Hi all, This afternoon @work, i had to compare different openvpn-setups. For years I used openvpn on opensuse or sles without the need to recompile myself for funky options. However, today I wasn't pleased. I found that the compile-option pkcs11 had been turned off. (openvpn-2.3.6 @SLE_11_SP3, from the OBS) Effectively, this means that strong two-factor-authentication is not possible anymore without recompiling. A very serious step back with regards to security. For some it would turn this rpm useless. Can anyone elaborate if this was a SuSE decision? If so, why? Unfortuately, i'm forced to use also Ubuntu. On a 14.04_LTS, this option is left on. Hence I noticed the difference. I think our community will we helped if this important option was turned back ON again. Locally compiling yourself isn't such a big deal for me, but it might be for others. This one's amusing (well, it depends) - I've been playing with ntp multicast on ipv6 for a while. It works very well (on ff05::101), but today I noticed a tiny difference: An ntp client (A) that uses the ipv6 multicast: # ntpq -pn remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter ============================================================================== *fe80::202:a5ff: 192.168.2.254 2 m 12 16 376 -0.388 -23.481 2.378 An ntp client (B) that is configured as ipv4 broadcastclient: # ntpq -pn remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter ============================================================================== *192.168.2.137 .DCFa. 1 u 13 16 376 0.266 0.026 0.283 The time server (192.168.2.137,192.168.2.254) has a DCF77 receiver, and is stratum 1. Notice the _refid_. The question is - why does (B) see the time server as stratum 1, when (A) sees it as stratum 2? [opensuse-factory] New package to Factory: highlight

Hello, I'd like to submit package "highlight" from devel:tools to Factory. highlight [1] is a CLI syntax highlighter. It recognizes a lot of languages and produces colored output in HTML, XHTML 1.1, RTF, TeX, LaTeX, SVG, BBCode and terminal escape sequences. Everything is customizable via Lua scripts. A Qt GUI is also available (highlight-gui subpackage). The project is actively maintained since 2002. Last version is 3.28 (15.02.2016). [opensuse-factory] kernel-default-4.4.5-1.1.g09dee88.x86_64: erase failed

Running kernel stable on my system I was surprised that an update did not finish on one of my machines.Hereunder the error text after a whole night work (computer, I got a nice sleep) Downloading the new kernel and installing the latest one stopped at deleting the old kernel at 5% of the deleting process. As I could imagine that deleting the kernel which the system uses could be problematic I rebooted under the 4.4.1 kernel and retried to run the update. Same stopping at 5% progress. This update was done with zypper. The progress result with Yast stopped also at 5%. Before I do something more forceful to replace kernel- default-4.4.5-1.1.g09dee88.x86_64: with kernel- default-4.4.5-1.2.g09dee88.x86_64 I would be glad to get some advise from the list. [opensuse-factory] openSUSE Tumbleweed - Review of the week 2016/10

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, Despite the announced issue[0] and the fact that there has not been a new snapshot since this problem sneaked in, I still can cover 4 snapshots since the last review (0303, 0304, 0305 and 0307). The snapshots brought these exciting updates: * Plasma 5.5.5 * binutils 2.26 * OpenCV 3.1 * openssl 1.0.2g Despite new snapshots being blocked from release, ‘the factory’ is still hard at work and new additions are being integrated (and tested to not cause other/new issues). A lot is happening in stagings though: * TeXLive 2015 (only legal reviews pending) * Python 3.5.1 is almost there * Postgresql 9.4.6. The update will come with a warning: IMPORTANT Users of version 9.4 will need to reindex any jsonb_path_ops indexes they have created, in order to fix a persistent issue with missing index entries. The known bugs section for this week stays empty. Dear all, I would like to announce a change to the Release Management for OpenSUSE Leap. Effective March 1st, the torch will pass from Coolo to Ludwig Nussel. I think even if you were just on the side lines of the openSUSE community in the past years, you will not need a lengthy explanation of who they are and how they have contributed to openSUSE :-) Going forward, Coolo wants to focus more on establishing new practices around test automation, particularly in the context of openqa. Ludwig will assume the responsibility of supporting the community from the SUSE side in delivering openSUSE Leap releases. Tumbleweed stays in the able hands of Dominique Leuenberger. [opensuse-factory] USB mouse not working after boot beginning from kernel 4.4.0

Hardware: HP ZBook 15 G2, Logitech M-UAS 144 After the big drawback beginning from kernel 3.19, when nouveau began to be broken for the above hardware (until now), there is another one, introduced with kernel 4.4.0 in Tumbleweed: After boot/reboot, the connected USB mouse does not initially work in both cases, connected to the docking station and connected directly to the notebook. After disconnecting and reconnecting it physically the mouse works immediately. Sometimes I have been noticing the same behavior for the USB keyboard, but not everytime. I hadn't have this behavior before 4.4.0. Still not solved for 4.4.1. I cannot guarantee that this happens along with another update that came beside to kernel 4.4.0, usually I do a 'zypper dup'. Using sddm as display manager.
