Ilya,
I'm not sure if this has to do with the kde3 config or one of the other
desktops, but each time I sudo, I get the following in the journal:
pam_systemd(sudo:session): pam_putenv: delete non-existent entry;
XDG_RUNTIME_DIR. XDG_RUNTIME_DIR is set by the kde3 init somewhere along with
the XDG_SEAT=seat0 and XDG_VTNR=7 presumably to address the user session
tracking in systemd, but is there a pam cleanup needed somewhere also? The
current setting is:
XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=/run/user/1000
Let me know if you want to see anything else, or if this is not kde3 related.

Hello, everyone!
Just wanted to inform you that from the project KDE:KDE3:Trident it is now
possible to install the KDE3 packages modifyed by the
patchset Trident by Serghei Amelian.
The packages still have some issues (not passing the post-build-checks,
which I disabled). Please report any issues you may encounter.
Especially check the following
- Auto-mounting and unmounting media. The patchset includes a polkit client,
also sync mounting is disabled in Trident.
- New Kpowermanager (not available in Factory).
- Check for sound issues (Trident uses Arts while openSUSE's KDE3 uses Kde
Media Manager).
- Check whether all the power off & suspend & hybernate dialogs work
properly.
- Check everything else.
To test Trident you have to replace three packages from the Trident
repository: qt3, kdelibs3, kdebase3.
Here is a list of Trident repositories for different openSUSE releases:
