hi list,
i had the opportunity to test a DELL 2407 TFT with i945.
It worked fine for 1600x1200 but i could not get the 1920x1200 Resolution working
because SAX2 offered 1920x1200@75 while the monitor supports 1920x1200@60.
before i start playing with modeline is there any help that sax2 can me offer ?

Hi everyone,
As I didn't have much luck getting fglrx to set the external monitor of
my laptop to 1680x1050, I tried if I could do this with the radeon
driver.
I _almost_ succeeded after I upgraded to Xorg 7.3 from the corresponding
OpenSUSE 10.3 repository. The signal to the monitor is 1680x1050.
However, the desktop is still rendered in the laptop panel's native
resolution, 1400x1050.
After an inquiry on the Freenode #radeon channel I was told that the
radeon driver was too old: 6.6.193 whereas the right version to support
RandR 1.2 is 6.7.19x.
Is this updated driver available somewhere for OpenSUSE 10.3?
Thanks,

Dear listmembers,
to whom it may concern: I use an AGP RX2600Pro card from MSI. When configuring
as described using
sax2 -r -0=fglrx
the string
Section "Device"
BoardName "RX2600Pro"
#BusID "1:5:0"
Driver "fglrx"
"BusID" causes trouble, the driver cannot start 3D acceleration. Messages like

The solution is _very_ simple: comment out the line
"BusID" and everything (besides the good old mutex-errors) seems fine, 3D is
functional.
Please check with the ATI developers what is going wrong here. I posted a
similar message into the ATI-driver feedback!
Take care
