Summary : Sparse volume data structure library
Description :
Alembic distills complex, animated scenes into a non-procedural, application-
independent set of baked geometric results. This ‘distillation’ of scenes into
baked geometry is exactly analogous to the distillation of lighting and
rendering scenes into rendered image data.

==== openssl ====
Version update (1.1.1c -> 1.1.1d)
Subpackages: libopenssl-devel
- Update to 1.1.1d release
==== openssl-1_1 ====
Version update (1.1.1c -> 1.1.1d)
Subpackages: libopenssl-1_1-devel libopenssl1_1 libopenssl1_1-32bit
- Merged upstream changes to allow NULL salt values in EVP_PBE_scrypt().
* Revealed by nodejs12 during bsc#1149572.
* Modified openssl-jsc-SLE-8789-backport_KDF.patch
- openssl-jsc-SLE-8789-backport_KDF.patch: retain old behaviour
of EVP_PBE_scrypt. When key output buffer is not provided,
only check if the input parameters are in valid range and
ignore passphrase/salt fields as they are only used in
the actual calculation.
- Update to 1.1.1d (bsc#1133925, jsc#SLE-6430)
* Fixed a fork protection issue. OpenSSL 1.1.1 introduced a rewritten random
number generator (RNG). This was intended to include protection in the
event of a fork() system call in order to ensure that the parent and child
processes did not share the same RNG state. However this protection was not
being used in the default case.
(bsc#1150247, CVE-2019-1549)
* Compute ECC cofactors if not provided during EC_GROUP construction. Before
this change, EC_GROUP_set_generator would accept order and/or cofactor as
NULL. After this change, only the cofactor parameter can be NULL.
(bsc#1150003, CVE-2019-1547)
* Fixed a padding oracle in PKCS7_dataDecode and CMS_decrypt_set1_pkey.
(bsc#1150250, CVE-2019-1563)
* For built-in EC curves, ensure an EC_GROUP built from the curve name is
used even when parsing explicit parameters, when loading a serialized key
or calling EC_GROUP_new_from_ecpkparameters()/EC_GROUP_new_from_ecparameters().
* Early start up entropy quality from the DEVRANDOM seed source has been
improved for older Linux systems.
* Changed DH_check to accept parameters with order q and 2q subgroups.
With order 2q subgroups the bit 0 of the private key is not secret
but DH_generate_key works around that by clearing bit 0 of the
private key for those. This avoids leaking bit 0 of the private key.
* Significantly reduce secure memory usage by the randomness pools.
* Revert the DEVRANDOM_WAIT feature for Linux systems
- drop 0001-build_SYS_str_reasons-Fix-a-crash-caused-by-overlong.patch (upstream)
- refresh patches
* openssl-1.1.0-no-html.patch
* openssl-jsc-SLE-8789-backport_KDF.patch
- To avoid seperate certification of openssh server / client
move the SSH KDF (Key Derivation Function) into openssl.
* jsc#SLE-8789
* Sourced from commit
8d76481b189b7195ef932e0fb8f0e23ab0120771#diff-a9562bc75317360a2e6b8b0748956e34
in openssl master (introduce the SSH KDF)
and commit 5a285addbf39f91d567f95f04b2b41764127950d
in openssl master (backport EVP/KDF API framework)
* added openssl-jsc-SLE-8789-backport_KDF.patch

Dear Package maintainers and hackers.
Below package(s) in openSUSE:Leap:15.2 have been failing to build for at
least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the
configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no
fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.
- knemo
- slapi-nis
Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed
package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Leap:15.2.
Kind regards,
Ludwig Nussel <ludwig.nussel(a)suse.de>

[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - Review of the week 2019/47
by Dominique Leuenberger / DimStar 22 Nov '19
by Dominique Leuenberger / DimStar 22 Nov '19
22 Nov '19
Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
Another week, in which openQA did block some of the snapshots – and
some issues it was unfortunately not able to see. Anyway, during the
week 2019/47 we have released three snapshot into the wild (1116, 1118
and 1119), containing those changes:
* Mesa 19.2.4: fixes critical rendering issues from earlier Mesa
19.2.3. As this rendering issue did not happen on all graphics
adapters, openQA had no chance of spotting it
* Linux kernel 5.3.11
* KDE Plasma 5.17.3
* Subversion 1.13.0
* binutils 2.33.1
The things being worked on include:
* openssl 1.1.1d: will be part of snapshot 1121 and later)
* rpm 4.15.0: the new python dependency generator is nasty, as it
adds much more dependencies that were the before (probably a good
thing), exposing new build cycles
* Python 3.8
* Rust 1.39.0: break Firefox and Thunderbird so far
* Perl 5.30.1
* libxml 2.9.10: breaks perl-XML-LibXSLT (on i586 only, invalid
free() )
Cheers,
Dominique

FYI,
Blender 2.81 is expected to be released today. It gained a new library
dependency: Intel Open Image Denoise https://openimagedenoise.github.io/.
That's submitted to graphics: 750057, in order to be submitted to Factory
soon.
Thanks to Stefan's courageous intervention, we're able to provide Blender 2.80
and 2.81 for all relevant Leap versions, as prepared in
home:frispete:blender.
For anybody interested in the topic: Blender is taking off in a much broader
way now, thanks to patron support of AMD, Epic Games and NVidia and many more
high potential sponsors in that business. https://fund.blender.org/
When my son and me attended to the the BCON 2019 last month, we were really
excited to speak to all these enthusiastic people and see such a great project
proper and rising.
Unfortunately, this movement isn't backed well from the Operating System side
of things. Here, we all know about the advantages of having a open, serious
development platform of the whole Open Source ecosystem, efficient package
management, iow. getting current software technology on the iron quickly.
That's my motivation to push things forward.
Please bear with me, if I'm treading on your toes accidentally.

Hi all.
A few days ago I realised that I'm not allowed to see kernel messages
any more. I'm absolutely sure I could see them before (with dmesg).
My Tumbleweed is up to date.
What do I need to change to get the permissions back?
Cheers,
Michael
The german message reads:
dmesg: Lesen des Kernelpuffers ist fehlgeschlagen: Die Operation ist
nicht erlaubt.
english would be something like: reading of kernel buffer failed:
operation not permitted

Hi,
As many of you already know and were engaged in that - we have two
packages related to Cilium and needed for Cilium container images -
envoy-proxy and cilium-proxy. They are failing since some time due to
Bazel being, let's say, a quite problematic build system for people who
want to do packaging of C/C++ software properly and do not like
downloading random stuff from Github during the build.
Recently we aimed to fix those packages in the following Factory staging
project:
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:adi:54
But the main submit request got rejected (which I don't mind and agree
with):
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/744892
It's almost a week since the rejection and I finally managed to have
green builds of cilium-proxy and envoy-proxy packages which do not
bundle any dependencies.
The project is here:
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:mrostecki:branches:devel:kubic
The most important package here:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:mrostecki:branches:devel:kubic…
As you can see, the home:mrostecki:branches:devel:kubic project has
quite a lot of packages. Some of them are new, some of them are just
modified packages which already exist in Factory or devel projects.
We will most probably need to either:
- add them all to adi:54
- start some new staging project when we will start everything from
scratch
@DimStar, @sysrich - WDYT?
I will start creating submit requests to devel projects and Factory
tomorrow and today I will just let all the stuff to rebuild on OBS - to
be sure that I really did my job.
I'm starting this email thread to share awarness of what I'm going to do
tomorrow, coordinate the whole effort of fixing *-proxy packages and...
hopefully... prove that I managed to solve the whole Bazel nightmare in
the way acceptable for Linux distro packaging (although in future I
will try to add some macros and try to make those specs less ugly).
Cheers,
Michal

==== mailutils ====
Version update (3.7 -> 3.8)
Subpackages: libmailutils5
- Update to mailutils 3.8
* The maidag utility is withdrawn (CVE-2019-18862, bsc#1156495)
The main purpose of this utility was to work as local mail delivery
agent (MDA), a program responsible for final delivery of email messages
to the recipient's mailbox. As such it required suid privileges.
In parallel with its main purpose, it also was able to work in two
other modes: the 'url' mode, designed to deliver mails to arbitrary
mailbox URLs, and 'lmtp' mode, in which it acted as local mail
transport daemon. Neither of these needed suid privileges.
The unfortunate design decision to combine the three modes in a single
versatile tool resulted in local privilege escalation threat in 'url'
mode.
To fix this, maidag has been replaced by three different utilities,
each one with a precisely defined purpose and carefully designed
privileges: mda, lmtpd, and putmail.
* mda
* lmtpd
* putmail
* Use of TLS in pop3d run from inetd
* comsatd --test

* * fix the semantics of 'hold' and 'keepsave' variables

==== mutt ====
Version update (1.11.3 -> 1.12.2)
Subpackages: mutt-doc mutt-lang
- Update to mutt 1.12.2 (2019-09-21):
+ $fcc_before_send, when set, causes Fcc to occur before sending instead of
afterwards. When set, the message is saved as-sent; please see the
documentation for details.
! $ssl_use_tlsv1 and $ssl_use_tlsv1_1 now default to unset.
+ $auto_subscribe, when set, automatically adds an email with the List-Post
header to the subscribe list.
! Fcc now occurs after sending a message. If the fcc fails, mutt will prompt
to try again, or to try another mailbox.
+ Basic protected header ("memory hole") support added for the Subject header.
See the config vars: $crypt_protected_headers_read,
$crypt_protected_headers_save, $crypt_protected_headers_subject,
and $crypt_protected_headers_write.
! Color names can be prefixed with "light" in addition to "bright". "bright"
colors are bold face, while "light" are non-bold.
! Color commands can now include an attribute (e.g. bold, underline).
! $pgp_use_gpg_agent defaults set.
+ <descend-directory> in the browser menu allows entering nested maildir
directories.
+ <group-chat-reply> replies to all, but preserves To recipients in the reply.
+ $include_encrypted, default unset, prevents separately encrypted contents
from being included in a reply. This helps to prevent a decryption oracle
attack.
! With gpgme >= 1.11, recipient keys with a trailing '!' now force subkey use,
as with classic gpg.
! In send mode, %{charset} mailcap expansion uses the current charset of the
file.
+ $imap_fetch_chunk_size allows fetching new headers in groups of this size.
This might help with timeouts during opening of huge mailboxes.
If you have huge mailboxes, you should also try $imap_qresync.
! <toggle-write> can be invoked from the pager too.
+ The $forward_attachments quadoption allows including attachments in
inline-forwards (i.e. $mime_forward unset, $forward_decode set.)
- Add patch mutt-Fix-SIGQUIT-handling.patch for boo#1156477e
* Mutt has an option to ask before quitting on ^C but quits immediately on ^4

* Common Table Expressions are allowed on read-only connections.
* Chris Morris*
* New record instantiation respects `unscope`.
* Ryuta Kamizono*
* Fixed a case where `find_in_batches` could halt too early.
* Takayuki Nakata*
* Autosaved associations always perform validations when a custom validation
context is used.
* Tekin Suleyman*
* `sql.active_record` notifications now include the `:connection` in
their payloads.
* Eugene Kenny*
* A rollback encountered in an `after_commit` callback does not reset
previously-committed record state.
* Ryuta Kamizono*
* Fixed that join order was lost when eager-loading.
* Ryuta Kamizono*
* `DESCRIBE` queries are allowed on read-only connections.
* Dylan Thacker-Smith*
* Fixed that records that had been `inspect`ed could not be marshaled.
* Eugene Kenny*
* The connection pool reaper thread is respawned in forked processes. This
fixes that idle connections in forked processes wouldn't be reaped.
* John Hawthorn*
* The memoized result of `ActiveRecord::Relation#take` is properly cleared
when `ActiveRecord::Relation#reset` or `ActiveRecord::Relation#reload`
is called.
* Anmol Arora*
* Fixed the performance regression for `primary_keys` introduced MySQL 8.0.
* Hiroyuki Ishii*
* `insert`, `insert_all`, `upsert`, and `upsert_all` now clear the query cache.
* Eugene Kenny*
* Call `while_preventing_writes` directly from `connected_to`.
In some cases application authors want to use the database switching middleware and make explicit calls with `connected_to`. It's possible for an app to turn off writes and not turn them back on by the time we call `connected_to(role: :writing)`.
This change allows apps to fix this by assuming if a role is writing we want to allow writes, except in the case it's explicitly turned off.
* Eileen M. Uchitelle*
* Improve detection of ActiveRecord::StatementTimeout with mysql2 adapter in the edge case when the query is terminated during filesort.
* Kir Shatrov*
==== rubygem-activestorage-6.0 ====
Version update (6.0.0 -> 6.0.1)
- updated to version 6.0.1
* `ActiveStorage::AnalyzeJob`s are discarded on `ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound` errors.
* George Claghorn*
* Blobs are recorded in the database before being uploaded to the service.
This fixes that generated blob keys could silently collide, leading to
data loss.
* Julik Tarkhanov*
==== rubygem-activesupport-6.0 ====
Version update (6.0.0 -> 6.0.1)
- updated to version 6.0.1
* `ActiveSupport::SafeBuffer` supports `Enumerator` methods.
* Shugo Maeda*
* The Redis cache store fails gracefully when the server returns a "max number
of clients reached" error.
* Brandon Medenwald*
* Fixed that mutating a value returned by a memory cache store would
unexpectedly change the cached value.
* Jonathan Hyman*
* The default inflectors in `zeitwerk` mode support overrides:
```ruby
[#] config/initializers/zeitwerk.rb
Rails.autoloaders.each do |autoloader|
autoloader.inflector.inflect(
"html_parser" => "HTMLParser",
"ssl_error" => "SSLError"
)
end
```
That way, you can tweak how individual basenames are inflected without touching Active Support inflection rules, which are global. These inflectors fallback to `String#camelize`, so existing inflection rules are still taken into account for non-overridden basenames.
Please, check the [autoloading guide for `zeitwerk` mode](https://guides.rubyonrails.org/v6.0/autoloading_and_reloading_constan… if you prefer not to depend on `String#camelize` at all.
* Xavier Noria*
* Improve `Range#===`, `Range#include?`, and `Range#cover?` to work with beginless (startless)
and endless range targets.
* Allen Hsu*, *Andrew Hodgkinson*
* Don't use `Process#clock_gettime(CLOCK_PROCESS_CPUTIME_ID)` on Solaris

==== rubygem-rubyzip ====
Version update (1.2.3 -> 2.0.0)
- updated to version 2.0.0
Security
* Default the `validate_entry_sizes` option to `true`, so that callers can trust an entry's reported size when using `extract` [#403](https://github.com/rubyzip/rubyzip/pull/403)
- This option defaulted to `false` in 1.3.0 for backward compatibility, but it now defaults to `true`. If you are using an older version of ruby and can't yet upgrade to 2.x, you can still use 1.3.0 and set the option to `true`.
Tooling / Documentation

* defer initialisation of ExecJS context to fix #165
==== rubygem-zeitwerk ====
Version update (2.1.9 -> 2.2.1)
- updated to version 2.2.1
* Zeitwerk raised `NameError` when a managed file did not define its expected constant. Now, it raises `Zeitwerk::NameError` instead, so it is possible for client code to distinguish that mismatch from a regular `NameError`.
Regarding backwards compatibility, `Zeitwerk::NameError` is a subclass of `NameError`.
[#]# 2.2.0 (9 October 2019)
* The default inflectors have API to override how to camelize selected basenames:
```ruby
loader.inflector.inflect "mysql_adapter" => "MySQLAdapter"
```
This addresses a common pattern, which is to use the basic inflectors with a few straightforward exceptions typically configured in a hash table or `case` expression. You no longer have to define a custom inflector if that is all you need.
* Documentation improvements.
[#]# 2.1.10 (6 September 2019)
* Raises `Zeitwerk::NameError` with a better error message when a managed file or directory has a name that yields an invalid constant name when inflected. `Zeitwerk::NameError` is a subclass of `NameError`.
==== setools ====
