[opensuse-ppc] Sleep LED misused on 10.2 (iBook G3)

The iBook G3 come with a white LED that's active if the device sleeps. On 10.2 during installation you seem to misuse it to signal hard disk activity. am I hacked ?

Hi, I got some problems (disk access denied, bus errors,...) that led me to go into single user mode and fsck my partitions. I noticed then that there were some directories created in the tmp directory, called "dev" and "etc", and one file in the / directory called "success" with 0 length. At reboot, these files disapeared. Does anybody know if this could be a sign of a hacked computer ? I mean could someone have installed a rootkit or some such ? I'm not paranoid but this indeed seems strange. [opensuse-ppc] Anybody made any progress towards installing OpenSuSE-PPC on PS3?

So far I've been unable to find anything on the distribution DVD that kboot will function with from the prompt. Here are the things I've tried: sr0:/suseboot/inst64 sr0:/suseboot/yaboot.ibm sr0:/suseboot/yaboot I am considering remastering the dvd with an /etc/kboot.conf file in order to properly execute whatever will work as an installation kernel with initrd configuration and all. Anybody got any ideas? Actually these packages are not mentioned at all, but I found them on each architecture I tested. Now it works, and it sped up compilation a lot. Tomorrow I'll test it with the 'build' script, and if it works, I can start compiling Packman again. [opensuse-ppc] icecream cross compile

Hello, I was compiling Packman packages for PowerPC for more than a year. Then my PPC machine broke and my first son was born, so I did not have a machine or time to do it. Now I have a bit more time and a strong X86 machine, so I would like to resume this activity. I looked at http://en.opensuse.org/Icecream and compiling on machines of the same architecture works fine. I have now a small cluster of embedded PPC machines :-) Of course, the ultimate goal would be to use the X86 monster to compile PPC packages. My problem is, that it's not clear from the above mentioned documentation, that which cross-xxx-icecream packages should I install on X86 and PPC and how I should parameter ICECC_VERSION.
