Hi to all, Any ideas why a command like ifconfig works when invoked from a %post hook when package is installed via rpm -Uvh but not when same package is installed via zypper from an external repository ? %post IP_LOC=`/sbin/ifconfig | grep "inet adr" | grep -v 127.0.0.1 | awk -F: '{print $2}' | awk '{print $1}' | awk -F. I just installed RC1 using the above Live CD. I have 2 questions: 1. why is packman and libdvdcss repositories not listed in YaST's list of repos as in the past? and 2. why are these repos cannot be "built" by YaST when selected to be added to the list of active repos?- * VirtualBox * Mozilla * LibreOffice * Games Anybody know the answers, please? I tried to submit a new bug from two machines. Each time I can do the search in Bugzilla, I can fill out the form, but when I try to submit the report, either nothing happens (from a new 12.2 installation) or the session times out with: "The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. For reference: bnc#742778 Also for reference: Portugal was the first and longest standing global Empire in the history of Manking (1415-2000), as such Portuguese is spoken in many countries; From Africa to Asia, all former Portuguese Overseas Territories speak the official Portuguese from Portugal, while Brazil has it's own version. The most visible evidence of this is: - Brazilian Portuguese scientific production is made by the Royal Academy of Science; - (European) Portuguese scientific production is made by the Lisbon Academy of Science; >From the legal field, I do suspect that neither the current translation or the English original have any legal value in Portugal since our organic (constitucional) laws require that documentation and legal artifacts are supplied in the native language. So it doesn't really matter. The current text displayed on the License has clear evidence that it targets only Brazilian people, which is OK, but having the very same text in Portugal is offensive; If I recall correctly Portuguese was already spoken in Portugal 500 years before Europe even knew there was an American Continent (ignoring the Scottish claims that they arrived to Americas in the 14th Century, else you can cut 100 years on that). Since people suggested to revert the language of 'PT' to use an English license, I dont mind patching the stuff to do it. Anyone could please point me which package is responsible for the installer so I can take a look and fix this? Of course the community can keep the current stuff to keep the Brazilians happy, which doesn't change the fact that we are still Portuguese and still speak the mainstream language. In openSuSE 12.2-RC1 (Build0050 DVD) from fresh install, I haven't been able to add any of the 'community' repos through yast. I returns the message "Unable to download list of repositories or no repositories defined". I was able to add packman be editing a prior versions (12.1) repo but haven't been able to get that to work with libdvdcss or a couple of others. [opensuse-factory] Can we get RealTek ALC280 sound support in Tumbleweed Kernel?

Hello All: I have a new Toshiba P855-S5200=2C and although Windows 7 creates sound on the internal speakers, OpenSuse 12.1 and Tumbleweed (which I was forced to by bug 769678) are silent. I suspect this is because the hardware's design is new and additional kernel support is required. For full disclosure I also opened an OpenSuse 12.1 ticket for this at https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3D769991. Regarding the symptoms I see, my system acts like the sound device is detected but no sound (speakers or headphones) is generated. My laptop has internal speakers, microphone and headphone jacks and HDMI. I have not tried HDMI. I noticed some discussion about a patch that sounds like it might address this issue at:http://www.spinics.net/lists/stable-commits/msg18206.html If the maintainers agree that this is a likely fix=2C could we please try it? I'm not sure how to build and deploy a kernel in OpenSUSE, but I would be willing to test the fix in the Tumbleweed version of the kernel. My current kernel is 3.4.3-30-desktop. [opensuse-factory] OS_12-2-RC1 DVD iso doesn't boot

I downloaded openSuSE 12.2-RC1 (Build0050 x86-64) and verified the sha256 checksum. I have burned three (3) DVDs by different methods but none of them would boot, instead going right to existing grub menu. The methods I used were k3b, brasero, and dd. K3b and brasero both burned the DVD with no errors and verified them. DD returned a message about the DVD ran out of room so couldn’t complete. The procedures I used in k3b and brasero are the same ones I've used in the past (scripted-I only have to enter the file path). Is anyone else having this problem?
