[opensuse-factory] Strange removal of translators credits in openSUSE Leap Release Notes
Hi guys,
I was installing openSUSE Leap 15.0 today to test some packages and I had a very unpleasant surprise. Back in the day when Weblate was introduced to translate openSUSE, I helped by doing a lot of work to translate things to Brazilian Portuguese. Usually, the Release Notes gives credit to the translators that have helped. The last time I checked, it was saying:
#. Put one translator per line, in the form of NAME <EMAIL>, YEAR1, YEAR2
#: xml/release-notes.xml:0(None)
msgid "translator-credits"
msgstr ""
"Luiz Fernando Ranghetti
Hi Ronan,
Seems that this commit creates all the mess:
https://github.com/openSUSE/release-notes-openSUSE/commit/02ea899f6770fda900...
Thanks for fixing.
Regards,
Luiz

Usually, the Release Notes gives credit to the translators that have helped. The last time I checked, it was saying:
#. Put one translator per line, in the form of NAME <EMAIL>, YEAR1, YEAR2 #: xml/release-notes.xml:0(None) msgid "translator-credits" msgstr "" "Luiz Fernando Ranghetti
, 2007-2014\n" "Ísis Binder , 2007-2014\n" "Ronan Arraes Jardim Chagas , 2015-2016” Now, it has:
#. Put one translator per line, in the form of NAME <EMAIL>, YEAR1, YEAR2 #: xml/release-notes.xml:0(None) msgid "translator-credits" msgstr "" "Luiz Fernando Ranghetti
, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, " "2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016” Did I miss something? Why the contributors of the previous translators have been removed? Notice that there are still a lot of text in Leap (including the Release Note itself) that was translated either by me or Ísis Binder.
I will modify the translation in Weblate, but this should not happen.

Oh btw, @VERSION@ looks a lot like a Makefile.in substitution placeholder, quite like a variable name, and should not be translated in the first place. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, it should not be translated. It will lead to many errors AFAICT. I have already corrected. Thanks, Ronan-- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
Indeed! Is the information I added about you right? Thanks! Ronan
