Hi, There is a new article at opensuse.org for those who would like to use the new feature "network configuration in first stage installation" but have a wifi connection only. http://en.opensuse.org/YaST/Wireless_Network_in_First_Stage_Installation This article contains an exemplary configuration for WPA-PSK encryption. Hi, Please, always you report or you are asked to report a bug for any YaST module (installation, soundcard, add-on-creator, ... package manager), attach YaST logs without waiting for >NEEDINFO< from the assignee. See http://en.opensuse.org/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST It speeds up the bug-solving process a lot ;) Sometimes these bugs just cannot be solved without checking the logs. [opensuse-factory] configuring tv card with yast doesn't load the modules after restart

I configured my tv card using yast (qt version), I had to edit the card params manually. All works fine. But after restart, the modules are not loaded, so I have to set it up again. I'm using RC2 with gnome, any suggestion ? Btw, this works fine under 10.2. [opensuse-factory] Evolution attachment icons missing

The attachment icons are missing for Evolution (openSUSE 10.3 RC1), at least for IMAP accounts. I've not tested this with POP or other accounts. [opensuse-factory] Intel G33 (GMA 3100) and dual head not working

Hello, dual head mode on chipset Intel G33 (graphic GMA 3100) is not working correctly. Both monitors are always using the same resolution, xinerama is not possible. Tested on Shuttle XPC G5 3300H, 19"-monitor, flat tv. Used openSUSE 10.3 RC1 64bit,configuration made with Sax2. Hi! * openSUSE 10.3 is sent to the fab, being available shortly (including as part of issue 22/2007 of the german c't magazine) * we have 73 critical for 10.3, which is roughly 40% more from what we have against 10.2 at the moment (and still 9 for 10.1) * as soon as the 10.3 final is available, I hope we see a lot of old bugs regression tested - and surely we'll see some new bugs coming in * we are currently preparing a i386 promo DVD, which features the two live images and an installation part. We had something very similiar for 10.2 too * we are preparing first online updates for 10.3 * planning for 11.0 will start as soon as we all got our 10.3 beer in the hands. We're still investigating how to open that planning phase in a coordinated manner - see also the logs of the last IRC meeting if you haven't been there. Hi, I'd like to push poppler 0.6 to factory/STABLE now that 10.3 has branched. Its been in BETA for a while and I can't see any breaks even though ABI built (although BETA seems to have a lot of non-building packages currently). [opensuse-factory] YaST-partitioner defaults to delete existing LVMs upon install

Hello, currently, YaST-partitioner will suggest to delete existing LVMs and re-partition the free space for a new installation. This is clearly a very bad idea for anyone who runs openSUSE in an LVM-environment. It should be no problem at all to change this non-sensical default as the YaST is perfectly capable of making a 100%-accurate LVM-based partitioning proposal that not only keeps the existing LVM intact but also suggests to re-format (LVM-)root only and create a mount-point for the existing (LVM-)/home. Unfortunately the bug has been declared 'INVALID' quickly and without discussion. I stil think that this behavior of the partitioner is highly undesirable and could easily be changed. It would be nice to be able to be able to have an option so these would show up with an option to not remove. The first time you see these will be removed is when the dependencies are resolved and zypper starts updating. These can be reinstalled without problems. There also is no consistency, e.g on one box upgrading to 10.3-RC1 removed skype, on the other it was kept. Worth a bug report? I'm assuming the trusted list is the cause.
