[opensuse-factory] Dynamic Linker on openSUSE: questions about oS specific patches

Dear listmates, In maintaining the Haskell compiler for openSUSE I came across a discussion on dynamic linking for Haskell. In Haskell ticket 8935 https://ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/8935 a dynamic linker issue is raised that I cannot reproduce on openSUSE 13.1. Since I know the C compiler and linker gurus read this list, I am posting here. So my question is: Do we apply a patch to the system linker that makes to following program return the correct address (three times the same) for `environ` in all three calls of dlsym()? It is not an openSUSE problem, which is good, but an issue on quite a few other distros. The ticket mentions Ubuntu and CentOS. Any kind of help is highly appreciated! Suppose I have a large body of code, of which programmers are lazy and do something like this: (note that this is a silly example to make my point, the real thing is much more scary) cat lazy.c int printf(const char *format, ...); int main(void) { printf("Problem?"); return 0; } If you compile that with -Wall -Wextra -pedantic or -WWhatever no warning is emitted and the resulting code calls ..call printf .. instead of call __printf_chk .. as it would when <stdio.h> is included. The Dell Recovery "partition"[sic], was relocated to a *FILE* inside the windows directory in Win7. [opensuse-factory] virtualbox issue with pesign-repackage

Hi, I am just trying to figure out why is virtualbox build failing in Factory (same problem also in Virtualization project). Hi, In mentioned request for factory the install location of the myspell dictionaries is changed from /usr/share/myspell to /usr/share/hunspell Using LibreOffice:Factory this is breaking spellcheck on my system. According to man hunspell the original location is the right one. Is this correct? (It is not only about a working spellcheck, but has also consequences for a package I maintain).
