[opensuse-factory] TW: libnfs8 conflicts with libnfs

Dear all, today's zypper dup brings up this conflict: File /usr/lib64/libnfs.so.8.1.1 from install of libnfs8-1.10.0-1.2.x86_64 (openSUSE_Tumbleweed_OSS) conflicts with file from package libnfs-1.10.0-1.7.x86_64 (@System) Which can be solved manually by zypper in libnfs8 -libnfs I guess there is an Obsoletes: or Conflicts: missing in the libnfs8 package? [opensuse-factory] Skype-Web and microphone

Chat and voice works on my TW PC with normal Skype (skype-4.3.0.37-suse121.i586). But since the compatibility with Mac and Windows Skype users is limited, I looked at Skype-Web (web.skype.com) and Skype for Linux alpha. I read somewhere, that Skype-Web works (best) with Google Chrome. The problem is, that my microphone does not work with Skype-Web I hear the voice from Skype test call (username echo123), but I can't hear my voice. My voice is not mute for some seconds, it does not exist (0 seconds long) in Skype test call. In Google Chrome I already allowed web.skype.com to access my Sennheiser USB microphone. Any idea's, how I can fix this? [opensuse-factory] I want to maintain xine

Hi, I've had a submit request and an add role request for xine, sr#404871 waiting for 26 days and the add role sr#406051 waiting fo 20 days. I'm familiar with the sources and I'm prepared to spend time keeping it alive. It is my primary video player and is the only video player that can properly emulate a dvd players dvd menu actions for testing dvds. [opensuse-factory] Cannot get rid of RPC on NFSv4 only server.

Hi. I want to have a NFSv4 without the RPC services running. IIRC it was possible on 13.2 but I cannot get rid of RPC now on Tumbleweed. If I mask the rpcbind service or socket the system won't boot (it gets stuck waiting without limits). If I try to uninstall the rpcbind package it also wants to uninstall the following packages: rpcbind patterns-openSUSE-x11_opt patterns-openSUSE-x11 patterns-openSUSE-sw_management_kde patterns-openSUSE-non_oss_opt patterns-openSUSE-non_oss patterns-openSUSE-imaging_opt patterns-openSUSE-imaging patterns-openSUSE-games patterns-openSUSE-enhanced_base patterns-openSUSE-dhcp_dns_server patterns-openSUSE-base patterns-openSUSE-apparmor nfs-kernel-server nfs-client Not good... And if I disable the rpcbind service it doesn't makes any difference since it seems to be started by the rpcbind socket. So, is it possible to completely disable rpcbind or not? AFAIK it is not needed at all on a NFSv4 only server. P.S.: the NFS server autostart is disabled in YaST → NFS Server module but it is started anyway. I don't know if this should be considered a bug. [opensuse-factory] Leap 42.2 follows TW packages?

Hi Ludwig, when a Leap 42.2 package is "forked" to take a TW package, does it automatically follow the later TW package update as well until the 42.2 code freeze? But best description I found around how to do multiple packages at once is at [2], so one needs to utilize these two documents to make build-able maintenance branch that could be tested. After that we get to testing but first the above needs to be done. [opensuse-factory] openSUSE Leap 42.2 Alpha3 released

Hi, tl;dr 42.2 Alpha 3 is on the mirrors, get it from http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.2/iso/ The merge of the SLE12SP2 core components is basically done now. Since SLE enters release candidate phase now we won't see many updates coming from there anymore. So even though it's called Alpha 3 we are on a pretty solid base already. Among the countless leaf package updates, big changes since Alpha 2 were completing the GNOME update, the integration of KDE Plasma 5.7 and Texlive 2015. So time to put Alpha 3 under stress, test it in real world scenarios and file good bug reports!¹ There will be a follow up to this mail with a test plan for manual testing. We have five weeks now to get in shape for for Beta 1. There are quite some things to do: - Help to fix build failures. There are currently 165 failed or unresolvable packages in Leap: http://paste.opensuse.org/8372992 Help is appreciated there to identify the problem, talk to maintainers, file bugs or fix the issues right away. See also the OBS monitor page for the current list² - Fix openQA tests. There are quite some red tests in openQA³. For example some UEFI tests lack actual test code to handle the different dialogs in the bootloader. The update tests also don't work and need debugging. - Decide whether to update your packages in Leap. As usual keep the purpose of Leap and a smooth upgrade path in mind. Don't forget to tell openSUSE marketing about any great new features⁴ or update the release notes if there are glitches⁵.
