[opensuse-factory] Cannot run programs as root from kde3 or 4 menu

Hi, my kde4 is up to date and now I cannot get any programs that run as root to start from the menu. The kde4 run command doesn't prompt for root password nor does any menu item that is supposed to run as root i.e. yast2. The only way I can get yast2 for example, to start is in kde3 from the run command after entering the root password. I can't get yast2 sw_single to start in kde4 konsole after issuing the su command it just hangs but zypper works. Kde3s konsole works as expected and both yast2 and yast2 sw_single work as expected. sudo /sbin/yast2 starts the ncurses version in a user konsole in kde3, I haven't tried sudo in kde4. Any clues as to what package could have caused this? Hi . One for the Eye Candy mechanics department . have a look at this Use the Small Bridge wallpaper available from the get m ore wallpapers tool then run Xine playing an audio cd select goom as the visual plugin set it to full screen and the transparencey to 25% for a very Mystic looking desktop but the one thing is you cant click thru it is it even possible to make the resultant constantly changing background clickable thru so you can use it as a full screen background one for future hackings .. Just a thought Pete . Still completely unable to get into bugzilla

[opensuse-factory] ksnapshot - no minimize button & region now shows black dimension dialog in top-left

Listmates, I have 2 questions about the new ksnapshot (kde43beta1). (1) There is no minimize button on the title bar. Is this a feature or is it just my install? I have a screenshot of both the kde3 and kde4 ksnapshot versions together and I can't explain why the kde3 app will minimize and the kde4 app won't. Any ideas? (59k, kde3 on left) http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/kde4/screenshots/ksnapsho… (2) The new ksnapshot gives you a read-out of the size of the "region" being selected when selecting a region. Not only does it provide a bounding-box with the dimensions displayed in the center, but it also provides a separate black box in the top-left corner of the display giving you the same information. The problem becomes grabbing a region in the top-left of the screen. You have no way of moving the thing in the top-left corner to be able to see the detail underneath it you want to get (or where you want to stop/start the grab). [opensuse-factory] Why psi package builds without aspell?

psi can be built with aspell for spellchecking in chat window, but dont. Is it missed BuildRequires: aspell-devel or any reason to build it without? [opensuse-factory] problem in running kde4.3-beta2 from svn

I try to build kde from svn. Every thing goes OK till last step. When I try to run full session using this tutorial: http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/Developing/Guide#Using_a_display_manager_to_star… I get first splash screen then blank desktop. Do I miss something? [opensuse-factory] Why does k3b refuse my DVD

Hey Group; Another complaint. Why does SuSE 11.2 K3B 1.65 #### refuse to even see my working DVD?. I am trying to burn a open Source DVD.iso It mounts DVD and CDs correctly (so it is hooked up) but is not seen by SuSE's K3B. I have even set about everything in /etc/group that has permission set on /dev/sr1 (DVD writer) and sr0 (Player) On K#B Devices blacks out all selections This kind of thing is getting rather tiring. And even in a konsole or xterm /usr/bin/k3b fails to even come up as "su". Using noatime is the fastest option but it has too many cons associated with it. Using relatime is observably faster than not using it, but not as fast as noatime, but it has far fewer cons. Does anyone know what cons using relatime as a default mount option would have?
