Again you folks have screwed up scalc. in libreoffice. After a recent reload and a update scalc has no input from the keyboard. Does anyone ever check it before rpm it? [opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - systemd installed via dup - intentional?

Several hours ago I did a zypper dup on a Tumbleweed system. The next several boots took an eternity each to complete, and made a mess of boot message output until I figured out systemd had been installed. The init command was broken for switching among runlevels, keyboard was producing unexpected behavior, and boot was producing messages about problems with *.services. The fix was simple enough: 'zypper rm systemd systemd-sysvinit; zypper al systemd'. I realize Tumbleweed is rather young and somewhat experimental, but a testbed for systemd development it should not be. Because there´s something wrong with openFATE (should I file a bug?) I post my feature request here: ====================================================================== description: ============ In the installer of openSUSE 11.4 (and I guess also in 11.3, 11.2 and 11.1) the toolbox "log in with this user automaticly" or something like this is choosen as default. That means, if you just click on "next" during installation, you will auto log in with your user, when you start your system. This happens without any password-check. This might be good for people who just want to work with their PC and don´t think about the system. But it´s a big security risk. Think of you got personal files on your harddrive, and your user is logged-in automaticly. Now, other people can easy get access to your /home dir. They just need to start your PC. So, please, disable this by default! [opensuse-factory] 12.1 fails to

Hey Group; Since 12.1 won't work on this machine after 2 separate attempts I am back on 11.4. I get on an error on 12.1 over and over that causes a Nvidia GT440 current card to fails on every kernel boot but "failsafe". All that I see is a dark black blank screen and the CPU locks up. Question how do you stop the 11.4 error in KDE4 "System policies prevent you from getting the brightness level" from popping up about every 5 minutes. Hi All, I am glad to introduce cairo composite manager(CCM) to factory. As the name suggests, it's an X Window composite manager that uses Cairo for rendering. Some aspects I like it and hopfully you also agree with. 1. It is completely coded in Glib Object. Awesome. 2. It can work with any EWMH compliant window manager (Metacity, Openbox, etc.). A good replacement for xcompmgr. 3. Basically, you can run it without too much hardware requirement as it can run in 2D environment. 4. Regardless of it's simplicity compared to other composite manager, it also provides expandable via plugin. On the other hand, it has the shortcomings. 1. Bug is still plenty 2. Upstreams seems not very active recently Below is more detail information about CCM and hope it will get in factory eventually. :) What's Cairo Composite Manager ============================= Cairo Composite Manager is a versatile and extensible composite manager which uses cairo for rendering. Plugins can be used to add some cool effects to your desktop. It's capable of, but not limited to, rendering of drop shadows, setting window transparency, menu and window animations, and applying decorations. Like Xcompmgr, it does not replace an existing window manager, which makes it ideal for users of lightweight window managers, like Openbox and Fluxbox, who seek a more elegant desktop. [opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed systemd does not allow my computer to boot with /usr on a separate partition

Hello all, I recently installed systemd-18-1.2.4 and systemd-sysvinit-18-1.2.4 on Tumbleweed. However, during the reboot the system stalled. My system setup always has /usr in a separate partition. Is this the reason for the system stalling during the reboot? I could not recover. Is there a way to recover from this? Cheers!
