Hello,
the intellegacy driver in 11.4 causes the X server to segfault
shortly after being started by gdm (I've attached the backtrace).
Is this the known problem mentioned in
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=671140#c5 and if so,
has there been any progess?
The regular intel driver with KMS seems still broken for me with
oS 11.4 albeit in a different way this time. I have strong
suspicion that it causes the hard freezes that sometimes happen
between seconds and a few minutes after resuming from
hibernation, there is no kernel panic, nothing in the logs, sysrq
keys and network are dead. I'm not sure how to produce a useful
bug report out of this.

Hello,
when using the intellegacy driver the xserver segfaults shortly
after being started by gdm. In order to get a backtrace I've
moved the Xorg binary and replaced it with a wrapper that calls
it through gdb as outlined in
http://wiki.x.org/wiki/Development/Documentation/ServerDebugging#Version1.
This apparently starts the xserver (as I can see from the
logfile) but then gets stuck with a black screen. The same
happens when starting it through startx rather than gdm and
attaching to the xserver after starting it is not an option since
it only lives for a second or so.
What's wrong here, how can I get a backtrace?

Intel and radeon have this option available, which Xorg.0.log reports is
unused with nv. What is available that corresponds to its result for nv,
necessary when EDID is defective and the CRT supports up to 2048x1536, which
nv assumes is wanted, but less than that is actually wanted as initial X
mode? The nv man page doesn't seem to have anything close. Without an
equivalent, either xorg.conf must be used, or else both 50-monitor.conf and
50-screen must be used, to get both desired startup resolution and DPI.
