[opensuse-factory] Late submission of haproxy for 13.1?

Hi everyone, I saw that haproxy was packaged in server:http as the latest stable version, and (being a newbie) incorrectly assumed that it would get into 13.1 "automatically". Now I noticed that this didn't happen. I've talked to darix who is the packager of haproxy in server:http, and my understanding is that he would be okay with submitting it for 13.1 with me as the maintainer. [opensuse-factory] GSTreamer 1.2 on the horizon

Dear Factory hackers, * GStreamer 0.10 is dead; * Gstreamer 1.0 was released long ago * GSTreamer 1.2 is NOW (released) The differences between GStreamer 1.0 and 1.2 are certainly less than 0.10 to 1.0 introduced. But seeing the new pace it is clear that 0.10 will not see any new developments happening... so openSUSE will have to 'move away from it'. What does that all mean: for openSUSE 13.1: nothing new: we will ship GStreamer 1.0.10 plus also GStreamer 0.10 branch, as several projects were not able to upgrade in time. GST 1.2 was released this week and we did not track 1.1.x branches due to uncertain timelines upstream. An integration at this moment is unrealistic, as the most notable 'developer change' is a full switch to 'one-header only includes' (so only #include <gstreamer.h> will be valid with 1.2). I am sure there is plenty of code in Factory that will break, so we'll hold that one off for 'summer time' (unfrozen Factory). For the next release: We will push for GStreamer 1.2 (or 1.4.. once timelines become known). The GStreamer maintainers (so, essentially the GNOME Team) will assist in fixing 1.0 to 1.2 fallouts as much as we can. but obviously welcome any help otehr pkg / prj maintainers can offer here. [opensuse-factory] File-roller error on file operations

Hi, I use file roller from factory ( 3.9.91 ) as extract tool ( and I think we should add it also to lxde as recommended archiver due to its small dependencies ). It opens archive (tar.gz) without problems, but when I try to do anything with file ( open, extract ... ) then it raises popup An error occured while extracting files Error settings modification or access time: Invalid argument Does anyone see it? Is it already reported ( I cannot find anything in bugzilla )? [opensuse-factory] A couple of observations on installing openSUSE 13.1 Beta

I've just installed openSUSE 13.1 Beta 1 on my Acer Iconia laptop/tablet http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model-datasheet/NT.L0QAA.005 I've noticed a couple of oddities along the way - During installation, the clock is off by more than 4 hours (on both LiveCD and DVD). Compare that to installing 12.3 on the same hardware with the same settings and it has it correct time. I haven't found any bugs on this one... I'll try a reinstall on this and see if I can find out more... at this point, the only observation is the clock is way out of whack when I boot the LiveCD or DVD. - Bluetooth is not found/visible. Bluetooth shows (internal BT an external BT Dongle) on 12.3 on the same hardware. Seems 3 separate bugs on the same issue have been raised: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841715 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=829417 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841765 - RAM is not being reported correctly - this isn't limited to 13.1 though... also happens on 12.3. [opensuse-factory] KDE remote desktop issues.

Running 13.1 X64 KDE on a machine I bought for openSUSE testing specifically. In trying to log into a remote KDE session on a machine on the local network. When I get logged in the screen is flipped upside down and the text is reversed. The background image on the login screen is also upside down but the login prompt is displayed normally. It's impossible to log out once logged in unless I reboot the client machine. Keyboard does not work and the display not very responsive. Once a menu item is opened you can't close it and all "buttons" are not responsive. Is this a bug or just the difference in KDE versions not matching rearing it's head? Hi, Honestly, its the first time I use Factory but plan on using it from here on. A few questions if I may: - Is there a reference on how to use Factory? How often it gets updates? If bugs are found, how/where to send the patch/pull request? - I use the following Repos. http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1/repo/oss/ http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1/repo/non-oss/ http://download.opensuse.org/update/13.1/ but I haven't noticed updates since Beta 1 was released. Are there release cycles? If so, I assume I would need to have plenty repos from OBS to test packages before they are released. Is this process documented anywhere? First the former calls ifup with old name and then the latter tries to rename it. This does not sound right, or do I miss something? Hi, isn't there a more elegant way to solve this? --- cut --- pmidi.x86_64: W: incorrect-fsf-address /usr/share/doc/packages/pmidi/COPYING The Free Software Foundation address in this file seems to be outdated or misspelled. Ask upstream to update the address, or if this is a license file, possibly the entire file with a new copy available from the FSF. --- cut --- I almost wanted to ask: why don't you do it yourself? ;) Consider everyone has to do what is proposed there... and/or the FSF moves 2 or 3 times a year... Just a blunt idea: the license could be taken from the respective RPM tag in the spec file and the file copied into the package. Or why not make a package named "licenses" or similar and create a link?
