Hello List,
how can I get back the ability writing accents on my KDE3-desktop?
My System is openSUSE 13.1 with KDE3 (3.5.10 release 262) from
inofficial Suse-repos. I'm using the keyboard layout with dead keys.
Under KDE4 all applications can work with accents. Under KDE3 there
is no application writing accents.
Writing accents is active (kcontrol).
Any hints (or is this behaviour a bug)?.
Thanks,
Helga

Hello world,
It is surprising that writing:
sudo echo "Hello World" | wall↵
in a Konsole window, does nothing appear in any Konsole window nor open a
KDE3 warning dialogue (as I've seen before), but if there is an open xterm
window, it works as expected, as well as in console (Ctrl+Alt+Fx) when
someone is logged in it... I also hear a "beep" thank you to my new
big "BIOS" speaker!
If this can be usefull to a maintaining developper...
(From a previous post : nobody can help me, saying how to change the
current console (Ctrl+Alt+Fx) default font, with the one used by default in
Oss 13.2 ?)
Sincerly

Hi world,
All is well in Leap 42.1 + KDE3. Except that following an update
of "optionals", it was impossible to reboot. I dropped, forgetting developers
and bug report, and have restored the system.
I just have a problem with the console. It is utf8:
$ Echo $ LC_CTYPE
fr_US.UTF-8
but there are characters that did not make problem with Oss 13.2, as "♣"
and "Σ", and are now represented as "" in the console (But not in an X
terminal, of course). As I guess it's because these characters are simply not
defined in the current font, I would like to recover the font used in Oss13.2
where they were OK. I had the folly to use them in file names... Could
someone tell me the procedure, please?
Thank you for the attention you paid brought to this email,

Hello world,
I would like to know how to ask KDE3 (ie from a root script) to close the
currently openned KDE3 session(s), with or witout leaving to the user, the
possibility to abort this closure. More genelary, where can I find the
documentation describing this type of command ?
I thank you for the attention you paid to this mail.
