Hi all,
We (the GNOME Team) are planning on dropping a few packages from
Factory. It's mainly packages that are no longer maintained and start
to cause trouble with newer GNOME versions anyway.
the 'main' offender is libbonobo (no, fixing it is not an option, it's
just a bandaid)
Together with this, we will drop this tree:
libbonobo :
bareftp (unmaintained, declared dead by upstream)
gnome-commander (if there is ever a new release with modern tech, it
might come back)
gnome-desktop-sharp2
gnome-do (probably not the biggest loss nowadays - but still sad to
see it go)
gnome-do-plugins
gnome-sharp2
ignuit
libbonoboui
libgnome
libgnomeui
mono-upnp
perl-Gnome2
taglib-sharp
tuxpaint (Bjorn submitted a version to the devel branch that should
work without these legacy deps - up to the maintainer to decide if they
want to keep it or not)
Cheers,
Dominique
