Anyone know if this went away in 15.0 or 15.1? I don't hook my test boxes up to
speakers, much less leave them running and active long enough to tell if it still
happens.
I need to decide whether to move to TDE when I upgrade my 24/7 to 15.1 from 42.3.
I'd rather not move, but this could be the deciding factor.

Nothing against KDE3 in B.O.O. has been fixed in quite some time. Is there any
reason to thing anything David Rankin cannot fix himself will ever get fixed?
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1047852 is seriously annoying. I've
endured it too long, and it's not the only open KDE3 bug.
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1044864 is no fun either. If 1047852
doesn't get fixed in coming weeks, when 42.3 support ends I'll have to goto TDE,
unless someone can convince me there's some other reason to stick with KDE3 in
15.1. That it comes from openSUSE's own BS isn't enough any more.
DR mentioned today that openSUSE has the best maintained KDE3. Does any other
distro even offer it?

Felix,
All, I filed a bug report regarding the missing icons in yast2-qt3 and
missing [RPM Groups] tab in sw_single along with a proposed solution and
description of the problem:

All,
Just rolled in the themes to kde3 on 15.1 and it is an absolutely beautiful
desktop.
Theme : BlueSlateBlack
Windeco: Crystal
Style : Keramic
Ksplash: zen_moodin
Icons : OxygenBlack refit
Take a look! (with integrated kate/kwrite/konqueror w/systax highlighting)
15.1 BlueSlateBlack Theme with ksplash zen_moodin

(susepaste expires 3 months)
If you are interested in any of the color themes or icons, I still have the
original files I can dig up. (since kdelook.org has gone out of it way to
purge the good kde3 files...)

All, Felix,
Can you check yast2 in KDE3 and see if you have icons? When I click software
manaagment, it starts reading repositories and then displays an error message
in an orange box that plugin-qt cannot be found. I also get the error:
y2controlcenter: No icon /usr/share/YaST2/theme/current/icons/32x32/apps/yast.png
So something is messed up. Here is what I see:

Hi,
I miss rekall, I have used it for many years. But it is not available
for Leap 15.0/1
<https://software.opensuse.org/package/rekall>
Repo KDE:KDE3 has it for Leap 42.3. Any chance of getting it on L 15.*?
I have not found any alternative database frontend, rekall has unique
features for "visual" database, similar to Microsoft Access but on mysql
or postgres. You just draw lines connecting elements and it just works.
No, LO can't do it despite its claims.
The only thing I can do for now is run it inside a 42.3 virtual machine.

Is there a configuration option somewhere to have KSnapshot save .png images in
8-bit instead of 24-bit? 24-bit is a complete waste for desktop and window
screenshots that include no photographs. I know many many moons ago, probably at
least a decade, .png file sizes were much much smaller by default. Clicking the
KSnapshot help button produces nothing but an hourglass.

I just did a zypper dup from 42.2 directly to 15.1. The process went well, but on
reboot I found kdebindings3 is a 42.2 package; a 15.1 package is not found. KDM3
and KDE3 do seem to be working normally though. Did the split of glibc-locale-base
off from glibc-locale cause this? Can kdebindings3 be safely uninstalled?
