At my Kmail "akonadictl restart" comes with following information. I have re-installed my account with 20180202 and would not expect such a message. There is a lot of old and unused packages in Leap as well as in TW. As leap is close to a release i started the cleanup there. I wrote a script that based on the primaries.xml gave me a list of all rubygem-* packages which are not used by anything. Based on that list I created a bunch of delete requests. You can see the list with this commandline. osc rq list --non-interactive -t delete \ --target-package-filter='rubygem.*' \ openSUSE:Leap:15.0 If you want to keep any of the rubygem-* packages please comment in the request or here. Hi guys, I was installing openSUSE Leap 15.0 today to test some packages and I had a very unpleasant surprise. Back in the day when Weblate was introduced to translate openSUSE, I helped by doing a lot of work to translate things to Brazilian Portuguese. Usually, the Release Notes gives credit to the translators that have helped. The last time I checked, it was saying: #. [opensuse-factory] Wicked not getting an IPv4 address

After a recent update, I am no longer getting IPv4 addresses on Tumbleweed. I'm guessing that was the "wicked" update. It looks as if "NetworkManager" is still able to get an IPv4 address, but "wicked" cannot. My temporary workaround is to statically defined IPv4 address (and route). I'll note that Leap 42.3 on the same computer is still able to acquire an IPv4 address using DHCP. I'll probably report this as a bug later today. But I thought I would first ask if anyone else is seeing this issue. I am seeing this on two different computers. However, I also have Tumbleweed running in a KVM virtual machine, and it is doing fine there. [opensuse-factory] [Tumbleweed] dracut wails about not being able to disassemble device-mapper

Since a few weeks dracut spews about two pages of errors/warnings on shutdown. Yesterday I halted the system instead of poweroff to be able to read those and it seems that the unmount of /oldroot fails and then the disassembly of the device-mapper devices errors out (maybe there'd been other errors before that that already rolled off the screeb). Does anybody have an idea what is going on and how to fix it? [opensuse-factory] FF56 in Tumbleweed

I didn't see any mention of what I am supposed to do until I have used my second machine to figure out how much breakage FF56 creates for me with the plugins I am using and how to fix it. Hopefully that timewindow is going to be short, but if not, where would I get updates for FF52? Hello all: With the latest update of terminfo, I can no longer use 256 colours in a terminal. When I launch mc, it will fallback to the default 16 colour theme. Also the arrow keys do not work. If I set TERM to xterm-color, the arrow keys works again. I have tried this with several terminals with the same result. Have anyone else experienced this? Thanks. The thing is (quoting seife): This is due to /usr/src/linux-4.15.0-1.ga348749-obj/x86_64/default/scripts/extract-cert being linked against openssl. I've just installed openEMS w/ AppCSXCAD and on invoking the latter I get presented with: --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- invoking AppCSXCAD, exit to continue script... /usr/bin/AppCSXCAD: error while loading shared libraries: libmpi.so.12: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8--- The package openmpi-libs is installed, providing /usr/lib64/mpi/gcc/openmpi/lib64/libmpi.so.12, so I'm thinking that maybe the AppCSXCAD package is built with an incorrect library search path? I've already tried installing the 32bit version of those libraries, but they also do not get found. Hello, everyone. I've got a couple of issues after upgrading my laptop Tumbleweed installation to snapshot 20180207. The system now behaves in a strange way. In particular: 1. I can connect to a network but when I try to open a webpage, refresh my repos or otherwise use the connection it doesn't work, As if the system weren't connected at all. This is present with both wired networks and Wi-Fi. 2. The system doesn't react to root password being used in graphic mode. For instance, if I try to start YaST I get asked for a password. I give it and then nothing happens. 3. The system refuses to shutdown or reboot. It just hangs somewhere in the middle of the process. I thought this might be due to some minor thing that is fixed in the next snapshot so I upgraded again, this tme using a USB stick. Nothing changed. What the reason might be I don't have a clue, so I'm here asking for help. My laptop is a Toshiba with dualboot configuration (Tumbleweed + pre-installed Windows 8) and I use ext4 instead of BtrFS. Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, Finally back to getting the weekly review done on Friday. Week 6 is coming to an end and Tumbleweed delivered 5 snapshots in this time (0202, 0203, 0205, 0206 and 0207). Sone issues did slip past our QA system and sadly some users were hit by issues. More about that further down. The five snapshots delivered those updates: * Many yast fixes/changes, as detailed in the yast sprint review * Mesa 18.0.0 – responsible for the issues mentioned initially * NetworkManager 1.10.2 * ncurses 6.1 * LibreOffice 6.0.0.3 (RC3) * sqlite3.22.0 * KDE Plasma 5.12.0 * Linux kernel 4.15.1 * Mozilla Firefox 58.0.1 And those things are in the makings: * Linux Kernel 4.15.2 * GLIBC 2.27, with deprecation of sunrpc * Freetype 2.9 * VLC 3.0.0 Now some words about the issues of the last week: Mesa 18 (rc) was delivered to the users in snapshot 0203. After a few reports, it became apparent that Mesa is writing invalid cache data on the disk, which after being read, causes issues like white screens and such. The number of boots varied and openQA did not catch this – even though we do have reboots in the system tests too, this was not sufficient to trigger the failures. As soon as the problem was identified, a fix was prepared and published in the update channel and finally in the 0206 snapshot. Unfortunately, at that point, the saved disk cache was already invalid and users were forced to clean it out manually (remove ~/.cache of the user and also /usr/lib/sddm/.cache) At this point I’d like to thank all the users reporting the issue, the developers working on fixing the issue and the entire community to help each other out to find the right solutions for the problems found Cheers, Dominique

Hello, everyone! I've got a problem with my openSUSE Tumbleweed laptop installation. After upgrading to snapshot 20180207 I discovered that my system behaves strangely. It connects to a network (no matter wired or wireless) but when I try to open a webpage or refresh my repos it says that it can't find the server. As if it's not connected at all. That was the first problem. Then, the system just doesn't react to starting anything graphically as root (like YaST, for example). It just asks me for a password, I give it and then nothing happens. It also doesn't shutdown. It simply freezes somewhere during the process. Everything else worked okay. I thought that something could go wrong for some reason and tried upgrading it again using a USB stick. Nothing changed after that. So, I came here seeking help. What should I do to make my system work properly again? If it helps, I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with a dualboot configuration (Tumbleweed + pre-installed Windows 8). Sorry for so little technical detail. I just have no idea what could be the reason. Hi, have someone else have the same problem? After the last zypper up - the windowmanger seems to be have some errors Tho the plasmadesktop start anymore - only some windows of the first desktop are available - no menue nothing. After reboot - the screen is white - without any loginwindow or something else. Only if I move the mouse - the black curser will be available and moveable. [opensuse-factory] kvm_server pattern Leap 15 Beta?

I am testing Leap 15. I am not finding the kvm_server pattern like there was in Leap 42.3 I am unable to find anything in bugzilla either for this. Any ideas? Also the Yast selection for installing the hypervisor fails as well with a message in the log about not finding patterns-openSUSE-kvm_server. Wayne
