knetworkmanager should now work with wi-fi. I have just connected my laptop to
wlan with knetworkmanager-kde3.

Larry,
Never did. Honestly, I haven't checked in a while. I'm on my 11.4/kde3 laptop
right now - still no kpowersave battery icon in the tray. Clicking on kmenu ->
System -> Desktop -> kpowersave launches and restores the icon to systray. The
"battery meter" is working, but looks like it needs to configure itself again to
know the proper time left. I think that will happen automatically during the
first batter cycle.
I needed to configure kpowersave to start on login again. Configure
kpowersave -> General Settings -> Miscellaneous -> Autostart [X] KPowersave
starts automatically on login.
Looks like Ilya worked a bit more magic and got it working again. Great job
Ilya. I don't know if this is the old kpowersave or if this is upower with the
kpowersave interface on it -- can you fill us in Ilya? Regardless, it seems to
be working again.
HTH Larry.

ok, one more 12.1 question. kde3 was installed on top of kde4. everything
seems to work, except sound and there is no suspend option on the logout
menu, that is no suspend to ram and no suspend to disk. everything works w.
kde4, so the hardware is fine, what packages do i need to look closer at? is
the suspend problem due to the lack of the correct kdebase3? shutdown is
installed.
thanks,
d.

Hi,
I'm having a hard time accessing my imap accounts from a cyrus server with
kmail3 from KDE:KDE3 after upgrading to 12.1/x86_64. On access of certain
folders (even after removing folder and .folder* somewhere below
~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/imap/.account.directory), either the download simply
stops progressing, kio_imap4 occupies one core for hours until quitting
kmail, or the the download is interrupted and kmail shows a nice but useless
dialog about an unexpected transfer interuption caused from some programming
error..
Before complaining here, I tested different crypto settings, and checked, if
any patches made into kdepim3 lately, that might be responsible, but appart
from some clean up/build adjustments from Ilya, nothing stands out. The
senders current time indicator patch looks innocent.
The folders are perfectly accessible from other openSUSE installations, e.g.
11.1 and 11.4, all with KDE:KDE3, but this is my first serious x86_64
installation attempt. Hence I guess, it's either
* a gcc issue (although a gcc 4.3 build is forced, as kdepim3 isn't buildable
with 4.6)
* a 64 bit (protocol?) issue
* some kernel behavioral change (locking, network stack)
All ideas/confirmations welcome.

Hi all,
I just wanted to ask if there is a way to make KDE4 qt4 applications
look similar to the KDE3 style (which is Plastik, here)?
I have already tried to use qtconfig, but it does not seem to change the
look for KDE apps, only for native qt4 apps like VLC or virtualbox.

Hello:
I installed KDE 3.5.10 on openSUSE 12.1 and it is working well.
But when I insert an USB flashdisk its icon is not placed on the desktop.
A window is popping up and it recognizes the USB disk as a hard disk and
not as a USB flashdisk. The flashdisk is mounted in /media/disk.
How can I get the icon representing the disk on the desktop similar
to previous opensSUSE versions?
Thanks,
Istvan
