[opensuse-kde3] TW nothing provides libIlmImf-Imf_2* required by kdebase3

libIlmImf-Imf_2* is just one example, as there are several similarly named unpronounceable packages at same version at any point in time. $SUBJECT is fairly routine in TW, Leap and TDE. Why are these requires not provided in oss or non-oss instead of Packman, which seems to provide only in a wrong version half the time? Also ATM nothing provides libidn.so.11 needed by kdegraphics3. -- Bombardier Beetle Irreducible Complexity Team OS/2 ** Reg. Linux User #211409 ** a11y rocks! On leap that is provided by libidn11-1.28-9.3.1.x86_64 (I guess you already knew that) I have no clue why that wouldn't be available under TW. (I just haven't loaded TW yet). Yes, why it wouldn't be in oss is strange. On 42.3 the description is: Summary : Support for Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) Description : GNU Libidn is an implementation of the Stringprep, Punycode, and IDNA specifications defined by the IETF Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) working group. It is used to prepare internationalized strings (such as domain name labels, usernames, and passwords) in order to increase the likelihood that string input and string comparison work in ways that make sense for typical users around the world. The library contains a generic Stringprep implementation that does Unicode 3.2 NFKC normalization, mapping and prohibition of characters, and bidirectional character handling. Profiles for iSCSI, Kerberos 5, Nameprep, SASL, and XMPP are included. Punycode and ASCII Compatible Encoding (ACE) via IDNA is supported. Distribution: openSUSE Leap 42.3 Unless it's just not maintained anymore, it would seem like that would be something that should be provided (as a GNU bit of code, it certainly doesn't contain anything proprietary that would prevent it from being in oss) -- David C. In 32bit at least, they're all missing either entirely or in matching version again, e.g. 23 available/installed while 22 supposedly "required". Are they supposed to be coming from KDE3 instead of Packman now that a/some patent(s) expired? -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Team OS/2 ** Reg.
