[opensuse-factory] How to force OBS to use a machine that supports SSSE3 CPU flag?

Hi guys! I'm seeing random build failures with julia v0.4.2 package (x86_64). For example, it builds fine in my home repo and in science repo but failed when I submitted to factory: https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/home:Ronis_BR/julia/openS… (SUCCEEDED) https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/science/julia/openSUSE_Fa… (SUCCEEDED) https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:… (FAILED) The output gave me one important information: /bin/sh: line 1: 27871 Illegal instruction It turns out that the package we are trying to build needs SSSE3 instruction set (it is being built with MARCH=core2 for performance purposes). I am not 100% sure, but it seems that when the build server on openSUSE's server farm does not support this instruction set, then it will fail. I tried to add the following in _constraints: <constraints> <sandbox>kvm</sandbox> <hardware> <memory> <size unit="M">4000</size> </memory> <cpu> <flag>mmx</flag> <flag>sse</flag> <flag>sse2</flag> <flag>sse3</flag> <flag>ssse3</flag> </cpu> </hardware> </constraints> However, I get the error: constraints validation error: Extra element hardware in interleave when either sse3 or ssse3 is present. Thus, my question is: how can I tell OBS to build julia in a machine that supports SSSE3 instruction set? [opensuse-factory] weather widget

Hi I downloaded the weather widget and installed it on the desktop, configured it to use the correct city via www.yr.no and it worked fine. So i then installed it on the panel and it did not use the already configured setting, i had to reconfigure it. [opensuse-factory] Bugs in Leap:42.1

I found a seg fault in Leap:42.1's midnight commander and an update will be available that fixes it but the problem was caused in pcre, a very much used and built against library on our systems. The pcre version in Leap has missed out on numerous fixes and I'm proposing an update to pcre-8.38 that doesn't seg fault with the present mc. Is anyone brave enough to install Base:System/pcre on their system to test, it works on mine? [opensuse-factory] Using upstream artwork for Plasma 5

Hello everyone, with the huge help of Tomas, we've been taking a look at the current openSUSE bugs with regards to KDE software. One major pain point that emerged invovles artwork: themes changed quite a bit in the Plasma 4.x -> 5 transition and that caused all sort of issues (some subtle, some glaring). We (the KDE team) have been discussing this among ourselves and there are some problems ahead: 1. Neither of us is an artist; 2. Neither of us has the time / commitment to update the artwork; 3. The upstream artwork is moving very fast, so we'd have to play catch up. Therefore we will drop the custom artwork for Plasma 5 and use what upstream provides, with the next update. Did someone notice the upstream fix of: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352055 ? Are there any intentions to backport the appropriate Qt fix to Factory/Tumbleweed or switch to Qt 5.6? This error still hits me on every second KDE startup in average (empty space instead of the Audio Volume icon in systray). After having set up openQA on OpenSuse 13.2 a month or so ago, I today accepted the updates that have been on offer for a while now. I encountered it also partially in 13.2 but it went worse now. Actually in 13.2 sometimes the first bug gives a description. Also leap follows this pattern. If there is more than one bug, you need to recharge the list of bugs with packagekit (I am speaking about the applet in KDE I think with xfce by your description it is exactly the same issue). Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, We’re again one week and two snapshots further after last weeks review. Not too many things happened, I only spotted a couple minor updates here and there, like for example: * gdm 3.18.2 (Fixes lock screen bypass when holding escape key, CVE- 2015-7496) * wine 1.8 RC2 – only fixing bugs in the RC phase * VirtualBox 5.0.10 There are of course more updates, but nothing just jumped at me as being highly interesting this week. This must be because people have been preparing a lot for the openSUSE Asia Summit. You should always be on a lookout for local events near you – and make sure you join them. The stagings are currently all filled, building, failing, rebuilding, openQA’ing, and reporting success and failures, just as we’re used to it. * The cmake update to version 3.4.1 (from previous 3.3.2) is pending. Can’t really say yet if it will cause problems – but past updates shows we better be ready for it * systemd 228 (from currently 224) as being prepared * The kernel update, that will merge the XEN flavor into the default flavor. That is still going to be a short while, as there are other pieces in need of fixes (instllation-images-openSUSE) I’m sure we’ll try to get more snapshots to you during the next week (currently, it seems though as if openQA is not picking up new images to test – we’ll have to check on that). [opensuse-factory] Linux hardware database based on the hwinfo tool

Hello, Recently I've set up another one database of the Linux hardware based on the SuSE hwinfo tool. The database is growing automatically based on the probes submitted by Linux users via the command line tool. So the database includes hwinfo output for about 3000 computers for now. The database is based on the concept of a "probe". Each probe includes hwinfo output, dmidecode, dmesg and other useful logs to discover computer devices and interfaces or debug some kinds of issues with the hardware. [opensuse-factory] openSUSE as Ada development platform

Helle, I'd like to use Ada programming language for some of my upcoming projects... I do use TW and there is gcc5-ada GNAT compiler based on gcc-5.2 which is fine, but many other things are missing like gprbuild, GPS IDE, GtkAda etc. which are present in other major distros like Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, although, interestingly enough, FreeBSD is leading the squad here. Personally, I plan to write open-source app and due to the need to use 3rdp party C lib which is GPLv2+ licensed I can use AdaCore' GNAT-GPL bundle, but I wonder if there is some interest amongst openSUSE devs/users to enrich openSUSE's offering of packages to make it 1st class platform for Ada-related development?
