Hi experts,
I got a problem that I don't know how to send a package from Factory to
SLE on IBS when the changelog does NOT sync.
Normally I used command on IBS to send package from factory to SLE.
for example:
osc sr openSUSE.org:openSUSE:Factory ovmf SUSE:SLE-15-SP5:GA -m "Update to edk2-stable202208 (jsc#PED-1410)
But I got a problem. When the changelog didn't sync, the IBS robot will direct reject my submitreq.
Then I go to OBS to add lost bsc# and Jira# in changelog. But maintiner does NOT allow me to do that.
How can I sync the changelog between Factory with SLE on IBS?
Thanks a loT!

Hi,
Tumbleweed, up-to-date.
I'm using smb4k to mount remote cifs-shares via vpn.
Doesn't work with kernel 6.6.1, works with kernel 6.5.9
It seems there is an issue with cifs and kernel 6.6, see here:
- https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1217194
- https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=290342
But my error message in dmesg is different:
CIFS: Attempting to mount //sbsABCD/XYZ
[ 4722.266410] CIFS: VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -4
Is this another error or the same than reported in bugzilla?
Back on 6.5.9 for the time being.

Kind Regards,
Alexander

==== postfix ====
Version update (3.8.1 -> 3.8.3)
- update to 3.8.3
* Bugfix (defect introduced Postfix 2.5, date 20080104): the
Postfix SMTP server was waiting for a client command instead
of replying immediately, after a client certificate verification
error in TLS wrappermode. Reported by Andreas Kinzler.
* Usability: the Postfix SMTP server (finally) attempts to log
the SASL username after authentication failure. In Postfix
logging, this appends ", sasl_username=xxx" after the reason
for SASL authentication failure. The logging replaces an
unavailable reason with "(reason unavailable)", and replaces
an unavailable sasl_username with "(unavailable)". Based on
code by Jozsef Kadlecsik.
* Compatibility bugfix (defect introduced: Postfix 2.11, date
20130405): in forward_path, the expression ${recipient_delimiter}
would expand to an empty string when a recipient address had
no recipient delimiter. The compatibility fix is to use a
configured recipient delimiter value instead. Reported by Tod
A. Sandman.
- Syntax error in update_postmaps script (bsc#1216061)
- postfix: config.postfix causes too tight permission on main.cf
(bsc#1215372)

* Rename Faraday::Logger::Formatter#error to #exception by @iMacTia in https://github.com/lostisland/faraday/pull/1468
[#]# ATTENTION
Rename Faraday::Logger::Formatter#error ([#1468](https://github.com/lostisland/faraday/pull/1468)) is potentially a breaking change IF you've created a custom `Faraday::Logging::Formatter` implementing the new `error` method introduced in v2.7.0.
We've decided to rollout this change in a fix version anyway because the name of the method was potentially causing infinite loop issues, and because the feature was very recently released.
This should not be impacting you otherwise and you can safely upgrade.

## Leap
Public holiday in Czechia on Fri 17th
Dolomite and Marble will have parallel availability, we still plan to
support Leap Micro 5.5 until October 2024.
Let's revisit what "container hosts" we plan to make available to
community.
Qt5/6 stack update: Antonio was working yesterday to get stagings in
SLES into a shape.
Initial discussion with Sergio (Dolomite PM) a meeting tomorrow around
noon CET.
Max found that our last build 553.1 was not published, probably due to
a download-o-o migration. I already dropped an email to Autobuild.
I was really happy to see 6 openSUSE related talks on openALT in a city
that's usually painted red!
Calendaring solution for openSUSE is coming!

* The usual number of bug fixes, including
* Fix "git diff" exit code handling
* Various fixes to the behavior of "rebase -i" when the command
got interrupted by conflicting changes
==== json-c ====
Version update (0.16 -> 0.17)
- Update to 0.17:
+ New features:
* json_patch: add first implementation only with patch application
* Add --disable-static and --disable-dynamic options to the cmake-configure script.
* Add -DBUILD_APPS=NO option to disable app build
* Minimum cmake version is now 3.9
+ Significant changes and bug fixes:
* When serializing with JSON_C_TO_STRING_PRETTY set, keep the opening and
closing curly or square braces on same line for empty objects or arrays.
* Disable locale handling when targeting a uClibc system due to problems
with its duplocale() function.
* When parsing with JSON_TOKENER_STRICT set, integer overflow/underflow
now result in a json_tokener_error_parse_number. Without that flag
values are capped at INT64_MIN/UINT64_MAX.
* Fix memory leak with emtpy strings in json_object_set_string
* json_object_from_fd_ex: fail if file is too large (>=INT_MAX bytes)
* Add back json_number_chars, but only because it's part of the public API.
* Entirely drop mode bits from open(O_RDONLY) to avoid warnings on certain
platforms.
* Specify dependent libraries, including -lbsd, in a more consistent way so
linking against a static json-c works better

Version update (1.15.5 -> 1.16.3)
- 1.16.3 / 2023-10-04
Fixed:
* Fix gcc error when building on CentOS 7. #1052
* Avoid trying to store new DataConverter type in frozen TypeDefs hash. #1057
1.16.2 / 2023-09-25
Fixed:
* Handle null pointer crash after fork. #1051
1.16.1 / 2023-09-24
Fixed:
* Fix compiling the builtin libffi. #1049
1.16.0 / 2023-09-23
Fixed:
* Fix an issue with signed bitmasks when using flags on the most significant bit. #949
* Fix FFI::Pointer#initialize using NUM2LL instead of NUM2ULL.
* Fix FFI::Type#inspect to properly display the constant name. #1002
* Use libffi closure allocations on hppa-Linux. #1017
Previously they would segfault.
* Fix class name of Symbol#inspect.
* Fix MSVC support of libtest. #1028
* Fix attach_function of functions ending in ? or ! #971
Added:
* Convert all C-based classes to TypedData and use write barriers. #994, #995, #996, #997, #998, #999, #1000, #1001, #1003, #1004, #1005, #1006, #1007, #1008, #1009, #1010, #1011, #1012
This results in less pressure on the garbage collector, since the objects can be promoted to the old generation, which means they only get marked on major GC.
* Implement `ObjectSpace.memsize_of()` of all C-based classes.
* Make FFI Ractor compatible. #1023
Modules extended per `extend FFI::Library` need to be frozen in order to be used by non-main Ractors.
This can be done by calling `freeze` below of all C interface definitions.
* In a Ractor it's possible to:
* load DLLs and call its functions, access its global variables
* use builtin typedefs
* use and modify ractor local typedefs
* define callbacks
* receive async callbacks from non-ruby threads
* use frozen FFI::Library based modules with all attributes (enums, structs, typedefs, functions, callbacks)
* invoke frozen functions and callbacks defined in the main Ractor
* use FFI::Struct definitions from the main Ractor
* In a Ractor it's impossible to:
* create new FFI::Library based modules
* create new FFI::Struct definitions
* use custom global typedefs
* use non-frozen FFI::Library based modules
* Allow type retrieval of attached functions+variables. #1023
* Make FFI classes `GC.compact` friendly. #1021
* Update libffi and disable custom trampoline when using libffi closure allocation. #1020
This is because libffi changed the way how closures are allocated to static trampolines.
* Add types.conf for loongarch64-linux. #943
* Add types.conf for sw_64-linux (Shen Wei 64-bit, based on Alpha). #1018
* Add support for aarch64-windows. #1035
* Windows: Update LoadLibrary error message to include error code. #1026
* Allow private release method for FFI::ManagedStruct and FFI::AutoPointer. #1029
* Add support for passing ABI version to FFI.map_library_name. #963
This adds the new class FFI::LibraryPath .
* Add support for ruby-3.2 to windows binary gem. #1047
* Enable debug symbols for `rake compile` builds to ease debugging. #1048
Removed:
* Remove allocator of AbstractMemory. #1013
This disables AbstractMemory.new, which has no practical use.
* Remove unused FFI::SizeTypes. #1022

==== rubygem-mini_portile2 ====
Version update (2.8.4 -> 2.8.5)
- ### 2.8.5 / 2023-10-22
[#]### Added
- New methods `#lib_path` and `#include_path` which point at the installed directories under `ports`. (by @flavorjones)
- Add config param for CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE, which now defaults to `Release`. (#136 by @Watson1978)
[#]### Experimental
Introduce experimental support for `MiniPortile#mkmf_config` which sets up MakeMakefile variables to properly link against the recipe. This should make it easier for C extensions to package third-party libraries. (by @flavorjones)
- With no arguments, will set up just `$INCFLAGS`, `$libs`, and `$LIBPATH`.
- Optionally, if provided a pkg-config file, will use that config to more precisely set `$INCFLAGS`, `$libs`, `$LIBPATH`, and `$CFLAGS`/`$CXXFLAGS`.
- Optionally, if provided the name of a static archive, will rewrite linker flags to ensure correct linkage.
Note that the behavior may change slightly before official support is announced. Please comment on [#118](https://github.com/flavorjones/mini_portile/issues/118) if you have feedback.

Version update (2.40 -> 2.41)
Subpackages: libctf-nobfd0 libctf0
- Add binutils-use-less-memory.diff to be a little nicer to 32bit
userspace and huge links. [bsc#1216908]
- riscv-relro.patch: RISC-V: Protect .got with relro
- Add libzstd-devel to Requires of binutils-devel. (bsc#1215341)
- Update to version 2.41 [PED-5778]:
* The MIPS port now supports the Sony Interactive Entertainment Allegrex
processor, used with the PlayStation Portable, which implements the MIPS
II ISA along with a single-precision FPU and a few implementation-specific
integer instructions.
* Objdump's --private option can now be used on PE format files to display the
fields in the file header and section headers.
* New versioned release of libsframe: libsframe.so.1. This release introduces
versioned symbols with version node name LIBSFRAME_1.0. This release also
updates the ABI in an incompatible way: this includes removal of
sframe_get_funcdesc_with_addr API, change in the behavior of
sframe_fre_get_ra_offset and sframe_fre_get_fp_offset APIs.
* SFrame Version 2 is now the default (and only) format version supported by
gas, ld, readelf and objdump.
* Add command-line option, --strip-section-headers, to objcopy and strip to
remove ELF section header from ELF file.
* The RISC-V port now supports the following new standard extensions:
- Zicond (conditional zero instructions)
- Zfa (additional floating-point instructions)
- Zvbb, Zvbc, Zvkg, Zvkned, Zvknh[ab], Zvksed, Zvksh, Zvkn, Zvknc, Zvkng,
Zvks, Zvksc, Zvkg, Zvkt (vector crypto instructions)
* The RISC-V port now supports the following vendor-defined extensions:
- XVentanaCondOps
* Add support for Intel FRED, LKGS and AMX-COMPLEX instructions.
* A new .insn directive is recognized by x86 gas.
* Add SME2 support to the AArch64 port.
* The linker now accepts a command line option of --remap-inputs
<PATTERN>=<FILE> to relace any input file that matches <PATTERN> with
<FILE>. In addition the option --remap-inputs-file=<FILE> can be used to
specify a file containing any number of these remapping directives.
* The linker command line option --print-map-locals can be used to include
local symbols in a linker map. (ELF targets only).
* For most ELF based targets, if the --enable-linker-version option is used
then the version of the linker will be inserted as a string into the .comment
section.
* The linker script syntax has a new command for output sections: ASCIZ "string"
This will insert a zero-terminated string at the current location.
* Add command-line option, -z nosectionheader, to omit ELF section
header.
- Removed obsolete patches: binutils-2.40-branch.diff.gz,
riscv-dynamic-tls-reloc-pie.patch, riscv-pr22263-1.patch,
extensa-gcc-4_3-fix.diff .

- Add binutils-old-makeinfo.diff for SLE-12 and older.
- Rebased aarch64-common-pagesize.patch and binutils-revert-rela.diff .

- Add binutils-disable-dt-relr.sh for an compatibility problem
caused by binutils-revert-rela.diff in SLE codestreams.
Needed for update of glibc as that would otherwise pick up
the broken relative relocs support. [bsc#1213282, PED-1435]
- This only existed only for a very short while in SLE-15, as the main
variant in devel:gcc subsumed this in binutils-revert-rela.diff.
Hence:
- Remove binutils-disable-dt-relr.sh as subsumed.

Needed for the pci host controller emulated by qemu.
- commit ebb7db3
- Delete patches.rpmify/x86-Let-AS_WRUSS-depend-on-X86_64.patch.
- Update config files.
This effectively reverts 9ab2e0780c8a2fb9a84db5bad59fbe3ab526a6c3. The
patch was not accepted upstream:
https://lore.kernel.org/all/20231031140504.GCZUEJkMPXSrEDh3MA@fat_crate.loc…
Instead, we merged the packaging branch which fixes this in
rpm/check-for-config-changes instead.
- rpm/check-for-config-changes: add AS_WRUSS to IGNORED_CONFIGS_RE
Add AS_WRUSS as an IGNORED_CONFIGS_RE entry in check-for-config-changes
to fix build on x86_32.
There was a fix submitted to upstream but it was not accepted:
https://lore.kernel.org/all/20231031140504.GCZUEJkMPXSrEDh3MA@fat_crate.loc…
So carry this in IGNORED_CONFIGS_RE instead.
- commit ce5bc31
- config: enable NFS_V4_2_READ_PLUS (bsc#1216736)
This option was introduced and disabled by default because of unresolved
issues. As stated in mainline commit 9cf2744d2491 ("NFS: Enable the
READ_PLUS operation by default") which changes the upstream default to
enabled, these issues are addressed so that it is safe to enable the
option and as it allows to transfer sparse files more efficiently, it is
desirable to do so.
- commit c4f1dc1

==== postgresql16 ====
Version update (16.0 -> 16.1)
Subpackages: libpq5 postgresql16-contrib postgresql16-server
- Upgrade to 16.1:
* bsc#1216962, CVE-2023-5868: Fix handling of unknown-type
arguments in DISTINCT "any" aggregate functions. This error led
to a text-type value being interpreted as an unknown-type value
(that is, a zero-terminated string) at runtime. This could
result in disclosure of server memory following the text value.
* bsc#1216961, CVE-2023-5869: Detect integer overflow while
computing new array dimensions. When assigning new elements to
array subscripts that are outside the current array bounds, an
undetected integer overflow could occur in edge cases. Memory
stomps that are potentially exploitable for arbitrary code
execution are possible, and so is disclosure of server memory.
* bsc#1216960, CVE-2023-5870: Prevent the pg_signal_backend role
from signalling background workers and autovacuum processes.
The documentation says that pg_signal_backend cannot issue
signals to superuser-owned processes. It was able to signal
these background processes, though, because they advertise a
role OID of zero. Treat that as indicating superuser ownership.
The security implications of cancelling one of these process
types are fairly small so far as the core code goes (we'll just
start another one), but extensions might add background workers
that are more vulnerable.
Also ensure that the is_superuser parameter is set correctly in
such processes. No specific security consequences are known for
that oversight, but it might be significant for some extensions.
* Add support for LLVM 16 and 17
* https://www.postgresql.org/about/news/2749
* https://www.postgresql.org/docs/16/release-16-1.html

Dear Package maintainers and hackers.
Below package(s) in openSUSE:Factory have had problems for at
least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the
configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no
fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.
- perl-GnuPG-Interface: Fails to build
- python-dask: Fails to build
- python-swifter: Fails to build
Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed
package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Factory.
Kind regards,
DimStar / Dominique Leuenberger <dimstar(a)opensuse.org>

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
This week was all in the name of Hackweek, which means some people
diverged their efforts a bit away from Factory/Tumbleweed and others
have finally found the time they craved and could submit what they had
on their wish-list. The Release Team was trying to keep up with the
submissions while also having their own time dedicated to hackweek.
Seeing that we published 6 snapshots (1102, 1103, 1105, 1106, 1107, and
1108) I dare say this worked out pretty well.
The six delivered snapshots contained these changes:
* GNOME-Shell/Mutter 45.1
* libxml 2.11.5
* Pipewire 0.3.84
* systemd: disabled utmp support
* Libvirt 9.9.0
* xfconf 4.18.3
* fwupd 1.9.7
* VLC 3.0.20
* BlueZ 5.70
* LLVM 17.0.4
* SQLite 3.44.0
Snapshot 1109 is already in QA, 1110 is building, and stagings are
getting ready. All in all, you can expect these changes to happen soon-
ish:
* Linux kernel 6.6 (Snapshot 1109+)
* gAWK 5.3.0
* Binutils 2.41 (Snapshot 1110+)
* KDE Gear 23.08.3
* Mozilla Firefox 119.0.1
* RPM 4.19: Some preparation work has happened to ensure packages
still build (e.g. %patch with unnumbered patches is no longer
supported)
* dbus-broker as the default dbus session manager
Cheers,
Dominique
