==== pilot-link ====
Subpackages: libpisock9 perl-PDA-Pilot
- Add pilot-link-stop-messing-with-cflags.patch: Do not mangle
CFLAGS in an attempt to remove -Werror. The configure check for
that is too simplistic and our CLAGS contains
- Werror=return-type. The simplystic configure 'hack' only drops
- Werror, resulting on =return-type staing back on the command
line. Since we don't add -Werror by default to CFLAGS we can
safely ignore this hack and drop it.

- Update to binutils 2.32:
* The binutils now support for the C-SKY processor series.
* The x86 assembler now supports a -mvexwig=[0|1] option to control
encoding of VEX.W-ignored (WIG) VEX instructions.
It also has a new -mx86-used-note=[yes|no] option to generate (or
not) x86 GNU property notes.
* The MIPS assembler now supports the Loongson EXTensions R2 (EXT2),
the Loongson EXTensions (EXT) instructions, the Loongson Content
Address Memory (CAM) ASE and the Loongson MultiMedia extensions
Instructions (MMI) ASE.
* The addr2line, c++filt, nm and objdump tools now have a default
limit on the maximum amount of recursion that is allowed whilst
demangling strings. This limit can be disabled if necessary.
* Objdump's --disassemble option can now take a parameter,
specifying the starting symbol for disassembly. Disassembly will
continue from this symbol up to the next symbol or the end of the
function.
* The BFD linker will now report property change in linker map file
when merging GNU properties.
* The BFD linker's -t option now doesn't report members within
archives, unless -t is given twice. This makes it more useful
when generating a list of files that should be packaged for a
linker bug report.
* The GOLD linker has improved warning messages for relocations that
refer to discarded sections.

Hello,
I'd like to introduce the Tinkerforge tools brickd and brickv to Factory.
The brickd package contains a daemon that connects to Tinkerforge bricks
and bricklets and provides an API for various programming languages to
program them.
The brickv package contains a small GUI tool that connects to the brick
daemon to test the connected bricks and bricklets.
If you are now a bit curious about "bricks" or "bricklets", have a look
on the Tinkerforge documentation page for more details:
https://www.tinkerforge.com/en/doc/
The package sources are maintained here:
https://github.com/Tinkerforge/brickd
https://github.com/Tinkerforge/brickv
And here the submit requests to Factory:
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/738120
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/738121
Have a lot of fun!
Br,
Frank

Version update (049+git112.fe41ccd9 -> 049+git114.058e566c)
- Update to version 049+git114.058e566c:
* 35network-legacy: only skip waiting for interfaces if netroot is set (bsc#1152006)
* fixup "Dracut: only login to one target at a time" (bsc#1152650)
==== drbd ====
Version update (9.0.19~1+git.8e93a5d9 -> 9.0.20~1+git.7dce3c8b)
Subpackages: drbd-kmp-default
- Update to drbd-9.0.20-1
* fix a case of false split brain detection if a diskless node promotes
multiple times, by aligning the rules for generating a new current-UUID
on a diskless nodes with them on a node with disk
* check if we still have quorum by exchanging a drbd-ping with peers
before creating new current UUID after loosing one peer
* fix after weak handling to not interfere with reconciliation resyncs
* retry connect when one of the relevant flags changes during UUID exchange
* fix reconciliation resync if one of the secondary got an current-UUID update
* fix resync to make progress after it was paused by an other resync operation
* fix false split-brains when a resync source changes current-UUID during
resync operation
* fix restore of D_OUTDATED when the resource first only attached and
then the peer objects are created (in contrast to the usual, new-peer,
attach, connect)
* abort creating new current-UUID when writing to meta-data fails in
the moment where the new-current-UUID should be written
* removed DRBD marking itself as read-only when secondary; this flag
was exposed using the BLKROGET ioctl; that should be left to user-land
use; recent KVM checks that flag, and does not dare auto-promote when
set by DRBD
* fix a small memory-leak when creating peer devices
* fix a possible information leak of kernel memory that pads net-link packets
* completing implications of "allow-remote-read=no"; i.e. when not to
create a new-current-UUID as read-write access to the data set was lost;
also fail both reads and writes if reads are no longer possible
* new option value "rr-conflict=retry-connect"; that helps in scenarios with
quorum where stopping a service takes longer than a temporarily network
outage and DRBD's reconnect
* code cleanups, introduced enums for remaining magic numbers
* new kernel-backward-compatibility framework based on spatch/coccinelle,
replacing an unmaintainable moloch of C preprocessor hell; Merged the
complete kernel-compat submodule
* ships with pre-computed compat-patches for main distros' kernels; in case
an other kernel is found it tries to use local spatch, if that is not
installed the build process tries to use a LINBIT hosted web service
to create the compat patch ("spatch-as-a-service").
* compat with up to Linux-5.3-rc2
- Modify patch suse-coccinelle.patch to adopt spaas
==== enchant-1 ====
Subpackages: enchant-1-backends libenchant1
- Make enchant-1-backend-voikko require enchant-1-backends
(boo#1141993).

Version update (0.4.6 -> 0.4.9)
Subpackages: libmodplug1 libopenmpt0
- Update to version 0.4.9 bsc#1153102 CVE-2019-17113
* [Sec] libmodplug: C API: Limit the length of strings copied to
the output buffer of ModPlug_InstrumentName() and
ModPlug_SampleName() to 32 bytes (including terminating null)
as is done by original libmodplug. This avoids potential buffer
overflows in software relying on this limit instead of querying
the required buffer size beforehand. libopenmpt can return
strings longer than 32 bytes here beacuse the internal limit of
32 bytes applies to strings encoded in arbitrary character
encodings but the API returns them converted to UTF-8, which
can be longer. (reported by Antonio Morales Maldonado of Semmle
Security Research Team) (r12129)
* [Sec] libmodplug: C++ API: Do not return 0 in
CSoundFile::GetSampleName() and CSoundFile::GetInstrumentName()
when a null output pointer is provided. This behaviour differed
from libmodplug and made it impossible to determine the
required buffer size. (r12130)

* [Sec] Possible crash due to out-of-bounds read when playing an
OPL note with active filter in S3M or MPTM files (r12118).

[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - Review of the week 2019/41
by Dominique Leuenberger / DimStar 11 Oct '19
by Dominique Leuenberger / DimStar 11 Oct '19
11 Oct '19
Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
Just like the previous week, we have again released 4 snapshots since
last Friday (1003, 1004, 1007 and 1009). 3 more have been tested but
have been discarded by openQA; two of them only due to OBS being 'too
fast' and random failures marking a snapshot as failed; likely they
would have been ok. Snapshot 1010, on the other hand, was declined by
openQA as the yast software management was not usable due to an ABI
break. This has since been fixed and snapshot 1011 is expected to be
releasable again (currently building).
So, what did those 4 snapshots bring? Looking at the changelogs, I can
see those noteworthy changes:
* poppler 0.81.0
* Linux kernel 5.3.2 & 5.3.4
* systemd 243
* open-vm-tools 11.0
* qemu 4.1.0
Things being worked on and that are currently staged:
* GStreamer 1.16.1
* KDE Plasma 5.17.0: current alphas are staged and being tested
* GNOME 3.34.1
* Linux kernel 5.3.5
* Kubernetes 1.16
* createrepo_c 0.15: the new version is very strict on 'broken'
changelogs with control chars < 32. It will refuse to build
snapshots/metadata for every package it detects. You might have
received submit requests to address such issues: please accept them
* Mesa 19.2
* openssl 1.1.1d: breaks nodejs8, nodejs10 and python3
Cheers,
Dominique

[opensuse-factory] openSUSE:Factory - Build fail notification
by DimStar / Dominique Leuenberger 10 Oct '19
by DimStar / Dominique Leuenberger 10 Oct '19
10 Oct '19
Dear Package maintainers and hackers.
Below package(s) in openSUSE:Factory have been failing to build for at
least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the
configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no
fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.
- pam_wrapper
Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed
package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Factory.
Kind regards,
DimStar / Dominique Leuenberger <dimstar(a)opensuse.org>

fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.

Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed
package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Factory.
Kind regards,

Hi,
quite some time ago we introduced a MozillaFirefox-devel package which mainly
was meant to simplify addon packaging.
I'm looking for feedback if this is still used anywhere as by now the complete
addon ecosystem changed to webextensions.
The reason is actually that this -devel package gets a bit into the way for
parallel Firefox installations and I'm wondering if we can just get rid of it
entirely?
Thanks for any feedback,
Wolfgang

Hi,
tl;dr if you are trapped on Windows but need a TW shell every once in
a while, this one may be interesting for you:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Virtualization:/WSL/openSUSE_Tumb…
The Windows bits are also built in OBS. In the long run I hope we
can make this actually part of the release. 15.2 is also rolling
there. Longer story at
