Hi Kmail in 11.2 ms2 removes the contents and date from mails then leaves a blank entry with unknown in the date field and no subject in the subject field Kmail 1.11.90 KDE 4.2.86(KDE4.2.86(KDE4.3 >=20090514)) "release 1" I can not enter it in bugzilla there is a bug in bugzilla that has prevented me accessing it for almost as long as it has been around want more info on the kmail problem let me know what (it is very close on a total show stopper) but if it is wanted on bugzill then i am affraid someone else will have to do the honours .. For Gimp it saved 5-6 seconds and also another apps start up faster ;-) Finally. It seems that relatime could fix it. [opensuse-factory] nil in /etc/hosts

I just discovered that my /etc/hosts file is full of "nil" elements where it should have, for example 127.0.0.1 loclhost. This, of course, disturbed part of the working. I think I'm not the only one to have suche things (seen in internet, and probably on an other suse machine, but I can only see it next week). This seems to come from the install, several month ago, so difficult to trace. [opensuse-factory] RFC: What should be on the DVD and what's fine online only?

Hi, As texlive was updated vom 2007 to 2008 in factory, it also grew from 159MB to 266MB and that made the milestone2 DVDs exceed the limits you can burn on DVD. I made a quick hack and removed qt4 documentation, which is also impressive 90MB. Werner says that texlive upstream doesn't see the problem and doesn't provide a good way to split (it's own distribution is a DVD or 2 CDs). And there is our problem: With every release it eats more and more of the openSUSE DVDs and I'm afraid it exceeded a sane limit - as it's far from mainstream I would remove it. I know how many use texlive and I don't talk about dropping it out of the distribution, but I can't hold it on DVD unless I drop several other packages. [I posted this to the opensuse list a week ago. It generated no useful on-topic replies, and a lot of off-topic replies.] Because https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=406035 is WONTFIX against the release it was filed under, I was forced to find a newer kernel that includes its fix. Back in December I found one at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/ilya_41/openSUSE_11.0/i586/ . Now that location includes a newer kernel version. I tried to update to that newer version, but it requires updates to other packages: module-init-tools 3.4-56.9 perl-Bootloader 0.4.81.1 http://software.opensuse.org/search and webpin can only find me the already installed versions, not the newer ones required by the newer 2.6.27.21 kernel packages. Can someone tell me how to satisfy this dep problem? Do I just install those two packages from the 11.1 update repo even though I'm on 11.0? [opensuse-factory] GroupWise client (8.0.0HP2) became sluggish on MileStone2

Dear list mates, I'm using GroupWise Client, version 8.0.0HP2 on my openSUSE Factory installation. Since the latest updates that hit factory (going to MileStone 2), the client became very sluggish and is constantly consuming 100% of one CPU core (sometimes it even happens to use part of the 2nd core). >From my observation, the problem appeared togetherwith glibc 2.10, but then, that very zypper dup installed almost 1GB of packages. so it could have been whatever. Does anybody else see similiar issues (if at all somebody is using the groupwise client)? Thanks for you help! [opensuse-factory] updated of packages with usermod / groupmod calls 'hang'

Hi, I have a question if i'm the only one seeing it or not (a quick glance in bugzilla did not show hits, but then, it might be tricky to guess the right search words). So the problem: I issued a zypper dup. Several packages are being downloaded and installed. All the packages that have some usermod / groupmod calls in their post scripts hang the process. usermod needs to be killed on a separate shell. even if I start the simple usermod -g www wwwrun (as launched by apache2 script) stays there and hangs forever. Anybody seen something similiar? Some bug already hinting at this problem? (I would file it against base system otherwise, as manually starting groupmod also does not work). [opensuse-factory] kmail 4.3beta1 - delete thread causes focus to jump back severl messages in list?

Devs, This again is probably a kde issue, but I thought I would post and see if anyone else has encountered this. When going though mail in kmail, if I delete a thread, the focus in the message list jumps back several messages in the list. This is a real annoyance. Anybody else experience this?? -- David C.
