There is also space for stalls. As far as I know, it's primary focus is coding and development, not use. [opensuse-marketing] Tweet-slators

As each of our lists of followers grow on Twitter, Identi.ca, etc and more international, we should start thinking of ways to simplify re-tweeting for our followers to quickly pick up on. I just picked up and retweeted a spanish version of today's 11.2 RC1 announcement knowing that I have some Spanish-language followers who could easily retweet that and spread it around to their followers. For major announcements and such, we should probably form a team of translators (tweet-slators?) so we can send out tweets in multiple languages. [opensuse-marketing] Self-Introduction - openSUSE Community Assistant

Hi, please let me introduce myself. My name is Rupert, I'm 28 and I'm currently on the home stretch of studying business administration and electrical engineering at Darmstadt University of Technology. I've been involved with the openSUSE Project for several years. I served as the Project Manager of the openSUSE Forums Merge, I initiated the openSUSE Forums section at the openSUSE Weekly Newsletter and I contributed as a moderator at the openSUSE Forums to the openSUSE community. I was employed twice at Novell/SUSE - as an Intern in Product Management in 2007/2008 and as a Workstudent for Community Architecture in 2008/2009. As of the 1st of October 2009, I'm sponsored by open-slx.com to work for the openSUSE Project as openSUSE Community Assistant. I'm really looking forward to collaborate with several openSUSE teams on improving openSUSE documentation and community resources - namely the openSUSE wiki, the openSUSE Forums, the SDB and other support information for openSUSE. My current focus is to work on a concept for the openSUSE wiki to improve the content quality, to enhance its usability and to improve its maintainability. Have a lot of fun!
