Thanks! I don't have any Yubikey, but this was we can get people to test it :-)

I'd wait for 8.3 indeed to prevent double work, thanks a lot!

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
It has been a while since I wrote a ‘weekly’ review. My own fault for
taking some days off, right? At least I had good weather and enjoyed
the time – a lot even. But now I am in dept to you: I owe you a review
over what happened over the last three weeks. Since the last review,
openSUSE Tumbleweed has seen 11 new snapshots (0514, 0515, 0516, 0517,
0519, 0520, 0523, 0526, 0528, 0602 and 0603). Thanks to Max for taking
care of it during my absence).
The most notable changes in those snapshots were:
* Mozilla Firefox 76.0.1
* Linux kernel 5.6.12 & 5.6.14
* The YaST changes, as announced by the YaST Team in their sprint
reports
* Mesa 20.0.7
* VirtualBox 6.1.8
* KDE Applications 20.04.1
* Sudo 1.9.0 (final release)
* GCC 10 as default distro compiler (all packages have been attempted
to rebuild. Currently, ~ 5% of packages fail to build)
* Qt 5.15.0
* Inkscape 1.0
* TexLive 2020
* Guile 3.0.2
This means almost all of the things from the last ‘weekly review’s’
‘things in progress’ have been delivered by now. But that does not mean
there is nothing left. Currently, the staging projects are filled with
these major changes:
* RPM change: %{_libexecdir} is being changed to /usr/libexec. This
exposes quite a lot of packages that abuse %{_libexecdir} and fail to
build
* Mozilla Firefox 77.0
* KDE Plasma 5.19
* SQlite 3.32.1
* Linux kernel 5.7.0
* Mesa 20.1.0
* openSSL 3.0
Cheers,
Dominique

=== Details ===
==== cryptsetup ====
Version update (2.3.1 -> 2.3.3)
Subpackages: cryptsetup-lang libcryptsetup12 libcryptsetup12-32bit libcryptsetup12-hmac
- Update to 2.3.3:
* Fix BitLocker compatible device access that uses native 4kB
sectors
* Support large IV count (--iv-large-sectors) cryptsetup option
for plain device mapping
* Fix a memory leak in BitLocker compatible handling
* Allow EBOIV (Initialization Vector algorithm) use
* LUKS2: Require both keyslot cipher and key size option, do
not fail silently
- includes changes from 2.3.2:
* Add option to dump content of LUKS2 unbound keyslot
* Add support for discards (TRIM) for standalone dm-integrity
devices (Kernel 5.7) via --allow-discards, not for LUKS2
* Fix cryptsetup-reencrypt to work on devices that do not allow
direct-io device access.
* Fix a crash in the BitLocker-compatible code error path
* Fix Veracrypt compatible support for longer (>64 bytes)
passphrases
==== exim ====
Version update (4.93.0.4 -> 4.94)
- update to exim 4.94
* some transports now refuse to use tainted data in constructing their delivery
location
this WILL BREAK configurations which are not updated accordingly.
In particular: any Transport use of $local_user which has been relying upon
check_local_user far away in the Router to make it safe, should be updated to
replace $local_user with $local_part_data.
* Attempting to remove, in router or transport, a header name that ends with
an asterisk (which is a standards-legal name) will now result in all headers
named starting with the string before the asterisk being removed.
==== ffmpeg-4 ====
Subpackages: libavcodec58 libavdevice58 libavfilter7 libavformat58 libavresample4 libavutil56 libpostproc55 libswresample3 libswscale5
- libfdk-aac is now .so.2, not .so.1.
==== gptfdisk ====
Version update (1.0.4 -> 1.0.5)
- Update to 1.0.5
* Changed number of columns in type code output ("sgdisk -L"
and equivalents in gdisk and cgdisk) from 3 to 2, since some
descriptions are long enough that they are ambiguous with
three columns.
* You can now put the 0xEE partition last in a hybrid MBR using
sgdisk. (Previously, this was possible with gdisk but not
with sgdisk.) See the sgdisk man page for details.
* Added numerous type codes for Container Linux, Veracrypt, and
Freedesktop.org's Discoverable Partitions Specification
* Partition type name searches are now case-insensitive.
* It is now possible to quit out of partition type name
searches by typing "q".
* When changing a partition type code, the default is now the
current type code, not a platform-specific type code.
==== haveged ====

Hi,
I've been away but I'm back. Is there any chance that openSUSE will talk to Lenovo so that it will be available on the Thinkpads?
I apologize if this is off-topic.

Dear Package maintainers and hackers.
Below package(s) in openSUSE:Factory have been failing to build for at
least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the
configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no
fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.
- libprelude
- mozilla-jss
Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed
package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Factory.
Kind regards,

Hello team,
I'd like to share with you meeting notes from today's short discussion
that I had with a maintenance team.
We were talking about the direction that we'd like to take with submit
requests for the new development model
https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Leap:Jump, which will eventually become
the development model for the next openSUSE Leap.
Short summary:
The goal is easy, make contributions easier and more transparent
compared to what we have today.
So far we've all agreed on the direction, which is to mirror OBS
requests in IBS and keep them both synchronized (updates, comments,
states ....). We'll have to figure out how to not flood the maintenance
team with requests by defining maintenance update acceptance criteria
on how should an openSUSE Leap maintenance request for a package with
SLE origin look like (e.g. no rebuild of several packages across
maintenance projects, or change of ABI/API). These would be typically
requests for next releases. We kept in mind that the update of a
package in the openSUSE Leap Beta phase can be in fact also SLE
Maintenance request if the package is inherited from the maintenance
project. Updates of Leap specific packages would stay more relaxed,
just like nowadays.
We'll have yet another meeting on June 18th.
Please reach out to me if you'd like to be part of it.
Lubos
Meeting minutes for an ad-hoc meeting with the maintenance team
Attendees: lkocman, deneb_alpha, snbarth, gustavo boiko
Topics to discuss:
Submit requests in the Jump development model.
Diagram of proposed workflow as discussed with Autobuild in by
lkocman:
https://github.com/openSUSE/CommunitySLEFeatureRequests/blob/master/images/…
Future openSUSE Leap would be built on top of several projects,
openSUSE Backports (8k packages, the diff in between SLE and Final
openSUSE Leap), SUSE Linux Enterprise (4k packages) and Jump or Future
openSUSE Leap (~ 50 "branding" packages including 000product ...).
The vision is that contributor submits a Submit Request against a
single project and feature gets redirected to a correct origin (
https://jira.suse.com/browse/OBS-59). If the origin is SLE then
submission gets mirrored to OBS (https://jira.suse.com/browse/OBS-63)
and updates in the original SR and cloned SR are synchronized.
This might be unwanted in case that package comes from an SLE
maintenance project, or in the Late SLE development cycle.
What would be a preferred direction by the maintenance team for this?
Gustavo Boiko: We need to reference an approved ECO, otherwise we do
not accept the change.
lkocman:
Marcus: if we offer this to community and we'd have "more active"
version updates. This can flood the team by bureaucracy. We're pretty
relaxed about version updates for Leap packages that are not coming
from SLE, but for SLE packages, every change needs to go through ECO.
Lubos: what would be the workflow, for next release service pack, which
in fact is a SLE-15:Update request. Essentially 4 options. 1) Update
package in SLE-15:Update, fork it for new SLE SP if it's a desired
change, fork it in Leap or drop the change if it's unwanted.
Marcus: rebuilds of multiple packages in update streams is something we
simply not do. We have a commitment to keep ABI/API compatible across
SP and related update streams. Exceptions would be defined by ECO.
Generally unwanted as it could break also 3rd party packages. We have
to keep independent software vendors which build on top of SLE.
Notes: a regular bugfix does not need an ECO, we need that for version
updates and so on.
The ideal deadline for the maintenance workflow prototype would be the
end of July. So we have time until potential October release.
Post meeting:
Chat with Marina: could we auto-reject requests update request touching
ABI/API with a message to open feature -> ECO? Is there ABI/API checker
bot?
Marina: List of tools/bots
Dear Tumbleweed Users,
The next Tumbleweed snapshot (0602) is being synced out and will reach
the FTP Servers soon. This will be a big strain on your bandwidth - as
it was a full rebuild of the entire distro.
Why you ask? Newly, the distro is built using GCC 10.1 (no longer GCC
9.3). And it was about time to get a full rebuild again.
There are likely a bunch of packages that won't be able to correctly
update, as a lot of packages (~ 600) currently fail to build in
openSUSE:Factory. All those are candidates to cause trouble.
The most notable one we've seen in openQA will be wine and gnucash.
Both are being worked on and will have fixes provided rather soon.
So, this is just a heads up - start making some space on your disk to
cater for the large zypper cache :)
Cheers,
Dominique

- Update to release 2020.05.25
* mkisofs: Fixed an integer overflow bug in mac_label.c with
Apple -chrp boot.
* star: The subst command for pax now supports the \1, \2, ...
escapes for \(...\) selections in the from pattern, like it
is used by sed(1).
* star: A new subst option -pax-s has been added that supports
sed(1) like substitutions. The old option -s continues to
support change(1) like substititions.
* SCCS: A new option -X0 has been introduced to allow to use
nul byte separated file names on stdin when using the file
argument "-".
* SCCS: The commands sccslog and sccscvt now also support the
argument "-" as a directive to read filenames from stdin.
* SCCS: `sccs init` now by default creates an empty changeset
history file with release 1.0 as
$SRC_ROOT/.sccs/SCCS/s.changeset This signals SCCS to work in
project mode where a group of files is managed together and
the version 1.0 allows the first proect release to become
1.1.
* SCCS: `sccs init -s` now allows to initialize a directory
tree without creating a $SRC_ROOT/.sccs/SCCS/s.changeset
history file. This signals SCCS to work in single file mode.
