Hi! I am about to install openSUSE 12.1 on a laptop. I want to use it mainly (or entirely) with the KDE3 desktop but I still want to be able to run KDE4 applications under KDE3. In the past, I have done this with openSUSE 11.3 and 11.4. During installation of 11.3 and 11.4, I selected KDE4 as the default desktop. [opensuse-kde3] Problems with screensavers

Actually, this appears to be a problem that has been an increasing pain since I first ran across it in V12.1. The symptoms go a bit like this. When I try to open the screensaver settings from the "Configure Desktop" right-click option, the window opens for a couple of seconds, showing "Loading..." in the screensaver selection area. Hello: openSUSE 12.3 with KDE3 hal-enabled kdebase3 packages.
