Dear listmembers, to whom it might concern: if you suffer from strange stripes around your mouse-cursor or / and striped areas on the right lower corner of your screen, put a line Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "true" into the Device - section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf. I found this by googling around and it _really_ helps. Can only talk about Radeon 9600. See also http://search.webservertalk.com/message2131453.html same issue, same solution! Maybe someone at openSUSE could put a corresponding hint somewhere in the wiki? I would do myself if you'd provide a pointer where to write it to. [opensuse-xorg] AIGLX

Sent this email some time ago to -factory, but didn't hear much, so I'll send it over here too: Users tend to ask about AIGLX quite a bit. Why do we not have this enabled by default, where possible? Xgl is nice and a lot of people prefer it (including myself), but a lot of people prefer using AIGLX too. Having it enabled by default where possible of course also provides the possibility of switching between compiz/kwin/metacity easier too. If not setting it up by default, perhaps we could consider having a script similar to gnome-xgl-switch for setting it up a little more easily for users. Any thoughts?
