I can ssh normally to 11.2 and 11.3 servers from konsole.
Attempting fish or sftp gives this on server:
error: PAM: Authentication failure for vahis from
a88-112-9-172.elisa-laajakaista.fi
When ssh keys are made, then connection works fine though.
Then, another message, this is on the RC1 client logs:

pam_listfile(crond:account): Couldn't open /etc/cron.allow

Hello mates,
What happened to Kmix bass and treble settings in RC2?
Am I missing package?
It almost appears crippled in it's present condition.
Cheers!

openSUSE 11.3 on one box and openSUSE 11.4 Milestone 4 on the other.
I have a message that says the built modules not found. When I check
e.g /lib/modules/2.7.37-rc3-git7-smp, most modules are zero bytes long.
I have to "make modules_install" and use modprobe on each.
To get the network up on the 11.3 box "modprobe r6189" then "rcnetwork
restart", "modprobe rtl8187", "/etc/init.d/network-remotefs start",
etc., etc.
Then ifconfig is OK for those devices.

Hello,
can someone please trigger the rebuild of yast2-apparmor in Factory?
It contains a perl module in an outdated directory (for the previous
perl version), and a rebuild will put it into the correct directory.
For a longer-term solution, I have added
BuildRequires: perl-macros
%{perl_requires}
to the .spec so that future perl updates trigger a rebuild.
(SR 60630 is on its way to YaST:Head.)
See https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=670650#c1 for details.

Larry,
Add the 'Debug' repository, then install the NetworkManager's debuginfo and debugsource package, you'll get more information.

Hi,
As I needed a directory to put some openSUSE-specific data for each
user, I was looking at what directory to use. I was not aware of any
such directory, so after quickly asking around, I decided to use this:
if test "x$XDG_CONFIG_HOME" = "x"; then
XDG_CONFIG_HOME="$HOME/.config"
fi
SUSE_DIR="$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/suse"
So if anybody else needs a directory like that, please use the same one.
Note that XDG_CONFIG_HOME should be created with "mkdir -p -m 0700".
Doing "mkdir -p -m 0700 $SUSE_DIR" will not create XDG_CONFIG_HOME
with the right permissions, as far as I can tell (don't know if it's a
feature or a bug).
Cheers,
Vincent

I understand that there might be security issues, but so far, for this
scenario the only kind of attacker from which I need to protect my
desktop is from low-funded regular thieves that may break into my home
office, unlikely that will get pass the volume password prompt ;-)

Maybe making work the "discard" mount option ?

I would like something like this as well. One of the advantages I saw
for tumbleweed was to be able to just set up your repositories and
never have to touch them again. I know several people who refuse to
use openSUSE solely because they can't do this. So I think being able
to seamlessly upgrade to what amounts to a new openSUSE version
without needing to do anything more than your everyday updates would
be a huge benefit for tumbleweed.
