Hi,
I'm frequently updating Xorg for my OS 12.3 from
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_12.3/
An update from today (/etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup from package
xdm-1.1.10-65.1.x86_64.rpm) contains a typo, that prevents the
displaymanager from starting up:
---
xdm[1105]: /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup: line 206: syntax error near unexpected token `then'
--
It's a simple typo, line 206 should read
---
if test -s $defxkbmap -a -x $xkbcomp ; then
---
Regards,
--D.B.

Hey there,
while seeing the new submit request
(https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/197847) and with it the loss of
the comments to the previous submit request (hidden in that request),
here now a message to all involved (and interested) people.
Johannes,
personally i'd really like to have your changes in Mesa but sumski and
i, we had some concerns noted in the comments of the previous SR (maybe
you want to look at them):
- Do you think this is stable enough for 13.1? (or at least a broader
audience not willing to test bleeding edge software)
- Will this go into Mesa mainline soon? Anytime? It's quite a deviation
from upstream.
- Why did you remove several packages?
- Split the huge patch for easier overview.
PS: Hopefully i did understand your comment right sumski ;)
Thanks,
Tobias

I fresh installed an i915G system Saturday. X was using FBDEV instead of
Intel, sluggardly 1152x864 instead of decent 1920x1440. After some time
trying to figure out what was goind on I realized I had had a G84 card
installed at installation time, since pulled. Before I realized installation
included neither Intel nor ATI drivers, I noticed lsmod output included
nouveau. Why?
Since installing Intel driver (and upgrading kernel from rc7), nouveau is
properly missing (and i915 included).
