Hi,
I have a notebook with ATI mobility Radeon 9600 and
i installed suse 9.2 linux with Xorg 6.8.1
I also applied fglrx 8.16.20 package from ATI 's website
and then I tried with fglrxconfig ...
but X cannot start ... seems grey, the basic KDE window appears and
then all
are become grey again ..
my xorg.log gives some getmodelines at the end ...
May I practise with fglrxconfig monitor syncs or
I need other basic packages ? kernel, Xorg ... ?
Thanks in advance
Yiannis
hi,
does anybody know, when there will be a X.org 6.9/7.0 for suse9.3?
or at least a new version of 6.8.2 for suse9.3?
with the 6.8.2 included in suse9.3 there is a problem:
with an Intel(r)865G Graphics Controller and an hp p930 19" monitor i
only get 74hz@1600*1200 whereas with 6.8.2rc2 (and all former releases)
i get 85hz@1600*1200 with the same hardware.

Dear All,
I am currently running SuSE 9.1 on a Thinkpad R50p using the ATI fglrx driver downloaded from a SuSE mirror FTP.
In case I upgrade to version 9.3 (using the upgrade option instead of the new install one) do I need to reinstall and reconfigure these drivers, or Yast will do it automatically?
I am guessing that I have to download and reconfigure.
Thanks
Tibi
