[opensuse-wiki] SSH Tunnels form Microsoft Windows

Hi, What you opinion on supporting this in the wiki: http://en.opensuse.org/SSH_Tunnels_from_Microsoft_Windows. It's clearly a windows / PuTTY howto. Maybe it's more appropriate mentioning PuTTY somewhere, with some short possibilities. (eg in the openSSH article). I feel that strict Windows Howto's, that don't really touch openSUSE (maybe only when you are actually accessing an openSSH server which is maybe running on Linux and than maybe on openSUSE), don't belong in the wiki. [opensuse-wiki] LTSP

Hi there, I came across http://en.opensuse.org/LTSP during my big "ssh" search. I'm wondering, the transfer / review of this kind of project pages (although it's not a real openSUSE project) , is there a responsibility of the project people, or the "wiki" people. I don't want to be touching something regarding a project I don't know much off. I've put the LTSP mailinglist in CC, maybe they are unaware of the transition. How to we bind http://wiki.opensuse.org/Portal:YaST with rest of portals and wiki? The structure of fields is a bit strange with one 100% width at the bottom, which produces large blank area in the middle, and completely missing related and navigational stuff. [opensuse-wiki] Strategy Discussion in new wiki?

We've created some pages in the "old" wiki for the strategy discussion and I'd like to move these to the new wiki. Currently the pages are reachable via http://en.opensuse.org/Documents/Strategy Where should these life in the new wiki? I'll do the move myself, just need some guidance on the location - and will then ask for review when done. Also, I just send a reference to what the Meego project does for Developer engagement. I'd like to collect such references for community building in our wiki. Any ideas for a good location? They all need content or fixes that I have no time to do. http://wiki.opensuse.org/Portal:Distribution Seems to be fine. http://wiki.opensuse.org/Portal:11.1 We need all from scratch. http://wiki.opensuse.org/Portal:11.2 Partially done. It needs more content and maybe some cleanup. http://wiki.opensuse.org/Portal:11.3 We need all from scratch. Help docs for editing Portal pages will be added to the rest of the help pages as time permits. For now, if basic instructions below don't answer you questions, just ask. Basic is that content is added or edited in subpages using Edit link on the top right side of frame title line. Example: http://wiki.opensuse.org/Portal:11.2 Frame title: Related portals link edit Click edit and it will open http://wiki.opensuse.org/index.php?title=Portal:11.2/Related_portals&action… Do changes. Check how it looks like with "Show preview" button under the edit field. When satisfied, click "Save page" button. Saved page is now: http://wiki.opensuse.org/Portal:11.2/Related_portals You can see that is not the actual portal page. Click on link Portal:11.2 and you will be back to the: http://wiki.opensuse.org/Portal:11.2 Check layout of portal pages. New content should not go out of the frame, or garble the Portal page in any way. When all is done, please report here, so that someone from wiki team can review changes and approve them for publishing. [opensuse-wiki] openssh - tunneling x over openssh articles etc.

Hi there, I'm currently (and already some time now) busy with editing, creating and upgrading articles about openssh and prepare them for transition. At the moment there are many different articles about forwarding X display through a ssh connection, only under different names. There are some I encountered on my search on the wiki, although I didn't write them down. (At that time I thought I was only going to change a few words in the openSSH article). When this is finished I want to start on one good article about X forwarding, taking all the information in the existing articles, saving to check and move all this pages. Most of them are incomplete or obsolete anyway. Is there some Temporary namespace, where I can create a page to make this inventory (for myself). And if anyone encounters or knows an article, throw it on the list. I know your really busy with the transition right now, If I can help, just shout. But, I'm not a wiki expert. Neither a Linux expert, but I see the wiki as a handy notebook for myself, how I got things working. Since, the wiki and other Internet sources are not always 100% correct. That's how I started with this. Just a small note on my current work, you might see that some links to articles are not working. That's because it's already prepared to serve the new wiki. Anyway, the links are just quickly created to have something there (In the knowledge bar and at the bottom. I will invest more time in them after the transition. [opensuse-wiki] Plan Status?

Hi, I have a question regarding the current plan and the status of the Wiki migration. If I remember correctly the plan was to switch to the new english (and the german?) wiki before 11.3 comes out, is that still the plan? When looking at the Todo-Page at [1] one still finds a lot of free spaces in the list in the "Who"-Column. Is the list up to date? Or does that matter at all? It would be great if the Wiki Team could clearify on this a bit because I think the new wiki is quite important for a nice 11.3 "Party" and it would be good to know about the facts there. Moin, just browsed on http://en.opensuse.org/Maintenance/Team and saw at the top " This article has been transferred to the http://wiki.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Maintenance/Team" Great, I thought first, then checked the page in the new wiki and found "There is currently no text in this page" Is this just an accident or are there more pages in similar state?
