Hi! According to feature #313142 ("YaST support only SSSD for LDAP based authentication") we want to remove current nss_ldap/pam_ldap support from YaST modules and leave only support for SSSD. Target is next openSUSE realease (12.2). SSSD is there already now (12.1), but still only as an option. With new approach, we should of course provide a migration from current setups. However, this also means that we will stop supporting non-encrypted connections to LDAP server, because SSL/TLS is a requirement for SSSD. So you have to prepare your LDAP servers so they are able to provide TLS. Hello, Last week and today I experimented with journal on openSUSE Factory and Fedora Rawhide. For all details, please check my blogs: http://czanik.blogs.balabit.com/2012/02/journal-and-syslog-ng/ and https://czanik.blogs.balabit.com/2012/02/journal-and-syslog-ng-revisited-on… As I don't know, which is a bug or a feature, here is a list of openSUSE related problems, let me know which to report in bugzilla: - output from "logger bla" (and most of the syslog messages) does not show up in the journal (output of systemd-journalctl), only in /var/log/messages (on Rawhide all logs are stored in the journal and forwarded to syslog). - when replacing rsyslog with syslog-ng (zypper rm rsyslog), rsyslog keeps running. syslog-ng can't be started with "systemctl restart syslog.service". It turned out, that one also needs a "*systemctl deamon-reload". Could this be added to post install, or that would have additional side effects? - "rcsyslog stop" / "systemctl stop syslog.service" does not work, syslog-ng starts immediately again (also affects rsyslog). - after a "kill -9" on syslog-ng, "systemctl status syslog.service" shows syslog-ng active/running and exited/killed at the same time :-) It can't be started again by "systemctl start syslog.service" - I don't know, if /dev/log vs. /run/systemd/journal/syslog should be addressed in syslog-ng.conf Bye, CzP * -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe(a)opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner(a)opensuse.org

Hi, Could someone please take a look at https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?arch=x86_64&package=coreu… I am trying to keep the binaries in /usr/bin and somehow I managed that the file with the files to pack list is no longer getting picked up. The modified (as compared to Base:System) specfile can be found here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file?file=coreutils.spec&package=co… The changes are not very invasive and are mostly bracketed by #UsrMerge, #EndUsrMerge When building locally the bin.files file is created as expected and contains the expected content. Yet it appears that the file is being ignored, despite %files -f bin.files Help is appreciated. Hi I would like to introduce python-pymetar to Factory. The package currently is maintained in the devel:languages:python repository. This library downloads the weather report for a given station ID decodes it and provides easy access to all the data found in the report. The purpose of python-pymetar in factory will enable the introduction on the weather-wallpaper package currently proposed for GNOME:Apps -> Factory, this package contains the python bindings necessary for the weather-wallpaper.
