Hello everyone,
I hope this is the right list, if not dont hesitate to tell me.
I am using the vnc-feature, that Yast/Sax2 has, to publish the whole
x-server via vnc. This adds some entries in xorg.conf, and works like a
charm. As soon as the x-server is up, I can connect to it via vnc.
BUT: If I am using vncviewer on another linux machine, I do not get a
working keyboard layout. And this far I have found no way to tell either
the vnc-server or the viewer which layout I would like to use. When
connecting from a mac via JollysFastVNC I can tell the viewer to use the
remote layout, and then I get the layout I want.
Any thoughts/hints/tricks? Where to change that setting? xorg? vnc.conf?
When starting the viewer?
Thanks in advance,
OJ

hi list,
some time ago i posted about the probles with rgb.txt that was removed in newer version of xorg-x11 (>=7.0).
I was trying the 'xcmsdb' cmd. Here is a much more simple solution:
example file: cms
XCMS_COLORDB_START 0.1
TEST1 RGB:ed/f8/b1
TEST2 RGB:c7/e9/b4
TEST3 RGB:7f/cd/bb
TEST4 RGB:41/b6/c4
TEST5 RGB:1d/91/c0
TEST6 RGB:22/5e/a8
TEST7 RGB:0c/2c/84
TEST8 RGB:8b/00/8b
XCMS_COLORDB_END
export XCMSDB=<path>/cms
you will notice that xterm -bg TEST1 will fail before the export.
note: i found the parser in very unstable since no error propper cheching is done,
return codes not checked etc.

I used the Nvidia GUI too further configure my system's
display. I increased the resolution to 1400x900 (refresh rate
is set at "auto), but the definition of all windows' labeling
are quite blurry.
When I bring up a terminal, the same is true, very blurry.
Any suggestions??
I hope was clear with my brief description.
Thanks,

Current X.Org development is now provided by X11:XOrg (previously
home:sndirsch:xorg74). BTW, I also removed xorg7 and xorg72 some time
ago (no complains so far). I'm using X11:XOrg for testing before I
submit a package to Factory. It's also built for the currently
available openSUSE version (10.3 at the moment), because I'm using
this version at home. I'm using Factory in the office. If there is
strong demand for 10.2 I can enable the build for 10.2 as well. But
then this is completely untested by me. Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Stefan
