[opensuse-kde3] Missing writing accents

Hello List, how can I get back the ability writing accents on my KDE3-desktop? My System is openSUSE 13.1 with KDE3 (3.5.10 release 262) from inofficial Suse-repos. I'm using the keyboard layout with dead keys. Under KDE4 all applications can work with accents. Under KDE3 there is no application writing accents. Writing accents is active (kcontrol). Any hints (or is this behaviour a bug)?. [opensuse-kde3] kinfocenter in 13.1 & 13.2 contains only storage devices

Is everything else missing for anyone/everyone else? In 11.4's KDE3, there are 18 line items ending with XServer. YaST2 SW shows installed kdebase3-SuSE and kdelibs3 searching for kcmshell, and installed kdebase3-workspace, openSUSE-release & susehelp searching for kinfocenter. Both searches produce same results as 13.1. Both kcmshell memory and kcmshell xserver work, so missing kcm modules doesn't seem to be the problem. 11.4 has kde3-kio_sysinfo installed that 13.1's zypper cannot locate. Is this rpm now included in some uninstalled optional package, missing or renamed? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." [opensuse-kde3] Leap 42.1 ???

Hi All, I just read this, in french of course : https://fr.opensuse.org/Annonce_de_version_42.1 as it is a proposal for a translation. But I did not see any KDE3 in the paragraph "Autres environnements de bureau" (~ Other windows managers ?). Could it be the definitive end of KDE3 ? [opensuse-kde3] problems after adding KDE3 to fresh minimal X TW installation

Session starts apparently normally, but Settings -> Control Center produces no response. Konsole opens, but kcmshell fonts produces no response. Configure panel does work from kicker panel's context menu. Konq is missing from menu, but opened from Konsole crashes as soon as it appears to complete painting its window leaving message "known incorrect sRGB profile...libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile...
