Hello,
When I want to blacklist nouveau with M1 and systemd I get this message :
sudo echo "blacklist nouveau" >> /etc/modprobe.d/50-blacklist.conf
bash: /etc/modprobe.d/50-blacklist.conf: Toegang geweigerd
Can this be solved on a way so I can enjoy Gnome3 with Gnome-shell

Again I needed to reload openSuSE 11.4 because a NET load of 12.1 failed
to boot. What failed was Desktop however, failsafe would boot. I think
it was a option in /boot/grub/menu.lst that this unit did not like. Now
I have 11.4 up again and it works ok, but it has NO hostname in a login
screen or uname -a . Yet /etc/HOSTNAME is set and /etc/hosts is correct
and all entries in it can be reached with ping. Yast2 was checked for a
Hostname and it was correct.
All logins show "(none)" and so does "/bin/hostname".
This is a Asus M4A7TD 4G X86-64 and NVidia GT-440. which is working

Hi,
With the standard 11.4 kernal the touchpad on my hp dmz1 worked
perfectly, but the upgrade to the 2.6.39-30 kernal in Tumbleweed
breaks it. I lose right click and click + drag functionality. There
are quite a few reports around the net of problems with this trackpad
(e.g., http://bigbrovar.aoizora.org/index.php/2011/05/24/better-clickpad-support-f…),
but it worked great out of the box with openSUSE 11.4. Maybe there is
some patch that did not get applied to the kernel in Tumbleweed?
The only openSUSE bug report I could find that looks related is
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=661427.
Best,

Oke,
Sorry for top posting,
But can anyone help me with this problem.
Or can I better use Factory so I can help testing systemd.
If I go to Factory what do I have to change to my sources ?
I use now the sources of 12.1

When I want to install empathy this happens.
roelof@linux-ucbb:~$ LC_ALL=C zypper in empathy
Root privileges are required for installing or uninstalling packages.
roelof@linux-ucbb:~$ sudo LC_ALL=C zypper in empathy

Problem: nothing provides libnotify.so.1()(64bit) needed by empathy-2.32.2-8.1.x86_64
Solution 1: do not install empathy-2.32.2-8.1.x86_64
Solution 2: break empathy by ignoring some of its dependencies

This is a factory build 45 system, minimal server install.
I've noticed some differences when I boot with systemd:
acpid is not started.
rsyslogd is not started
with sysvinit I would have a set of virtual consoles:
/sbin/mingetty --noclear tty1
/sbin/mingetty tty2
/sbin/mingetty tty3
/sbin/mingetty tty4
/sbin/mingetty tty5
/sbin/mingetty tty6
with systemd I have:
/sbin/agetty tty1 38400
/sbin/agetty tty2 38400
/sbin/agetty tty3 38400
/sbin/agetty tty4 38400
/sbin/agetty tty5 38400
/sbin/agetty tty6 38400

All,
I just put up a wiki article about SSD Garbage Collection.
I'm fairly sure I'm pretty accurate, but I thought there might be
another SSD expert or 2 who might review and edit the new page:
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:SSD_Idle_Time_Garbage_Collection_support
I just posted it, so I don't know how long before it is visible to others.
Thanks

hello,
When I use gnome fallback I have no problem with the mouse and keyboard.
I installed Gnome-shell and both are not responding anymore,
When I installed Gnome-shell with all the plugin I see these message :
There is a problem the system cannot repair.
Try to log off and aftter that try to login.
Anyone a idea what this can be.
I use M1 with systemd .

I've just done a fresh install of factory to see how systemd behaves. At
first I ran with init=/bin/systemd configured in lilo.conf. With this I
get hardly any console output? After an fsck of the /home volume,
nothing happens until I get the login prompt. Is intentional?
Then I tried just adding init=/bin/systemd at the lilo prompt, and now I
got a lot more of the usual output, although it seems to be a bit
garbled. Lines are overwritten, seems to jump up and down.
