[opensuse-factory] new OpenICC colour profile data package

Hello all, I would like to help in bringing the Colour Management System (CMS) Oyranos [1] into openSUSE Factory [2]. Oyranos is a feature rich and modular cross platform library, with long year experience in colour management It aims at providing Linux with the ICC glue in an non intrusive way. Thus it is acompanied by a lot of standardisation work, which are all implemented inside Oyranos and belonging projects. During the past months the projects obtained compile fixes and removed warnings, documentation where added and it was streamlined for rpmlint/OBS. So it took some time. There are several logical independent packages and libraries involved, which I would like to start with. (Or is it better to include all at once?) Here comes the first two: OpenICC-data[3] design follows the icc-profile package, which exists since years on Debian. The debian package contains many of the former Oyranos ICC profiles. I streamlined the package because of various license issues and practical reasons. The OpenICC-data package is peer reviewed by the colour management group OpenICC. It is required and used by the Oyranos project and dependent projects like ICC Examin - a quality ICC profile viewer, CinePaint - a high bit depth image editor, Kolor Manager - a front end to Oyranos and CompICC - a desktop colour server plugin. After long discussions and many talks with different vendors, we finaly could win the basICColor profile set[4] to get licensed under a free license (libpng/zlib). These profiles are of highest quality and widely accepted in the print industry. The basICColor LStar-RGB profile is already included in OpenICC-data. However the Cmyk print profiles come in a different package called basICColor_Offset_2009 [5]. [opensuse-factory] gnome-menus update coming to openSUSE:Factory

Hi all, First, sorry for x-posting, but the topic addresses really both. I just prepared updates of gnome-menus in GNOME:Factory. Nothing special so far. Unfortunately, gnome-menus 3.1.5 is ABI and API incompatible to the existing gnome-menus (v 3.0.1) which we currently have in Factory. And as there are more consumers than only GNOME packages, I feel you should all be aware of the upcoming change. Especially as some packages might fail a build with the update if o precautions are taken. In order to avoid any big disruption, I submitted gnome-menus 3.0.1 as a new package, gnome-menus-legacy, to openSUSE:Factory. This will provide a devel package and the shared library, so that your app will keep on working. Of course, the -devel package has a different name, and as such it depends on your .spec file if there is work needed from your side or not. If you have a BuildRequires: gnome-menus-devel, then you do have to act and change this to BuildRequires: pkgconfig(libgnome-menu). This will ensure that even though the package is renamed, you get the right -devel file on your system. for the end user, gnome-menu 3.1.5 and 3.0.1 have differen library names and as such are parallel installable. The other subpackages are weirdly named but are not important for your packages. An update of those willt ransparently happen (gnome-menus-editor for example). [opensuse-factory] deprecation of xulrunner packages

Hi, because xulrunner as a stable platform is basically dead with Mozilla's new rapid release cycle we more or less need to remove the packages from Factory. This includes: mozilla-xulrunner192 mozilla-xulrunner20 Version 2.0 is already out of upstream support while 1.9.2 will live for some more weeks (not exactly sure for how long). According to OBS the following packages are still depending on these: mozilla-xulrunner192: google-gadgets libgluezilla0 libreoffice libreoffice-bootstrap libreoffice-components libreoffice-libs-extern moonlight moonshine mozilla-xulrunner20: PackageKit bundle-lang-gnome-extras chmsee icedtea-web libproxy-plugins rhythmbox There are probably only JS engine consumers (libproxy-plugins?) which should have a replacement already in Factory with the js package? Then there are NPAPI only consumers I guess which just need some header files? What else do those packages need? That's important to me to find out what exactly we need to provide in Factory to be able to remove the full xulrunner packages. Also if some package is missing in the above list for whatever reason, please let me know. Hi I would like to introduce duply to Factory. The package currently is maintained in the utilities repository. The purpose of duply in Factory will enable an enduser to have some additional features with the already available duplicity. Duply deals as a wrapper for duplicity. Hi, for bug bnc#710279 I'm also have look how to switch over to systemd unit configuration files for starting sendmail MTA and also sendmail client mail queue handler. Hello List Mates, Remember the earlier release of systemd with the fast boot up when tested in openSUSE 11.4. Well now it takes 5 minutes to boot up.
