[opensuse-factory] Failed to resolve "product_flavor(openSUSE) needed by openSUSE-release" in Dockerfile based container build (Tumbleweed)
by Oliver Kurz 05 Nov '19
by Oliver Kurz 05 Nov '19
05 Nov '19
since some days containers in OBS using the Dockerfile fail to fail to resolve
due to
```
have choice for product_flavor(openSUSE) needed by openSUSE-release: openSUSE-
release-appliance-custom openSUSE-release-appliance-docker openSUSE-release-
appliance-hyperv openSUSE-release-appliance-kvm openSUSE-release-appliance-
openstack openSUSE-release-appliance-vagrant openSUSE-release-appliance-vmware
openSUSE-release-appliance-wsl openSUSE-release-ftp
```
If I set `Prefer: openSUSE-release-appliance-docker` in the project config I
get
```
error running container: error creating container for [/bin/sh -c obs-docker-
support --install]: time="2019-10-27T15:23:32Z" level=error msg="systemd
cgroup flag passed, but systemd support for managing cgroups is not available
```
e.g. in https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/
home:okurz:container/yamllint/containers/x86_64
This is reproducible also when creating a new project based on the wizard
following https://build.opensuse.org/image_templates selecting "Templates
using openSUSE Tumbleweed", "Container built using docker tool".
By comparison, a container built based on Leap 15.1 seems fine: https://
build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:okurz:branches:openSUSE:Templates:Imag…:
15.1/container_test
Any ideas how to fix the container build using Dockerfile?
Could this be linked to recent changes in openSUSE:Factory project setup, e.g.
the "download-on-demand" repos?
I am trying on this mailing list after receiving no response on
https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-buildservice/2019-10/msg00078.html
Have fun,
Oliver

Hi All,
It likely comes as no surprise to anyone one that the groups in spec
file issue was raised with the board (one of these was on a public
list). In this specific email we are acting in our role of "helping
resolve conflicts" complaints were also made directly about the behavior
of certain individuals (again including on this list). The board has
chosen to deal with these issues in private as is our general approach
to such issues.
Firstly the board generally agrees that in the following thread [1]
there was a plan and general agreement to follow it for the removal of
groups if certain other issues were resolved. As such we believe they
acted with good intentions when starting to remove group support from
various places such as Yast, rpmlint and spec cleaner.
The board decided to wait until the discussion on new proposals settled
down, before going forward with the issue, at the time we had the
discussion we believed this to be the case.
Of all the proposals discussed the board agreed that the one submitted
by Ludwig [2], to move groups into the repository meta data is
technically the best solution and the one most broadly supported by
contributors. As such we welcome any contributions from the community
towards getting this working and integrated into tooling where it makes
sense such as Yast and software.opensuse.org
Given that our core tooling no longer displays groups and that the board
has a copy of all the existing groups that can be used as a starting
point for the new system the board has decided that including groups in
spec files should now be optional with the final decision resting with
the maintainer as some maintainers may still use there spec files in
distro's that still support groups although we believe most packages
going into factory wont.
We realize that this decision will not make everyone happy but hopefully
it eventually leads to better group support in the future.

Hello,
As announced months ago, KDE4 and Qt4 are not supported anymore.
All the issues we encountered were addressed and I submitted delete requests
for the remaining packages in openSUSE Tumbleweed.
This will not affect the Leap 15.0 and 15.1 users.
For Leap 15.2 the goal is to drop Qt 4 as well.

Hi,
with the latest Firefox version on Tumbleweed the Microfocus login page
is crashing Firefox. This doesn't happen on other (login) pages.
Any hint how to solve this? TIA!

Version update (3.3.7 -> 3.3.11.1)
- Update to version 3.3.11
* Fixed lots of possible crashes in the IT, XM, S3M, STM, STX,
AMF, IMF, GDM and MED module loaders.
* Fixed a possible endless loop in the IT loader with
malformed files.
* Fixed signed integer overflow leading to crashes in the
sample loader.
* Fixed a possible crash in MMCMP depacker with malformed
files.
* Fixed the broken fixed-line comment reader which might
possibly lead to crashes, and also badly translated several
song messages. The new code is adapted from libopenmpt.
* Support for building the Windows version using Open Watcom
compiler.
* A few minor OS/2 fixes.
* CMake updates.
* Other minor fixes/tidy-ups.
version 3.3.10:
* Fixed windows builds when UNICODE is defined. (Thanks S.
Michel).
version 3.3.9:
* Amiga, AHI driver: Fixed a crash upon driver shutdown.
* Amiga: Updates. Added standalone makefiles with cross-build
support.
* RAW file writer: Changed to use ansi stdio functions instead
of posix unistd, for better portability.
* Playercode: Allocate the right channel reverb buffers only
if the mixer is setup for stereo mode. (Helps with ports to
memory-tight platforms. Patch from Andrew Rossignol.)
* Fixed access to uninitialized memory in the simpleplayMEM
example program.
* Added a configuration option to exclude the hqmixer (off by
default.)
* Using locale-insensitive ctype.h and casecmp functions in
library.
* Configury: New --disable-alldrv option to disable all of the
audio output drivers. If additional --enable-xxx options are
given, the specified drivers will be enabled.
version 3.3.8:
* Handle the FastTracker2 pattern loop (E60) bug. Modules
abusing this bug (roadblas.xm) should play correctly now.
Thanks to Eugene Toder.
* AMF loader: Fixed segmentation fault in case of bad sample
offsets in broken files. (sf.net bug #26, thanks to 'Saga'
of OpenMPT project for the report and analysis.)
* AMF loader: Fixed loading of v10 files where sample loop
start and end values must be read as 32 bits, not 16 bits.
(Tested with Maelcum's "the tribal zone" and "the way its
gonna b". Noticed in OpenMPT source)
* Fixed a possible undefined behavior in the XM loader.
* Support for MMCMP, Amiga PP20 (PowerPack), STC (Stone
Cracker S404) and XPK compressed module formats, based on
public domain code from libmodplug and libxmp.
* Support for OpenBSD sndio.
* Fixed SDL output driver, so that it doesn't crash upon
resetting.
* Disabled the gt2 loader until it is completed properly. (It
has been always non-functional since its introduction in
v3.2.0.)
* Updated configury. The aix, hpux, bsd/sunaudio and sgi audio
drivers are now configurable and not built unconditionally.
Haiku support thanks to Jérôme Duval.
* Documentation update.
* Update DOS build for the new djgpp-2.05 release.
* Minor fix/tidy-ups.

Hi,
you all know and some of you probably use variants of
alias zyp='LANG=C zypper -v'
alias sc='systemctl'
but that sucks, when is comes to bash completions.
While in theory, it should be enough to:
ln -s zypper.sh /etc/bash_completion.d/zyp.sh
ln -s systemctl /usr/share/bash-completion/completions/sc
it's not, in fact. Something along the lines of
cat > /etc/bash_completion.d/zyp.sh << EOF
# zyp bash completion script
. /etc/bash_completion.d/zypper.sh
complete -F _zypper -o default zyp
EOF
cat > /usr/share/bash-completion/completions/sc << EOF
# systemctl alias sc completion
. /usr/share/bash-completion/completions/systemctl
complete -F _systemctl sc
EOF
is needed.
This is ugly as hell, of course. It might be possible to use relative paths
here, but the general scheme is unsatisfying. Why doesn't bash simply
completes from the expanded command?
Or is there something less cumbersome available, that I miss here?
Thanks,
Pete

[opensuse-factory] openSUSE:Factory - Build fail notification
by DimStar / Dominique Leuenberger 01 Nov '19
by DimStar / Dominique Leuenberger 01 Nov '19
01 Nov '19
Dear Package maintainers and hackers.
Below package(s) in openSUSE:Factory have been failing to build for at
least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the
configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no
fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.
- python-logreduce
- python-pyproj
Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed
package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Factory.
Kind regards,
DimStar / Dominique Leuenberger <dimstar(a)opensuse.org>

==== aspell ====
Version update (0.60.6.1 -> 0.60.8)
Subpackages: aspell-spell libaspell15
- version update to 0.60.8
* Prevent a potentially unbounded buffer over-read by no longer
supporting null-terminated UCS-2 and UCS-4 encoded strings with the
original C API. @xref{Upgrading from Aspell 0.60.7}.
* Ensure that possible typos are listed before other suggestions when
typo analysis is used. Also fix a bug so that suggestions that split
a word using a space or hyphen are not always first.
* Add Markdown filter.
* Add new @option{wordlists} option, which is a list of UTF-8 files that
contain additional words to accept.
* Add new @option{camel-case} option, which enables support for checking
camelCase words.
* Sort personal and replacement dictionaries.
* Change @code{ultra} suggestion mode to only find words that are within
one-edit distance or have the same soundslike.
* Implement the @code{aspell filter} command.
* Fix a bug in @code{AspellDocumentChecker} that prevented it from
working with UCS-2 and UCS-4 encoded strings.
* Remove unused @option{sug-edit-dist} option.
* @code{AspellDocumentChecker} now expects the document a line at a time
in order to work with the new Markdown filter. If the document is
split on white space characters instead, nothing will break, but new
filters such as the Markdown filter may give incorrect results.
* The @option{clean} option and command will no longer split a word.
* Various documentation improvements.
* Removal of several outdated appendices that don't really belong in the
main manual. Parts that are still relevent may eventually be moved
elsewhere, but for now they are available online at
@uref{http://aspell.net/0.60.7/man-html/}.
* Fix various crashes and other problems found by Google's OSS-Fuzz.
* Add partial support for recognizing the Unicode apostrophe (') in
words. In particular Aspell will accept the Unicode apostrophe when
the language uses an ISO Latin charset that doesn't already have a
Unicode apostrophe. For now, Aspell will still use the ASCII version
in suggestions.
* Detect when a dictionary compiled on a 32-bit machine is used on a
64-bit one (and vise versa), as due to an oversight, compiled
dictionaries depend on more than the endianness. Also added a compile
time option to remove this dependency, but at the cost of breaking
compatibility with already compiled dictionaries on 64-bit systems.
* Fix a bug which caused Aspell to crash when passing in a null string
to almost any of the C API functions. This should not happen if the
size is also zero as the pointer should never be derefrenced.
* Fix a bug that caused Aspell to crash with a SEGFAULT when built with
mingw-w64.
* In addition to outputting a warning when building with NDEBUG defined,
also include NDEBUG in the version string.
* Various compile fixes for newer version of Gcc and Clang.
* Fix VPATH builds.
* Use utf-8 encoding for manual instead of iso-8859-1.
* Other minor updates and bug fixes.

==== sudo ====
Version update (1.8.27 -> 1.8.28p1)
- Update to 1.8,28p1
* The fix for Bug #869 caused "sudo -v" to prompt for a password
when "verifypw" is set to "all" (the default) and all of the
user's sudoers entries are marked with NOPASSWD. Bug #901.
- Update to 1.8.28
* Fixed CVE-2019-14287 (bsc#1153674),
a bug where a sudo user may be able to
run a command as root when the Runas specification explicitly
disallows root access as long as the ALL keyword is listed first.
* Sudo will now only set PAM_TTY to the empty string when no
terminal is present on Solaris and Linux. This workaround is
only needed on those systems which may have PAM modules that
misbehave when PAM_TTY is not set.
* The mailerflags sudoers option now has a default value even if
sendmail support was disabled at configure time. Fixes a crash
when the mailerpath sudoers option is set but mailerflags is not.
Bug #878.
* Sudo will now filter out last login messages on HP-UX unless it
a shell is being run via "sudo -s" or "sudo -i". Otherwise,
when trusted mode is enabled, these messages will be displayed
for each command.
* Sudo has a new -B command line option that will ring the terminal
bell when prompting for a password.
* Sudo no longer refuses to prompt for a password when it cannot
determine the user's terminal as long as it can open /dev/tty.
This allows sudo to function on systems where /proc is unavailable,
such as when running in a chroot environment.
* The "env_editor" sudoers flag is now on by default. This makes
source builds more consistent with the packages generated by
sudo's mkpkg script.
* Fixed a bad interaction with configure's --prefix and
- -disable-shared options. Bug #886.
* More verbose error message when a password is required and no terminal
is present. Bug #828.
* Command tags, such as NOPASSWD, are honored when a user tries to run a
command that is allowed by sudoers but which does not actually
exist on the file system. Bug #888.
* I/O log timing files now store signal suspend and resume information
in the form of a signal name instead of a number.
* Fixed a bug introduced in 1.8.24 that prevented sudo from honoring
the value of "ipa_hostname" from sssd.conf, if specified, when
matching the host name.
* Fixed a bug introduced in 1.8.21 that prevented the core dump
resource limit set in the pam_limits module from taking effect.
Bug #894.
* Fixed parsing of double-quoted Defaults group and netgroup bindings.
* The user ID is now used when matching sudoUser attributes in LDAP.
Previously, the user name, group name and group IDs were used
when matching but not the user ID.
* Sudo now writes PAM messages to the user's terminal, if available,
instead of the standard output or standard error. This prevents
PAM output from being intermixed with that of the command when
output is sent to a file or pipe. Bug #895.
* Sudoedit now honors the umask and umask_override settings in sudoers.
Previously, the user's umask was used as-is.
* Fixed a bug where the terminal's file context was not restored
when using SELinux RBAC. Bug #898.

ensure we build upstreams daemon and systemd support.
