remains enabled by default. This can be disabled in project
config.

* Fixed a potential integer overflow condition in the "safe"
decompressor variants which could result in a possible buffer
overrun when processing maliciously crafted compressed input
data.
Fortunately this issue only affects 32-bit systems and also can
only happen if you use uncommonly huge buffer sizes where you
have to decompress more than 16 MiB (> 2^24 bytes) untrusted
compressed bytes within a single function call, so the
practical implications are limited.
POTENTIAL SECURITY ISSUE. CVE-2014-4607.

pointers - LZO now requires a flat 32-bit or 64-bit memory
model.

Sorry, I'm not sure if that is the correct list for this issue, but I haven't found a proper one.
I have installed the packages avr-libc, cross-avr-binutils and cross-avr-gcc from the http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/CrossToolchain:/avr/openSUSE_Tumb… repository.
When I try to compile a simple main.c with avr-gcc:
int main(void)
{
for(;;);
}
I get a
avr-gcc -o file main.c
as: unrecognized option '-mmcu=avr2'
when I run the command with strace I get:
stat("/opt/cross/libexec/gcc/avr/5.4.0/as", 0x7ffe2ea0b150) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
stat("/opt/cross/libexec/gcc/avr/5.4.0/as", 0x7ffe2ea0b150) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
stat("/opt/cross/libexec/gcc/avr/as", 0x7ffe2ea0b150) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
stat("/opt/cross/lib/gcc/avr/5.4.0/as", 0x7ffe2ea0b150) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
stat("/opt/cross/lib/gcc/avr/as", 0x7ffe2ea0b150) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
stat("/opt/cross/lib/gcc/avr/5.4.0/../../../../avr/bin/avr/5.4.0/as", 0x7ffe2ea0b150) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
stat("/opt/cross/lib/gcc/avr/5.4.0/../../../../avr/bin/as", 0x7ffe2ea0b150) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
then the PATH is searched for an "as" executable and finally it ends up at /usr/bin/as, which is the host assembler that does not understand the '-mmcu=avr2' option.
The problem seems to be that the avr-binutils are installed under /usr/avr, but the avr-gcc is under /opt/cross-avr. The "avr-" binaries are in the PATH, but avr-gcc is not searching for them.
Is this a bug? Or is there a configuration to get that working?

Frank

Hello All:
Thank you Knurpht, I'm hoping this is the fix. Following up in case anybody else sees simillar symptoms. So far my bluetooth has not failed. I'll post an update if it does, but I'm guardedly optimistic that Knurpht's trick helped.

Hi Knurpht:
I rolled back bumblebee and zypper dup to get the latest changes, but had a
bluetooth failure before taking your advice. Here is my attempt to follow this advice,
I am now awaiting the outcome.
As per your recommendation I looked at lsusb
$lsusb
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 8087:0a2b Intel Corp.
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 064e:3401 Suyin Corp.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
$lsusb -t
/: Bus 02.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=xhci_hcd/6p, 5000M
/: Bus 01.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=xhci_hcd/12p, 480M
|__ Port 5: Dev 2, If 1, Class=Video, Driver=uvcvideo, 480M
|__ Port 5: Dev 2, If 0, Class=Video, Driver=uvcvideo, 480M
|__ Port 7: Dev 3, If 0, Class=Wireless, Driver=btusb, 12M
|__ Port 7: Dev 3, If 1, Class=Wireless, Driver=btusb, 12M
I then blacklisted the bluetooth device in /etc/default/tlp:
# Exclude listed devices from USB autosuspend (separate with spaces).
# Use lsusb to get the ids.
# Note: input devices (usbhid) are excluded automatically
#USB_BLACKLIST="1111:2222 3333:4444"
USB_BLACKLIST="1d6b:0002 1d6b:0003 064e:3401 8087:0a2b"
With best regards:
Bill

Please also try this:
Use lsusb to find the manufacturor and device ID
Now edit /etc/default/tlp ( needs root permissions ) and search for
'USB_BLACKLIST='. , and add the manufacturor and device ID between quotes,
like below.
USB_BLACKLIST="04e8:3292" for example.
This should prevent the USB device to be switched off by power saving
settings.

For you amusement ...
I had a question to check what version of perl was shipped with what
release of SUSE/openSUSE, so I did some digging
Everything I could trace on my CD/DVD's
I found info for SUSE versions 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 6.1, 8.2, 9.1, 9.2, 9.3,

It seems KDE is still partially built against OpenSSL 1.0.0 libraries,

Hi,
because its now some time in past since libreoffice-kde
was removed.
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1064660,
so i like to ask if at all, and if then when will libreoffice-kde
again avalable? the dialogs now are not really handy
in comparsion to the libreoffice-kde dialogs.
(as bruno friedmann also wrote in the bugreport:
" Isn't a way to get a port to qt5 of this libreoffice-kde4 ?
Like a nice subject for a gosc, or hackweek ;-)
For me managing files (save, open) is almost impossible with
the gtk things. It doesn't respect the workflow and design
in place of the whole environment.")
regards,
simoN

Hello all:
I'm getting a message that the packman repomd.xml is unsigned for tumbleweed, is anybody else seeing this? Is it some local corruption or is something else going on here?
$ sudo zypper lr -d

[opensuse-factory] Release tools development highlights: 2017: w43-44, w45-46, and w47-48
by Jimmy Berry 07 Dec '17

Going forward I will be publishing bi-weekly posts covering openSUSE release
tool development and related topics. To get started I played a bit of catch-up
and published highlights for the last 6 weeks. The goal is to provide insight
into the work that goes into the tools used to create the openSUSE release
process. I also plan to write in-depth posts on specific topics of interest
and likely some high level overviews of the process as a whole.
- 2017w43-44: repo-checker for Leap and full OBS for tooling tests [1]
- 2017w45-46: metrics.o.o deployed, TW snapshots, and repo-checker skips
openQA [2]
- 2017w47-48: Tumbleweed snapshots in the press [3]
If you would rather be notified via RSS one can use the feed [4].

I wrote a short followup after the announcement [1] and created an
introduction video [2] in an attempt to better explain the concept and
purpose.
