Why http://download.opensuse.org/update/leap/15.3/sle/ includes all previous service packs?

Since SLE 11 (or may be even SLE 10) each service pack needs just two repositories - Pool and Updates (there were some deviations and of course this should be adjusted for each module but in general this holds true). I thought may be I forgot something so I installed SLES 15 SP2 (with subscription) yesterday and sure thing - the only repositories are those for SP2, there is no SP1 or SP0 anywhere. I do not have beta subscription for SLE 15 SP3 so cannot test but I would be surprised if it had been different. Why Leap 15.3 now suddenly has all previous service packs in its sle update repository? This is what seems to cause all those problems with patches for wrong SP.

Best to put config snippets in /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*.conf files to inherit distro config changes There is in plus a default config change in the openSUSE package to align with how upstream ships openSSH pre-configured: 20+- Drop openssh-7.7p1-allow_root_password_login.patch to prevent login 21+ as root via password by default (is also upstream default). Moving from Freenode to Libera.Chat

Hi everyone, as some of you noticed, lately there've been challenges around Freenode, the IRC network that has been home to a number of openSUSE channels for years. See, for example, https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/05/freenode-irc-has-been-taken-over-by… https://news.itsfoss.com/freenode-controversy/ Approached by several of you we discussed this with those, the board, and the weekly release meeting. There is consensus to move our channels to Libera.Chat ( https://libera.chat ), a new network many other projects are migrating to as well. With help from Antonio and Sasi I already registered the openSUSE project with Libera.Chat (which by itself is not a move yet) and Marcus R. and others are ready to execute the move. The plan of record is to move quickly. If you have any concerns or questions, please advise as soon as possible. Likewise if you support. Hello openSUSE! I'd like to give big thanks to all of those who participated in our openSUSE Leap 15.3 release retrospective. We've received 605 responses which is almost 200 more than in 15.2. I'm grateful for the increased participation as it shows us that it makes sense to have this type of feedback loop. First round of public interview will be held on the openSUSE conference https://events.opensuse.org/conferences/oSVC21/program/proposals/3479/ Everyone is welcome to join us. We'll schedule some more public rounds on meet-o-o as well, as you can't review all of feedback + create action items in a single session. Marina: from the maintenance side - we have to check better any sort of conflicts that can happen on SLE updates to Leap. We're improving these tools. It would be really great to monitor packages that we're shipping in Leap. Some packages are provided via extra channels that we call package hub subpackages. Marina: we don't have strict rules for Leap updates as everything in PH is not supported. Lubos this should be definitely item for Leap 15.4 Interlock / maintenance part.
