Dear Package maintainers and hackers.
Below package(s) in openSUSE:Factory have been failing to build for at
least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the
configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no
fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.
- ccrypt
Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed
package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Factory.
Kind regards,
DimStar / Dominique Leuenberger <dimstar(a)opensuse.org>

- Update to version 0.3.37:
* Highlights
- Capture and playback is now avoided even more on unavailable
devices. This should fix some issues where an unusable
microphone was selected by default. It should now also again
be possible to select an unavailable device as the default.
- Native DSD audio playback is now supported. pw-cat can now
also play DSF files with the -d option.
- JACK stability improvements with buffer-size and samplerate
changes in some apps.
- Many cleanups and bugfixes all over the place.
* PipeWire
- pw-metadata -d does not cause an infinite loop anymore.
(#1622)
- Increase some plugin buffer sizes to fix some issues with
many channels. (#1620)
- Protect the global plugin list with a lock. Make sure
pw_init() is locked. Fixes some issues with concurrent ALSA
plugin usage.
* media-session
- Unavailable devices can be set as the default again. (#1624)
- Do a better check if a device has available routes and avoid
selecting devices with unavailable routes as default.
- Media-session was moved to its own directory. It used to live
in examples but it is past the example stage and it
interferes with the build options for the real examples.
* Bluetooth
- The hardware quirk database is now loaded by the plugin
instead of the session manager. This makes it also work with
wireplumber.
* ALSA
- The ALSA mixer now handles device removal much better.
(#1627)
* libcamera
- Many fixes and improvement to the libcamera plugin. (#1513)
* pulse-server
- Improve compatibility with pulseaudio module arguments.
- Parse channel_map arguments in module-loopback. (#1486)

==== python-importlib-metadata ====
Version update (3.7.2 -> 4.8.1)
- Update to v4.8.1
* #348: Restored support for EntryPoint access by item,
deprecating support in the process. Users are advised to use
direct member access instead of item-based access:
- ep[0] -> ep.name
- ep[1] -> ep.value
- ep[2] -> ep.group
- ep[:] -> ep.name, ep.value, ep.group
- Release v4.8.0
* #337: Rewrote EntryPoint as a simple class, still immutable
and still with the attributes, but without any expectation for
namedtuple functionality such as _asdict.
- Release v4.7.1
* #344: Fixed regression in packages_distributions when neither
top-level.txt nor a files manifest is present.
- Release v4.7.0
* #330: In packages_distributions, now infer top-level names
from .files() when a top-level.txt (Setuptools-specific
metadata) is not present.
- Release v4.6.4
* #334: Correct SimplePath protocol to match pathlib protocol
for __truediv__.
- Release v4.6.3
* Moved workaround for #327 to _compat module.
- Release v4.6.2
* bpo-44784: Avoid errors in test suite when DeprecationWarnings
are treated as errors.
- Release v4.6.1
* #327: Deprecation warnings now honor call stack variance on
PyPy.
- Release v4.6.0
* #326: Performance tests now rely on pytest-perf. To disable
these tests, which require network access and a git checkout,
pass -p no:perf to pytest.
- Release v4.5.0
* #319: Remove SelectableGroups deprecation exception for flake8.
- Release v4.4.0
* #300: Restore compatibility in the result from Distribution.
entry_points (EntryPoints) to honor expectations in older
implementations and issuing deprecation warnings for these
cases:
* EntryPoints objects are once again mutable, allowing for sort
() and other list-based mutation operations. Avoid deprecation
warnings by casting to a mutable sequence (e.g. list(dist.
entry_points).sort()).
* EntryPoints results once again allow for access by index. To
avoid deprecation warnings, cast the result to a Sequence
first (e.g. tuple(dist.entry_points)[0]).
- Release v4.3.1
* #320: Fix issue where normalized name for eggs was incorrectly
solicited, leading to metadata being unavailable for eggs.
- Release v4.3.0
* #317: De-duplication of distributions no longer requires
loading the full metadata for PathDistribution objects, entry
point loading performance by ~10x.
- Release v4.2.0
* Prefer f-strings to .format calls.
- Release v4.1.0
* #312: Add support for metadata 2.2 (Dynamic field).
* #315: Add SimplePath protocol for interface clarity in
PathDistribution.
- Release v4.0.1
* #306: Clearer guidance about compatibility in readme.
- Release v4.0.0
* #304: PackageMetadata as returned by metadata() and
Distribution.metadata() now provides normalized metadata
honoring PEP 566:
* If a long description is provided in the payload of the RFC
822 value, it can be retrieved as the Description field.
* Any multi-line values in the metadata will be returned as such.
* For any multi-line values, line continuation characters are
removed. This backward-incompatible change means that any
projects relying on the RFC 822 line continuation characters
being present must be tolerant to them having been removed.
* Add a json property that provides the metadata converted to a
JSON-compatible form per PEP 566.
- Release v3.10.1
* Minor tweaks from CPython.
- Release v3.10.0
* #295: Internal refactoring to unify section parsing logic.
- Release v3.9.1
* #296: Exclude 'prepare' package.
* #297: Fix ValueError when entry points contains comments.
- Release v3.9.0
* Use of Mapping (dict) interfaces on SelectableGroups is now
flagged as deprecated. Instead, users are advised to use the
select interface for future compatibility.
* Suppress the warning with this filter: ignore:SelectableGroups
dict interface.
* Or with this invocation in the Python environment: warnings.
filterwarnings('ignore', 'SelectableGroups dict interface').
* Preferably, switch to the select interface introduced in
3.7.0. See the entry points documentation and changelog for
the 3.6 release below for more detail.
* For some use-cases, especially those that rely on importlib.
metadata in Python 3.8 and 3.9 or those relying on older
importlib_metadata (especially on Python 3.5 and earlier),
backports.entry_points_selectable was created to ease the
transition. Please have a look at that project if simply
relying on importlib_metadata 3.6+ is not straightforward.

This is a package I've included in Linux-PAM which I've used for years
(from my SysAdmin days) to connect to other machines from my central
workstation after loading in a private key to gpg-agent. In my case, my
gpg-agent setup comes off a Yubikey (which I also use in tandem with
pam-u2f for login(s) where I'm sitting in front of the machine) and
allows less sudo prompting as I maintain the myriad of other systems I
watch after.
General usage is setup in /usr/etc/pam.d/sudo with a line like:
auth sufficient pam_ssh_agent_auth.so file=~/.ssh/authorized_keys
combined with adding "SSH_AUTH_SOCK" as a variable in "env_keep".
This allows a pubkey hash in your authorized_keys file to work with
ssh-agent/gpg-agent to grant sudo privs (provided your agent has
prompted for a passphrase and loaded in your keypair) without the usual
prompts or timeouts around sudo.
As always, use a passphrase for your private keys ;)

Hello everyone.
It looks like there is a regression in the libqt5-qtwebengine library,
I checked several applications using this library, all fail
symbol lookup error: /lib64/libQt5WebEngineCore.so.5: undefined symbol:
hb_subset_input_set_drop_hints
For example opensuse-welcome
I guess this is due to glibc 2.34, it was at the moment when he got
into the factory that the problems began.

Hello,
I'm contacting you on behalf of EDF (Electricité De France), a French state-owned energy company, currently the world's 2nd largest producer of electricity.
For our scientific computing needs, we internally develop and maintain Scibian (https://scibian.org/) a Linux distribution based on Debian. We recently started investigating OpenQA to automate our testing, and although the project is still at the "Proof of Concept" stage, we are very enthusiastic about taking it further and would love to discuss it with you.
As we get deeper into OpenQA, we have some questions to which we could not find the answers in your documentation or videos.
We would be very happy to talk with someone from your team to ask these questions and learn more about your long experience working with OpenQA and maintaining it.
If we commit to using OpenQA, we are also interested in contributing to the project. We already added some features for our usage :
- support of qemu 6.1 by adding backing file format when images are created. We saw that you nearly finished to work on it too
- support of french keyboard layout with a french OS guest. Even with "VNCKB=fr" option and without our fix, send_key works badly for many keys (maybe we missed something ?)
We would be glad to hear back from you. A video call sounds great to us, but other means of communication are fine.
If sending this email to opensuse-factory(a)opensuse.org was inappropriate, please excuse us. If it is the case, can you give us a better address ?
Best regards,

and tried https on mirrors.edge.k.o:
https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/opensuse/tumbleweed/repo/oss/x86_64/389-ds-…
THAT HAD NO COPY and returned 404 (instead of forwarding)
The 404 in my squidlog, BTW, was hidden in the https/tunnel which
is why this is a pain to track down.
I caught it in my browser which ended up on their 404 page:
(Sorry, we cannot find your kernels)
the 301 (permanently moving) kills forwarding to the next
mirror if it isn't present (another variable, if it is present, will
work, if not, won't).

libalternatives is imho a big improvement over update-alternatives.
Is there any plan to upstream its support? I think the Open Source
ecosystem would greatly benefit from doing so and we wouldn't have to
maintain libalternatives support for the packages. Plus, I am a big fan
of upstreaming and letting the spec file just run
make && make install.
Let me know if you need any help regarding this.

Danilo

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
This week we have shipped the long-awaited glibc 2.34 update.
Unfortunately, as was the case with earlier glibc updates, some
containerization methods are blocking new syscalls, which can lead to
issues out of the control of Tumbleweed. Our docker packages have been
adjusted to handle Tumbleweed inside the containers, but many container
providers might not be there yet. Besides the full rebuild snapshot
with glibc, we released a total of 4 snapshots this week (0916, 0920,
0921, and 0922).
The main changes included:
* KDE Frameworks 5.86.0
* Harfbuzz 2.9.1
* glibc 2.34
* binutils 2.37
* GStreamer 1.18.5
* Linux kernel 5.14.5
* Apache 2.4.49
* shadow 4.9
The staging projects are currently filled with:
* Linux kernel 5.14.6
* KDE Plasma 5.23 beta (5.22.90)
* Perl 5.34.0
* Mesa 21.2.2
* Boost 1.77.0
* openssl 3.0
Cheers,
Dominique
