Hi, I would like to drop lxde from DVD (not from online repos) by the end of this week unless someone steps up and says she's the maintainer. Because the last time I checked it was terribly outdated and I don't want that as main desktop choice on DVD. Hello, I need some help on getting apache2-2.4.6-5.1.x86_64 working on a local pc {127.0.0.1} and get this message[1] when i use firefox 127.0.0.1 Apache starts [2]when start is used rpms installed [3] other settings [4] Apache stops ok [5] when stop is used Using this documentation -> http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Apache_installation I am using 13.1 milestone4. [opensuse-factory] Problem with Brtfs.

I loaded milestone 4 and ticked the box to get BTRFS. It crashes when the install tries to format the partition. My main "play" sysem is down so I used Oracle VM Virtual box. The config is a 4 core AMD and the config is 12 g ram and single processor in Virtual Box. Error code is -3008 /dev/sda2 7.28gb disk size. - the error seems to be from suse rather than VMbox. The ext2 filesystem runs fine. Any ideas - disk too small or something? Because of https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=786318 I'm in the habit of setting a lock on the installed kernel, usually 'zypper al kernel-desktop', but sometimes kernel-default, depending on system, before doing a zypper dup; and when the dup is done, I unlock and dup again so as to minimize wasted bandwidth and time wasted uselessly building new initrds that will be replaced within minutes, if not mere seconds. Recently this stopped working, in that if kernel-desktop is installed and locked, kernel-default will be installed. If kernel-default is also locked, kernel-debug will be installed. If kernel-debug is also locked, kernel-pae will be installed. If kernel-pae is also locked, kernel-vanilla will be installed. Hi guys, first let me say I am not really into printer drivers. I got hands on a lexmark X7170 for a while and out of curiosity I tried to get it running under openSUSE_Factory - no luck. Google says no one ever gotten this printer to work with Linux recently (Kernel 2.2 drivers had existed :D ). This printer still works with windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.8 etc. Since MAC is using also CUPS isn't it quite affordable to invest into getting MAC printer drivers to run? I downloaded the MAC driver for the printer and extracted the compressed .dmg file using dmg2img to an uncompressed .dmg file which I then mounted (hfsplus partition). I found there and xar compressed archive which I extracted using 7-zip (the native xar program fails on doing so) and I found a folder containing the printer ppd file. Though it's only the .ppd file and not the driver (It's not a direct postscript printer) a few printer models very similar to this one works with openSUSE :( So would it be possible I get it running using the stuff in the MAC driver? Is it overall a good idea trying to do so? [opensuse-factory] openSUSE-Factory-NET-x86_64-Build0687 fails to create btrfs filesystem

Today i did try to make a test installation with openSUSE-Factory-NET-x86_64- Build0687 using btrfs. I removed an existing partiton and created a new one in place with the expert partitioner and choosed btrfs as filesystem for that partition. After starting the installation mkfs.btrfs finally failed with "error checking /dev/sda6 mount status". I opened https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=839391 for that issue. There was another issue during that installation. But i don't know if i should open a BNC for that, because its probably PEBCAC. Before the installation i had to change the CMOS battery and the BIOS was reset. And I forgot to disable the non-existing floppy in BIOS. I'm testing an lxc setup on opensuse 13.1 - issuing 'lxc-shutdown -n <container>' doesn't cause the container to shut down. With '-w' it just hangs forever.
