hi, when we tried to submit dovecot 2.2 to factory, we got asked why we want the packaging of multiple versions. The main points are - allow easier parallel maintenance especially for long term distros (Evergreen + SLES) - one those distros allow admins to time the upgrade more easily because they have both packages avaible. - allow parallel maintenance of plugins for multiple versions in 1 project. Does openSUSE already use Systemd in Initrd and if not, is this planned? I think, using Systemd in initrd would allow to use some interesting Systemd features in early boot phase. Especially the systemd-cryptsetup(8) functionality would be interesting. Opening an encrypted root filesystem and additional encrypted filesystems with Systemd in Initrd could be better than using the old /lib/mkinitrd/scripts/ scripts.
