[opensuse-factory] Invoking user space resume from ???

I'm installing Alpha5, and when the 2nd stage starts, it stops at this point and says: Invoking user space resume from resume: libgcrypt version .... resume: could not stat resume device file Please type in file name or press ENTER to boot the system. I haven't reported this as a bug yet, coz' I suspect it's my own fault. I'm PXE-booting, so when I did the install, I used no bootloader config. Why does the startup think I want to resume? I just installed alpha5, and was a bit surprised to be told that for complete Danish language an addon cd is needed. I understand that some languages will be placed on an addon cd (cd7). .. it's a bit sad, being the coordinator of Danish translations, to find out that Danish users will have to jump through hoops to use the translations we make. Which wasn't necessary in the past.. And this time around 100% will be translated, and at a decent quality - I guarantee it. Which languages will be put on the addon cd? How are these selected? Who will need the addon cd. DVD5 users? DVD9 users? CD1-5 users? [opensuse-factory] Alpha 5 installation and setup issues

I just did a new attempt with 10.2 alpha 5 x86_64 on a Dell Precision 490 Xeon workstation. Happily the alpha4 USB mouse problem was fixed and the Gnome dekstop was possible to start testing. But I encountered several issues during the installation or with the setup after login, as noted below. Selected installation of Gnome as default desktop (+ most of Gnome and KDE incl. Desktop Effects and Remote Desktop), Xen server and other server utilities (NFS, Print, File, Web & LAMP). Even the Internet connection test with latest version notes responded OK, yet the following, suggested online configuration responded a fault with the Internet connection and didn't work! After login to Gnome, there was 17 software updates available. But the Zen updater ran into "Dependency Resolution Failed" error (as usual). Didn't come further with this. During the installation configuration my NVIDIA Quadro FX550 card and Dell 2405 FPW WUXGA monitor were automatic detected and setup correct with 1920x1200 resolution and 24 bit colordepth using the OSS "nv" driver, Fine! But I wished to use 3D for Xgl/Compiz and installed the latest NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64 proprietary driver according to the Howto for Suse users. So far so good. Went afterwards into Gnome Control Center > Desktop Effects to enable 3D and Xgl. Both 3D and Desktop Effects were disabled. Though my Quadro FX550 is still on the "not tested yet" part of the xgl HCL, it was NOT even possible to force enabling 3D/Xgl with the suggested Shift and dual click! It was neither possible to start SaX2 from the button in Desktop Effects, nor from the traditional program menu added to the panel. Started ok from YaST2>Graphic Card and display, but 3D was greyed out in SaX2 and it didn't sound possible to get 3D enabled there. Tried also "glxinfo" in a terminal, but the command wasn't found, remarkable as this did work in 10.1. Among other issues I noticed on my first test are: Starting YaST2 from an added launcher on the panel, doesn't ask for a privileged password, but starts YaST2 in the limited "user mode" directly. Trying to add a launcher for "Monitoring CPU frequences" to the panel, responded this tools wasn't supported. Wished to cusomize my login window preferences, but it didn't start from the menu i.e. More aplication>System>Login Windows, and responded with error message "gdmsetup", no such file or map. A visual issue in application's pulldown menus (i.e Firefox), is that when pointing on menu entries with the mouse pointer, the activated text becomes invisible (maybe due to a text vs background color issue) Tried to download (rpm) files with Firefox, and it worked only using left- lick on the url to download directly on the desktop. Using the normal right-click to save the file on a selected file/map didn'work. Nothing happened after Clicking the "Save" button. Comments, suggestions, confirmations or other experiences? Hello, i burn a DVD with K3B on a SL10.1, K3B tell me the md5sum are identical ? A check from the MD5SUMS on the iso is OK ? [opensuse-factory] DVD iso?

Searching for the Alpa5 I thought: Is it be much extra effort to make available (and also get tested!) the DVD iso at the same time as the CD isos? DVDRW burners have been usual several years and simplify the inflation of amounts of disks and the installation work itself. Just my suggestion. Rgds, Terje J. Hi All, Alpha 5 installs OK as long as I dont mess around with the proposed solution regarding the X config. As soon as I even think of touching SAX to configure my screen the screen goes wild. I can not test it since CT+ALT+BSpace leads me to nowhere. Next time i start the system it returns to a wild screen..... Only option is to go out the hard way by cutting the power. How do I set up GRUB in order to obtain a level 3 (without X) startup option so that I can reach YAST and SAX --- If, while downloading iso a5, there are so many leachers why does Ktorrent closes its opperation fter my download is complete.??? I was away and my ktorrent should have provided more people with open source software... Where is the switch to make ktorrent behave more in a socialist way since it is not costing me a penny extra.... Hugo

Just as a curiosity I'll mentione that I had (yes, still have) a predecessor hardware, Intel PII/N440BX Astro server running NT4TS. I tried to install Redhat 8 on it, but that attempt failed as it didn't find the SCSI disks in the hotswap panel, truly due to lack of a proper driver.
