As far as I know they'll release an 64bit version for Linux which
won't be officially supported. nspluginwrapper is very very welcome in
that sense.
Regards.

Wouldn't it be better to fix the real problem instead?

No, this is my personal opinion not how my system is setup.
I only ever use three partitions /(xfs), /boot(ext2) and swap.

Well, no actually that is not what the OP asked. The OP posted a feature
request asking that the installer default should be changed, not how
to change it after the fact. If the question had been how to change
it, the answer would have simply been YaST --> User and Group
Administration --> Expert Options --> Login Settings uncheck "Auto
login".
phani got it right, it's about who should have to click a (few) button(s)...
Having said that, there is a problem with the autologin system, and
that is that the kde config tools do not work. In my view this is the
actual problem. We can say "if you don't like the default, change it"
and that is fine. But then we see a big fat setting dialog in kde
system settings that says "enable auto-login" that DOES NOTHING, which
leads to a great deal of confusion about how one is actually supposed
to change this behavior. I believe that is what needs to be fixed.

Group;
1. Over the past 15 years I have downloaded and compiled about every
kernel basic and git from www.kernel.org and gotten them to work. I
have changed the CPU to match this one and the default name using make
menuconfig. I have tried over and over recently with no luck and
openSuSE. Using oldconfig and /proc/config.gz as .config and make
menuconfig. Both work just fine but mkinitrd fails - even though the
modules are built and installed in /lib/modules/. Both openSuSE
supplied kernel source and kernel.org kernels fail and have even cause
this system to need reloading from scratch.
2. I have gone through all gyrations looking for why at a login I get no
hostname but (none). And Apache2 complains about (none) at boot time.
The happened before and was fixed in 11.4 one of alpha/beta versions but
it is again broken

Hi,
I would like to introduce shorewall to Factory. The package has been
available for quite a time now at the devel project security:netfilter.
The purpose of having shorewall in factory will enable the enduser to
another tool for configuring a iptables based firewall, so in that
aspect it is not different for having various email clients, or web
browsers, therefore will enable the user freedom of choosing a frontend
for iptables.
The upstream package is in continuous development with active support
including mailling-lists and IRC
Below you will find information regarding shorewall. Hope it will get
into factory.
Thanks
Togan Muftuoglu
What is Shorewall?
==================
The Shoreline Firewall, more commonly known as “Shorewall”, is
high-level tool for configuring Netfilter. You describe your
firewall/gateway requirements using entries in a set of configuration
files. Shorewall reads those configuration files and with the help of
the iptables, iptables-restore, ip and tc utilities, Shorewall
configures Netfilter and the Linux networking subsystem to match your
requirements. Shorewall can be used on a dedicated firewall system, a
multi-function gateway/router/server or on a standalone GNU/Linux
system. Shorewall does not use Netfilter's ipchains compatibility mode
and can thus take advantage of Netfilter's connection state tracking
capabilities.

Dear users, watch, readers.
I've found that one of my favorite mirror, allowing rsync which is great for my local infra.
Has totally drop openSUSE_Factory or factory related things.
If I really can understand why download.o.o/repositories/home: is not synchronize
I would be happy to see more mirrors for openSUSE_Factory.
The missing mirror where openSUSE doesn't have so much place (compared to D & U)
mirrors.switch.ch
The mirror that has loose Factory things
ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/opensuse/repositories/
And you around the world, did you have trouble ?
How can we push mirrors to (re)adopt our beloved Geeko ?
Admin, board, can we have numbers ?
place/bandwidth needed by mirrors
Where should we store that informations (if it doesn't exist)
ps : reply only to ml, I'm already subscribed like you.

Hi,
About two months ago I received a message from darix regarding siproxd
package of the network:telephony project asking me to fix a couple of
issues as the package was not building for factory and he cannot push
the package to factory.
I have done that and submitted a request #67624
Now after two months the package is still in review process
67624 State:review By:toganm When:2011-04-16T08:00:13
submit: home:toganm:branches:network:telephony/siproxd -> network:telephony
Review by User is new: mjerris
Review by User is new: kamailio
Ths current package in factory is 0.7 and as we are in the milestone
phases wouldn't it be better to have such issues resolved in order to
have an up to date distro
Thanks

Dear devs!
I did a fresh installation of openSUSE 11.4 today, and I saw, that the
slideshow still says, that openSUSE ships OpenOffice.org as the default
office-suite. I don´t know, if it be changed in 12.1 M1, but if not, is
their any chance to keep that in mind *before* the next release is done?
It´s just annoying to see that OpenOffice.org is default, and
LibreOffice is really shipped as prefered.
Remember: if this still exists, please change it, if not forget about my
mail ;-)
kind regards
-kdl
PS: I hardly believe that it´s still so. The last change into the
copyright of the "openSUSE installer" is:
v.3.5.10 (c) 1996-2010 SUSE LINUX Products GmbH
Maybe this should be more recent too?

I was wondering which devel project it should live in?
Sorry I forgot an important point :
