I installed just the minimum graphical system. But my screen configuration was wrong and I got a blank screen when I boot suse.
I then decided to boot in fail safe mode and edit /etc/X11/XF86Config manually. When I ran startx I got this error
X Error of failed request:...
Major opcode of failed request: 91 (X_QueryColors)
Value in failed request: 0xff
...
I am using suse 9.1 .
I am pretty sure my monitor frequencies are correct.
My graphics adapter is trident cyberblade/i1 and I am using the "trident" driver. I think this is correct too.
Can this be a problem of resolution?
I am not sure how xfree86 picks a resolution from the configuration file.
