Starting here before going to bugzilla on it . . . for several weeks now Slow Roll does not revive from suspend . . . continuing after the recent package upgrades . . . . Had similar issues in Leap 15.6 that seemed to be fixed by kernel upgrade, but the same kernel now in Slow Roll is not able to "wake up" . . . . Actually the machine itself revives with keyboard clicking, but the display stays black.
I usually pick "nouveau" or "default" for my video driver, but I don't recall in the installer that there was an option to do that, or a question about video driver. In Slo Roll lsmod there is no mention of "video" nor anything showing "nouveau" . . . but, now in TW I have multiple line items showing nouveau. No problems with TW at the moment as far as revival from suspending goes.
Any thoughts, happy to check them out when I get back to Slo Rolling.

Hello,
after updating from snapshot 20231126 to 20231127 audio is broken on my
system. Snapshot 20231127 contains pipewire 1.0.
I installed 20231127 yesterday before shutting down the system. When
starting it today I noticed that the Spotofy app refuses to play any
track. Then I found that the speaker in system tray was disabled. When
checking my audio configuration it didn't find any audio device anymore.
So I went back to 20231126, locked the following packages and rebooted.
#zypper ll
# | Name | Type | Repository | Comment
--+----------------------+---------+------------+--------
1 | kpipewire-imports | package | (any) |
2 | libpipewire | package | (any) |
3 | libwireplumber | package | (any) |
4 | libwireplumber-0_4-0 | package | (any) |
5 | pipewire* | package | (any) |
6 | wireplumber | package | (any) |
Then I updated to 20231127 again, rebooted, and.. audio still works.
hwinfo finds these audio devices:

I'm using the audio device an the Asus mainboard (Intel HD Audio). Is
there anything special to configure after updating from pipewire 0.3.85
to 1.0.0? Unfortunately I didn't run hwinfo with pipewire 1.0.0 installed.

``STYLE_MAP`` variable, which uses a different format,
is kept for backwards compatibility.

terminal``) which pulls in dependencies for colored
console output. See :doc:`cmdline` for more details.

extension of the output format

* This change is transparent to most users. Distribution
packagers who build without build isolation need to add
hatchling as a build dependency and remove setuptools.
People downloading source distributions and wheels from PyPI
directly should note that they now have ``pygments`` in their
file names instead of ``Pygments``.

processing the snippets and example files

maintain

third-party documentation and search indexes.
* Fixed the API breakage wih decoder.decode(substrateFun=...).
* A substrateFun passed to ``decoder.decode()`` can now be
either v0.4 Non-Streaming or v0.5 Streaming.
pyasn1 will detect and handle both cases transparently.
* A substrateFun passed to one of the new streaming decoders is
* still expected to be v0.5 Streaming only.

using sqlite3 through the Document portal.
+ Properly resolve fd symlinks before opening them with
O_NOFOLLOW.
+ Fix cases where the portal id is assumed to match the .desktop

should make it possible to, among other things, drag and drop
folders and files simultaneously from and to sandboxed
applications.

absence of any other portal or configuration file, as a last
resort mechanism.

> *§ 1 General Information*
> Your contractual partner for all orders within the scope of this online
> offer is sprd.net AG, of Gießerstraße 27, 04229 Leipzig, Germany (listed
> in the Commercial Register at the Local Court of Leipzig under number HRB
> 22478), hereafter referred to as "Spreadshirt"
> <https://www.spreadshirt.co.uk/?affiliateId=1256549>.
> All deliveries from Spreadshirt to the customer are carried out based on
> the general terms and conditions given below. These underlie all offers and
> agreements between Spreadshirt and the customer and are accepted for the
> duration of the whole business relationship. Opposing or deviating
> conditions of the buyer are only binding if Spreadshirt has agreed to them
> in writing.
> *§ 2 Responsibility for Online Offer*
> (1) Two shop types are available on Spreadshirt´s platform. First, there
> are shops which are designed and operated by Spreadshirt itself
> (“Spreadshirt shops“), and second, there are shops which are designed and
> operated by independent shop owners (“partner shops”). Information on the
> respective owner of a shop can be viewed via the link “legal information“
> in the respective shop.
> (2) Spreadshirt is responsible for the articles and motifs offered in a
> “Spreadshirt shop” as well as the overall design of the shop.
> (3) The Shop owner assumes sole responsibility for marketing,
> configuration and arrangement of the Shop as well as the articles and
> designs on offer. Spreadshirt does not appropriate the Shop owners’ content
> and ideas as long as these do not meet the regulations of this GT&C or the
> regulations of the Partner GT&C
> <https://www.spreadshirt.co.uk/-C10183?affiliateId=1256549>. In
> particular, this applies to breaches on the part of Shop Operators of the
> obligation to apply Spreadshirt’s General Terms and Conditions in their
> shops vis-à-vis the end Customer.
> *§ 3 Conclusion of the Contract*
> (1) The “offers” contained on the website represent a non-binding
> invitation for the customer to place an order with Spreadshirt.
> (2) By filling in and sending off the order form on the Internet, the
> Customer makes a binding offer for the conclusion of a contract of purchase
> and/or a contract for work and materials. Before finally sending off the
> order form, the customer has the opportunity to check that his/her details
> are right and if necessary to correct them on a summary page. The following
> languages are currently available for the ordering process: German,
> English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish,
> Polish, Finnish.
> Then Spreadshirt sends an order confirmation via e-mail to the customer
> and examines the offer regarding its legal and effective feasibility, in
> particular any possible infringement upon trademark rights of third
> parties. The order confirmation does not represent an acceptance of the
> offer but shall only acknowledge to the customer that their order was
> received by Spreadshirt.
> The contract only materialises when Spreadshirt dispatches the product
> ordered to the Customer and confirms the dispatch to the customer with a
> second e-mail (“Shipping Confirmation”). The details of the order can also
> be viewed online in the user profile under “Orders” on www.spreadshirt.net
> <https://www.spreadshirt.net?affiliateId=1256549>.
> (3) In connection with §2 (3) Spreadshirt as platform provider cannot
> pre-examine all print designs created by customers or shop owners for
> possible breaches. Spreadshirt reserves the right to reject received orders
> within the legal period of acceptance if, during the ordering process, it
> becomes known or it is suspected that third-party rights or statutory
> regulations will be violated by a print design.
> (4) The conclusion of the contract shall depend on punctual and correct
> supply of the goods to Spreadshirt. This proviso shall not apply in the
> event of short-term disruption to deliveries or if Spreadshirt can be held
> responsible for non-delivery, in particular if Spreadshirt fails to make a
> congruent hedging transaction in good time. The Customer will be informed
> immediately that the service is not available. If Customer has already paid
> for the goods, this money will be reimbursed.
> *§ 4 Delivery / Shipment*
> (1) In principle, delivery is made within three weeks from the date when
> the Customer receives confirmation of his/her order. Delivery dates and
> times are only binding if they are expressly confirmed as such by
> Spreadshirt in writing.
> (2) Delivery is available to Germany and many other countries: More
> information can be found at www.help.spreadshirt.com/hc/en-gb
> <https://help.spreadshirt.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207165489>.
> (3) Delivery shall be conducted by a shipment service provider chosen by
> Spreadshirt. The customer has to pay standard shipping costs which may
> depend on order value, and where it is shipped to.
> (4) If in exceptional circumstances delivery is not possible within the
> period of three weeks after conclusion of the contract mentioned in (1),
> Spreadshirt shall promptly inform the customer about it in writing, at the
> latest with the expiration of this time limit (§ 126b of the German Civil
> Code). The customer is then entitled to a right of withdrawal, which they,
> in turn, shall exercise immediately in writing (§ 126b of the German Civil
> Code).
> *§ 5 Prices*
> (1) For customers from EU countries, Switzerland, the United Kingdom,
> Norway, Liechtenstein, Monaco and the Isle of Man, the indicated prices are
> final. They include the statutory taxes incurred, in particular value added
> tax (VAT). The delivery address is decisive.
> (2) For buyers outside the EU (except for buyers from Switzerland, the
> United Kingdom, Norway, Liechtenstein, Monaco and the Isle of Man) and for
> buyers from territories in EU states with special VAT treatment (see
> Article 6 Directive 2006/112/EC
> <https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/ALL/?uri=CELEX:32006L0112>), all
> prices quoted are net prices. The delivery address is decisive. If VAT is
> due in accordance with the statutory provisions in the recipient country,
> the customer must also pay this upon receipt of the goods. In addition,
> import duties, customs clearance costs as well as other costs and levies
> may be incurred, which the customer must pay additionally upon receipt of
> the goods.
> (3) Shipping costs are to be borne by the customer, which may depend on
> the order value and the place to which delivery is to be made.
> *§ 6 Payment*
> (1) The customer chooses the method of payment, which may be direct debit
> (SEPA direct debit mandate), credit card, advance payment, PayPal or direct
> transfer. Spreadshirt reserves the right of restricting the number of
> payment methods that a customer can choose from on the basis of factual
> criteria, as for example the order value. In case of direct debit payment
> (SEPA direct debit mandate), Spreadshirt will submit a pre-notification
> along with the order confirmation to the customer once the order has been
> completed (refer to § 3 par. 2). Settlement of accounts are effected by
> means of direct debit entries with the bank in charge of the customer’s
> account in Germany, Austria and Spain 1 day on submitting a
> pre-notification at the earliest, and in other countries 5 days on
> submitting a pre-notification at the earliest.
> (2) In case of the method of payment chosen by the customer not being
> practicable, where Spreadshirt has met its contractual obligations, in
> particular if it is the case that a direct debit from the customer´s
> account is not possible due to a lack of funds or provision of wrong
> information, then the customer shall reimburse any additional costs
> incurred by Spreadshirt or a third party which carried out the transaction.
> (3) Spreadshirt is entitled to make use of the services of trustworthy
> third parties for the handling of the payment:
> a) If it comes to a default of payment of the customer, Spreadshirt is
> allowed to assign its claims to a debt collection agency and transfer the
> personal data required for the handling of payments to these third parties.
> b) In the case of intervention of third parties in the handling of
> payments, then payment in relation to Spreadshirt only counts as made if
> the amount has been provided contractually to the third party, so that the
> third party can dispose of it as it sees fit.
> (4) The customer agrees to electronic invoicing only. Invoices will be
> made available in PDF format and sent to the customer via email.
> *§ 7 Conditional Sale*
> (1) Up to the payment of any monies owed to Spreadshirt the goods remain
> the property of Spreadshirt. If the customer is a merchant according to the
> German Commercial Code (HGB), Spreadshirt remains owner of all delivery
> items up to the receipt of all payment due resulting from the business
> relationship.
> (2) The customer is obliged to handle the product with care up to the
> transfer of ownership.
> *§ 8 Guarantee*
> (1) As far as there is a defect in the goods which falls under warranty,

> demand supplementary performance, withdraw from the contract or a reduction
> in purchase price.
> (2) In the case of return shipments due to defects Spreadshirt will also
> pay for the cost of postage.
> (3) Data communication via the internet, considering the current state of
> the technology, cannot be guaranteed as being flawless und/or available at
> any time. Thus, Spreadshirt shall not be liable for the continuous and
> uninterrupted availability of the online offer.
> (4) The claims of the customer from warranty need as a prerequisite that
> they, as far as the customer is a merchant, have met their due obligations
> of examination and censure according to § 377 of the German Commercial Code
> (HGB).
> (5) The term of limitation for claims under warranty for the goods
> provided is two years starting from the receipt of such goods. If the
> customer is in business then the term of limitation is one year.
> *§ 9 Limitation of Liability*
> (1) Apart from that, liability on the part of Spreadshirt follows
> statutory provisions, insofar as nothing else is determined in these
> general terms and conditions. Spreadshirt only bears unlimited
> responsibility for damages, no matter what the legal ground, in the case of
> deliberate action and gross negligence. In addition, Spreadshirt also bears
> unlimited responsibility for damages in cases of mild negligence resulting
> in loss of life, bodily harm or damage to health. In the case of mild
> negligence and breach of an essential contractual obligation (cardinal
> obligation) Spreadshirt´s liability is limited to the payment of the
> foreseeable, typically occurring damage. Liability of Spreadshirt according
> to the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected by the
> abovementioned provisions.
> (2) As far as liability of Spreadshirt is excluded or limited in these
> general terms and conditions then the same applies for personal liability
> for damages on the part of employees, representatives and agents of
> Spreadshirt.

Hello,
after updating from snapshot 20231126 to 20231127 audio is broken on my

For some reason, I can't subscribe to the support list. As a result, I
can only ask here...
I have several Debian, Ubuntu, and Fedora systems which relay local
email to smtp.gmail.com:587 via Postfix. However, I can't get the same
configuration working on Tumbleweed.
The relevant configuration in main.cf is,
relayhost = [smtp.gmail.com]:587
smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes
smtp_sasl_security_options =
smtp_sasl_password_maps = lmdb:/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd
smtp_use_tls = yes
smtp_enforce_tls = yes
smtp_tls_security_level = encrypt
smtp_tls_CAfile = /var/lib/ca-certificates/ca-bundle.pem
smtp_tls_CApath = /var/lib/ca-certificates/pem
Thinking this could be due to a security configuration (e.g.,
deprication of MD5), I changed the following in main.cf
smtp_tls_fingerprint_digest = sha256
smtpd_tls_fingerprint_digest = sha256
TLS is enabled in master.cf,
tlsmgr unix - - n 1000? 1 tlsmgr
I did NOT change any postfix sysconfig variables using Yast.
With the following flags set in main.cf,
debug_peer_level=3
debug_peer_list=smtp.gmail.com
smtp_tls_loglevel = 2
I can see that name resolution, negotiation, password look-up, etc.
work as expected. Then, I see a segfault in postfix/smtp. The journal
entries are:

I have around three decades of C/C++ programming experience, so I took
a quick look at libkdexoauth2 and didn't see anything obvious. Before
I really dig into debigging this, does anyone have a suggestion or
solution? BTW, I am new to Tumbleweed, so I may be missing something
simple.

Updated usbutils pull in developer packages on a non development system

Hi there,

snapshot 20231127 pulls in two development packages on a non development
system:
$ sudo zypper -v dup -D
The following 2 NEW packages are going to be installed:
libusb-1_0-devel 1.0.26-1.7
systemd-devel 254.5-5.1
Looking at the hard requirements of usbutils-017-1.1.x86_64.rpm it
becomes somehow obvious why:
$ rpm -qp .../tumbleweed/repo/oss/x86_64/usbutils-017-1.1.x86_64.rpm -R
...
pkgconfig(libudev) >= 196
pkgconfig(libusb-1.0) >= 1.0.14
Shouldn't these dependencies go into some libusb*-devel package?
According to the .spec file, they are only needed for building the
package (like 31 and 33):
https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/openSUSE:Factory/usbutils/usbu…
Bug report:
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1217646
While we're at this, one snapshot around 20231119 pulled in several
*-devel packages, too - including the full cmake stack. I find it rather
not necessary on a non development system.
Cheers.

fixed length because it's common practice by other BitTorrent
clients.
+ Fixed potential Windows crash when getstdhandle() returns NULL.
+ Fixed 4.0.0 bug where the port numbers in LDP announces are
sometimes malformed.
+ Fixed a bug that prevented editing the query part of a tracker
URL.
+ Fixed a bug where Transmission may not announce LPD on its
listening interface.
+ Made small performance improvements in libtransmission.
+ Qt Client:
- Fixed torrent name rendering when showing magnet links in
compact view.
- Fixed bug that broke the "Move torrent file to trash"
setting.
- Fixed Qt 6.4 deprecation warning.
- Fixed poor resolution of Qt application icon.
+ GTK Client: Fixed missing 'Remove torrent' tooltip.
+ Web Client:
- Don't show null as a tier name in the inspector's tier list.
- Fixed truncated play / pause icons.
- Fixed overflow when rendering peer lists and made speed
indicators honor prefers-color-scheme media queries.
- Made the main menu accessible even on smaller displays.
+ transmission-cli:
- Fixed "no such file or directory" warning when adding a
magnet link.
- Fixed bug that caused the wrong decimal separator to be used
in some locales.
+ transmission-remote: Fixed display bug that failed to show some
torrent labels.
+ Everything Else:
- Ran all PNG files through lossless compressors to make them
smaller.
- Fixed potential build issue when compiling on macOS with gcc.

==== wireplumber ====
Version update (0.4.15 -> 0.4.16)
Subpackages: libwireplumber-0_4-0 wireplumber-audio wireplumber-lang
- Update to version 0.4.16:
* Additions:
- Added a new "sm-objects" script that allows loading objects
on demand via metadata entries that describe the object to
load; this can be used to load pipewire modules, such as
filters or network sources/sinks, on demand
- Added a mechanism to override device profile priorities in
the configuration, mainly as a way to re-prioritize Bluetooth
codecs, but this also can be used for other devices
- Added a mechanism in the endpoints policy to allow connecting
filters between a certain endpoint's virtual sink and the
device sink; this is specifically intended to allow plugging
a filter-chain to act as equalizer on the Multimedia endpoint
- Added wp_core_get_own_bound_id() method in WpCore
* Changes:
- PipeWire 0.3.68 is now required
- policy-dsp now has the ability to hide hardware nodes behind
the DSP sink to prevent hardware misuse or damage
- JSON parsing in Lua now allows keys inside objects to be
without quotes
- Added optional argument in the Lua JSON parse() method to
limit recursions, making it possible to partially parse a
JSON object
- It is now possible to pass nil in Lua object constructors
that expect an optional properties object; previously,
omitting the argument was the only way to skip the properties
- The endpoints policy now marks the endpoint nodes as
"passive" instead of marking their links, adjusting for the
behavior change in PipeWire 0.3.68
- Removed the "passive" property from si-standard-link, since
only nodes are marked as passive now
* Fixes:
- Fixed the wpctl clear-default command to completely clear all
the default nodes state instead of only the last set default
- Reduced the amount of globals that initially match the
interest in the object manager
- Used an idle callback instead of pw_core_sync() in the object
manager to expose tmp globals
- Remove patches included upstream:
* 0001-object-manager-reduce-the-amount-of-globals-that-initially.patch
* 0002-object-manager-use-an-idle-callback-to-expose-tmp-globals.patch
* 0001-policy-dsp-add-ability-to-hide-parent-nodes.patch
- Update split-config-file.py
