Is there a configuration option somewhere to have KSnapshot save .png images in
8-bit instead of 24-bit? 24-bit is a complete waste for desktop and window
screenshots that include no photographs. I know many many moons ago, probably at
least a decade, .png file sizes were much much smaller by default. Clicking the
KSnapshot help button produces nothing but an hourglass.

Anyone else unable to run KDE3 session on TW? Anyone know how to find out why I
see timeouts? I got this two days ago on host big31 and figured it out myself,
but now on host p5bse I don't remember how and can't figure it out. :-(

I looked at big31's bash history and saw a clue in having done
zypper -v in libvdpau_nouveau Mesa-dri-nouveau libXvMC_nouveau
but that had NVidia gfx, and this has ATI Cedar. So I added Mesa-libva. Next startx
try produced segfaults in drkonqi and kicker related to libfontconfig.so. Next
I added libvdpau_va_gl1. Next startx produced a flash of Kicker, then back to
black screen. Next, libvdpau_trace1, same result. Next, libvdpau_radeonsi, no help.
Next, libvdpau_r600, still nada. Next, libXvMC1, no dice. Next, libXvMC_r600, nada.
Next, libxcb-xf86dri0, nope. libXfont1, no. libxfonts, wants 8 deps including java,
so skipped. libva-glx2, no. :~(
All these failures are associated with another new ~/.config/gtkrc* file.
Same PC has separate TW installation with Plasma that works as expected. :-p
Ideas?

Hi,
I just added KDE3 to my system with OpenSUSE 42.3. I had been using KDE
Plasma 5 on it before.
Logging out and relogging with a KDE3 in gave me this:
https://schwart6.home.xs4all.nl/kde3-with-plasmabar.png
(Two panels, one KDE3 kicker and the Plasma panel.)
This does not really make sense I'd say. Is this a bug or should I
change something to prevent this?
Thanks,
Julius

Happened yesterday, and again today:
Problem: kdeutils3-3.5.10-119.4.i586 requires libnetsnmp.so.30, but this requirement cannot be provided
deleted providers: libsnmp30-5.7.3-14.2.i586
Solution 1: Following actions will be done:
keep obsolete libsnmp30-5.7.3-14.2.i586
keep obsolete snmp-mibs-5.7.3-14.2.i586
Solution 2: deinstallation of kdeutils3-3.5.10-119.4.i586
Solution 3: break kdeutils3-3.5.10-119.4.i586 by ignoring some of its dependencies

libIlmImf-Imf_2* is just one example, as there are several similarly named
unpronounceable packages at same version at any point in time.
$SUBJECT is fairly routine in TW, Leap and TDE. Why are these requires not
provided in oss or non-oss instead of Packman, which seems to provide only in a
wrong version half the time?
Also ATM nothing provides libidn.so.11 needed by kdegraphics3.
